The Postcolonial Studies series explores the enormous variety and richness in postcolonial culture and transnational literatures. The series aims to publish work which explores various facets of the legacy of colonialism including: imperialism, nationalism, representation and resistance, neocolonialism, diaspora, displacement and migratory identities, cultural hybridity, transculturation, exile, and geographical and metaphorical borderlands. This series does not define its attentions to any single place, region, or disciplinary approach, and we are interested in books informed by a variety of theoretical perspectives. Studien zur Ethik in Ostmitteleuropa

Die Reihe Studien zur Ethik in Ostmitteleuropa unternimmt es, die Diskussion über ethische Überzeugungen insbesondere in und mit den vor 1989 vom westlichen Europa getrennten Ländern zu fördern und die vorfindlichen Argumentationszusammenhänge zu an alysieren. Dabei werden vor allem die folgenden Felder der Ethik berücksichtigt: Medizinethik, Wirtschaftsethik, Rechtsethik, Politische Ethik und Geschichte der Ethik. Verbunden sind die Erörterungen regelmäßig mit einem Vergleich zwischen den unter schiedlichen Entwicklungen auf dem Weg zu einem politisch und rechtlich vereinten Europa, auf dem die ethischen Befindlichkeiten und Überzeugungen der Völker nicht außer Acht gelassen werden sollten.

Academic and scholarly responses have built on the traditional and non-traditional analytical frameworks and promoted a multidimensional discourse on, for example, conflict management, peace and security systems, HIV/AIDS, democratic governance, and the implications of globalization. This series is designed to encourage innovative thinking on a broad range of development issues. Thus its remit extends to all fields of intellectual inquiry with the aim of highlighting the advantages of a synergistic interdisciplinary perspective on the challenges of and opportunities for development in the continent. Of particular interest are studies with a heavy empirical content which also have a bearing on policy debates and those that question theoretical orthodoxies while being grounded on concrete developmental concerns. Micro y Pequeña Empresa Latinoamericana

The works in this collection are open access and aim to promote and disseminate quality scientific production in the economic-administrative area and related areas, developing research on micro and small enterprises focusing on a particular aspect each year. Global Studies in Education

"Global Studies in Education is a book series that address the implications of the powerful dynamics associated with globalization for re-conceptualizing educational theory, policy and practice. The general orientation of the series is inter-disciplinary. It welcomes conceptual, empirical and critical studies that explore the dynamics of the rapidly changing global processes, connectivities and imagination, and how these are reshaping issues of knowledge creation and management and economic and political institutions, leading to new social identities and cultural formations associated with education. Scholars have sought to use the term “globalization” to summarize dynamic processes now being expressed in the intensification and movement of cultural and economic capital across national borders, the acceleration of mass migration, and the amplification and proliferation of images generated in the Internet and in electronic mediation generally. These processes are now fully articulated to the organization of knowledge in educational institutions and the social and cultural environments in which both school youth and educators now operate. However, there is no settlement or general agreement, nor is there a developed literature, about how globalization processes function in the institutional terrain of education and how they impact the integration of social subjects into contemporary institutions such as the school. This new series therefore aims to provide a venue for rigorous interdisciplinary research that seeks to describe, document, theorize, and intervene in the brave new educational world defined by globalization processes. We are particularly interested in manuscripts that offer: a) new theoretical, and methodological, approaches to the study of globalization and its impact on education; b) ethnographic case studies or textual/discourse based analyses that examine the cultural identity experiences of youth and educators inside and outside of educational institutions; c) studies of education policy processes that address the impact and operation of global agencies and networks; d) analyses of the nature and scope of transnational flows of capital, people and ideas and how these are affecting educational processes; e) studies of shifts in knowledge and media formations, and how these point to new conceptions of educational processes; f) exploration of global economic, social and educational inequalities and social movements promoting ethical renewal. In der Reihe "Deutsche Literatur von den Anfängen bis 1700" erscheinen Ergebnisse germanistischer Forschung und Reflexion über einen Zeitraum, der ca. 1000 Jahre deutscher Literaturgeschichte umfasst, in denen das rhetorische und mentale Inventar an Sprach-, Bild-, und Denkmustern im Kontext einer intensiv gegenwärtigen christlichen Welt- und Erinnerungsschau sich gehalten und verfasst fand. Das Spektrum der Veröffentlichungen ist konzeptuell nicht beschränkt auf Interpretation und Analyse einzelner Literaturdenkmäler, sondern ist offen für Zeitdiagnose und Epochenprobleme, vor allem aber auch für die editorische Neuerschliessung von Texten, für methodische Neuansätze und interdisziplinäre Vorgehensweisen dieser Interpretation, auf deren Inanspruchnahme sowohl die mediävistische Altgermanistik als auch die mittlere Germanistik und die sich allmählich intensivierende Beschäftigung mit der beginnenden Neuzeit (16./17. Jahrhundert) angewiesen bleiben, sofern diese Zeiträume sachgerecht und historisch relevant behandelt werden sollen. Auf Grund der Diversität der Aufgabenstellungen, Forschungsrichtungen und methodischen Ansätze, die hier zur Sprache kommen mögen, sind die einzelnen Bände so konzipiert, dass sie ein Werk, eine Epoche oder eine systematische Fragestellung selbstständig erörternd angehen.

