The Liturgical Studies series provides a forum for scholars of matters related to the theory and practice of ritual and worship. Titles in this series may address liturgical history, liturgical theology, ritual studies, or interdisciplinary writing and research centered on topics related to liturgical aspects of both secular and religious culture. Approaches may be multi-disciplinary, concentrated in a single aspect of liturgical studies, or focused on performance theory in worship. Included in this series are discussions addressing either the worship practices of one religious tradition or inter-faith liturgical studies research. Also appropriate are discussions concerning the political, sociological, economic, or psychological dimensions of religious worship or non-religious ritual.

The home market, the Euro, strong international cooperation, economic success and peace in Europe will work better and with more stability, or at least less difficulty, the more multilin-gual Europeans are. While the institutional EU has done a lot to pursue the targets (since 2007, there have been a separate fund and a Commissioner for Multilingualism), the situation in the individual countries continues to differ widely. The result is that the multilingual abili-ties of European citizens and societal multilingualism, including diglossia, vary from country to country. The series Multilingualism in Europe seeks to contribute from different perspectivesto a bet-ter definition of the phenomenon of multilingualism, providing theoretical and practical sup-port on how multilingualism can be explored and promoted and how it can work effectively. L’UE a fait suivre ses objectifs de mesures concrètes (depuis 2007, il y a un commissaire à l'éducation, à la culture, au multilinguisme et à la jeunesse), cependant la situation dans les différents pays européens reste très hétérogène : les compétences plurilinguistiques des citoyens européens et le multilinguisme sociétal, y compris la diglossie varient d'un pays à l'autre. La collection « Multilinguisme en Europe » a comme objectif d’apporter une contribution en analysant ces questions sous des angles divers, en cernant le phénomène du multilinguisme et en fournissant des apports théoriques et pratiques qui permettent de promouvoir le multilinguisme et le savoir comment celui progresse de manière efficace. Les domaines scientifiques suivants constituent le point de départ, l’interdisciplinarité y est dominante : • linguistique • neurolinguistique • psychologie • didactique du plurilinguisme • histoire • sociologie • sciences politiques • littérature et civilisations comparées Binnenmarkt, Euro, intensive internationale Zusammenarbeit, wirtschaftlicher Erfolg und Friede in Europa können umso besser und stabiler bzw. überhaupt störungsfrei funktionieren, wenn möglichst viele EuropäerInnen mehrsprachig sind. Während die EU institutionell den Zielvorgaben konkrete Taten hat folgen lassen (seit 2007 gibt es ein eigenes Portfolio und damit einen eigenen Kommissar für Mehrsprachigkeit), sieht die Lage in den einzelnen Ländern weiterhin sehr unterschiedlich aus. Die Folge: Die Mehrsprachenkompetenz der europäischen BürgerInnen und die gesellschaftliche Mehrsprachigkeit inklusive der Diglossie variieren von Land zu Land. Die Psychoanalyse entstand im Spannungsfeld zwischen verschiedenen wissenschaftlichen Bereichen, namentlich Psychologie, Pädagogik, Philologie und Philosophie auf der einen, Medizin und Biologie auf der anderen Seite. Heute ist Psychoanalyse ein vielgestaltiges Praxisfeld und ein verzweigtes Forschungsgebiet über das grosse Gebiet der Psychotherapieforschung hinaus. Gesprächs- und Kulturanalyse, Neurowissenschaft und evolutionäre Psychologie, Bildungswissenschaften und Evolution der Moral, Textanalyse und Interpretation, Erzähl- und Religionsforschung gehören zum Interessenspektrum und verlangen häufig Expertise, die im Dialog mit den Nachbarwissenschaften entsteht. Umgekehrt profitieren Psychologie, Philosophie, Kultur- und Literaturwissenschaft, Theologie, Medizin und Medienforschung von psychoanalytischen Konzepten, Modellen und Befunden aus den Werkstätten psychoanalytischer Forschung. Die Psychoanalyse bietet eine Fülle differenzierter Beobachtungen und theoretischer Konzepte, die für andere Disziplinen anregend und weiterführend sind. Psychoanalyse im Dialog bedeutet aber auch Psychoanalyse im kontroversen Dialog - ein Dialog zwischen den verschiedenen Fachwissenschaften, die voneinander unterschiedene Erkenntnisziele verfolgen. Auf diese Weise befördert Psychoanalyse eine kritische Argumentationskultur. Die Reihe «Psychoanalyse im Dialog» ist ein Publikationsforum für wissenschaftliche Studien theoretischer und empirischer Art, in denen psychoanalytisches Denken und Wissen auf neuen Feldern fruchtbar wird. Although human beings have been migrating across the globe for millennia, mass migration to North America has occurred only in the last 200 years. Whether they came to farm the land, to practice their crafts, or to find work in newly-emerging industries, over 50 000 000 immigrants crossed the Atlantic Ocean in the last two centuries to begin a new life in the «New World». Europäische Bildung im Dialog

Ziel dieser Buchreihe ist es, den bildungswissenschaftlichen Diskurs vor dem Hintergrund des europäischen Integrationsprozesses in international-vergleichender Perspektive voranzubringen. Angesichts der aktuellen wirtschaftlichen und politischen Entwicklungen in Europa sehen sich Bildung und Forschung vor neue Herausforderungen gestellt: Die politische und wirtschaftliche Reduzierung von Bildung und Bildungsforschung auf technisch verwertbares Humankapital sowie auf die Messung von Bildungsleistung verstellt zunehmend den Blick für die Bedingungen von Ungleichheit v.a. entlang der Dimensionen soziale Klasse, Ethnizität und Staatsangehörigkeit. Die Buchreihe legt einen deutlichen Fokus auf komplexe theoretische Fundierungen und empirische Rekonstruktionen jener Mechanismen und Strukturen, die zu einer Perspektivverengung von Bildungspraxis, Bildungspolitik und Bildungsforschung führen und so strukturell und kulturell verankerte klassen-, migrations- und geschlechtsspezifische Ungleichheiten ebenso legitimieren wie verfestigen. AEJMC - Peter Lang Scholarsourcing Series

Based on the concept of crowdsourcing, Scholarsourcing is a joint publishing initiative between the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC) and Peter Lang Publishing. The series reimagines the way that scholarly books are proposed, peer-reviewed, and approved for contract during this time of relentless change in both the journalism and publishing industries. Beginning with a call from AEJMC each fall, members are invited to submit short book proposals that are relevant to journalism and communication and speak to the mission of AEJMC. Proposals are uploaded to an online public platform that allows as many AEJMC members as possible to browse, review, and then vote on and pledge support. This platform encourages public dialogue among multiple parties to improve the potential of each book project. Whether awarded a book contract or not, authors benefit by receiving a valuable set of review comments, far more than they might receive via conventional reviewing processes, and from a more diverse range of reviewers (members). Using these votes and review comments, the AEJMC Scholarsourcing editorial committee, appointed by the president of AEJMC, selects the top proposals. The authors of the top proposals are invited to submit complete book proposals. Once those reviews have been evaluated by the editorial committee and the publisher, a decision on which proposals receive contracts is made.
