Summary

This paper evaluates how higher education information systems have shaped financial subjectivities among university students in Colombia over the past two decades. It analyzes the financial conception of higher education promoted among those aspiring to higher education by exploring the debates on neoliberal governmentality and its impact on higher education. To achieve this goal, it traces the dissemination of human capital theory in the guidelines of multilateral organizations, searches for favorable mentions of financial aid programs in two national newspapers and estimates the intensity of interpellations in college magazine advertisements.