The aim of the series Worlds of East Asia of the Swiss Asia Society is to publish high-quality, representative work issuing from academic research on all aspects of East Asia. It comprises, and receives, studies on present-day and historical East Asian cultures and societies covering the fields of art, literature and thought as well as translations and interpretations of important sources. Furthermore the series intends to present studies that offer expert knowledge on relevant themes and current questions appealing not only to the academic public, but also to an audience generally interested in East Asia. One important goal of the series is to establish a forum for academic work in the fields of the humanities and social sciences in Switzerland. However, the series is also committed to the rich variety of studies and writing on East Asia in the international research community. The main publication languages for studies, collections (by individual or several contributors), and surveys are therefore German, French, and English. The series is supervised and internally reviewed by an editorial board comprising leading representatives in East Asian studies. La série Mondes de l’Extrême-Orient de la Société Suisse-Asie publie des recherches de qualité représentatives de la recherche académique sur les cultures et sociétés de l’Asie orientale. Elle propose des études dans des domaines variés comme l’art, la littérature, et la pensée, anciens ou modernes, ainsi que des traductions et interprétations de sources. Elle publie également des travaux qui traitent de questions plus actuelles ou immédiates, de façon compétente mais abordable, avec le souhait de toucher, au-delà des cercles académiques, le grand public cultivé. L’un des buts de la série est de servir de forum pour les sciences humaines et sociales dans le domaine des études asiatique en Suisse. Les travaux de la communauté scientifique internationale sont cependant les bienvenus. Les langues principales des travaux, collections, ou recueils thématiques sont l’allemand, le français et l’anglais. La série est dirigée par un comité composé de chercheurs actifs dans les diverses disciplines des études extrême-orientales. Die Reihe Welten Ostasiens der Schweizerischen Asiengesellschaft stellt repräsentative Arbeiten aus der facettenreichen akademischen Forschung vor. Sie nimmt Studien zu den ostasiatischen Kulturen und Gesellschaften in Gegenwart und Vergangenheit in den Bereichen Kunst, Literatur und Denken sowie Übersetzungen und Interpretationen von Quellentexten auf. Sie will aber auch Arbeiten anbieten, die in allgemein verständlicher Weise kompetentes Wissen zu relevanten und aktuellen Fragen vermitteln und neben dem wissenschaftlichen Zielpublikum auch einer breiter interessierten Leserschaft zugänglich sind. In erster Linie ist sie ein Forum für geistes- und sozialwissenschaftliche Arbeiten aus der Schweiz, daneben werden aber auch Beiträge aus der internationalen Forschung aufgenommen. Die Hauptpublikationssprachen für die Studien, Sammelbände und Übersichtswerke sind Deutsch, Französisch und Englisch. Die Reihe wird von einem Herausgebergremium geleitet, das von führenden Fachvertretern aus den jeweiligen akademischen Disziplinen beraten wird.
