This series hosts works coming from both sides of the Atlantic that offer multicultural and interdisciplinary perspectives on modern literary, aesthetic, and cultural issues. It embraces studies of literature, theatre, cinema, visual arts, or dance. Defamiliarizing subjects by adopting an outsider’s view or bringing to bear different aesthetic or theoretical discourses on particular cultural spheres are among the privileged approaches of Transatlantic Aesthetics and Culture. The series aims to foster dialogue and encourage different cultural and critical discourses. It welcomes monographs and collections of essays. Contributors are invited to submit projects to the editors.

Dans cette collection sont présentés, traduits et commentés des textes anciens sur des thèmes centraux de la théologie, des doctrines, de la culture, de la spiritualité du christianisme des premiers siècles. Les extraits sont tirés principalement d’œuvres rédigées en grec ou en latin. L’édition en est donnée dans la langue originale et elle est accompagnée d’une traduction en langue moderne. Les œuvres retenues appartiennent aux cinq premiers siècles, mais certains sujets peuvent imposer le choix de textes plus tardifs. In Traditio Christina werden frühe Texte zu zentralen Themen der Geschichte des antiken Christentums, der Kultur und Theologie präsentiert, übersetzt und kommentiert. Der Grossteil der Exzerpte stammt aus griechischen und lateinischen Quellen. Die Editionen sind zweisprachig und enthalten die Originalversion sowie deren Übersetzung ins Französische oder Deutsche. Berücksichtigt werden Werke aus den ersten fünf Jahrhunderten, wobei gewisse Themen auch Texte späteren Datums erfordern können.

Early Christianity in the Context of Antiquity

The series ECCA (Early Christianity in the Context of Antiquity) seeks to publish monographs and edited volumes that take as their theme early Christianity and its connections with the religion(s) and culture(s) of antiquity and late antiquity. Special attention is given to the interactions between religion and culture, as well as to the influences that diverse religions and cults had on one another. Works published in ECCA extend chronologically from the second century B.C.E. to the fifth century C.E. and geographically across the expanse of the Roman empire and its immediate neighbors. Prior to publication, the quality of the work published in this series is reviewed by the editors of the series and by members of the academic advisory board. Proposals are welcome for mongraphs or edited volumes. Those interested in contributing to the series should send a detailed project outline to one of the series editors or to editorial@peterlang.com. Die Reihe ECCA (Early Christianity in the Context of Antiquity) zielt auf die Publikation von Monographien und Sammelbänden, die sich thematisch mit dem frühen Christentum und seinen Beziehungen zu Religion(en) und Kultur(en) der Antike und Spätantike befassen. Dabei gilt das besondere Augenmerk den Wechselwirkungen, die Religion und Kultur aufeinander ausüben, sowie den Einflüssen, die die verschiedenen Religionen und Kulte aufeinander hatten. Zeitlich erstrecken sich die in ECCA publizierten Arbeiten auf das 2. Jh. v. Chr. bis zum 5. Jh. n.Chr., geographisch auf den Raum des Imperium Romanum und seiner unmittelbaren Nachbarn. Die Qualität der in dieser Reihe erscheinenden Arbeiten wird vor der Publikation durch die Herausgeber der Reihe sowie durch Mitglieder des Wissenschaftlichen Beirates geprüft. Bible in the Christian Orthodox Tradition

This series aims at exploring and evaluating the various aspects of biblical traditions as studied, understood, taught, and lived in the Christian communities that spoke and wrote – and some continue speaking and writing – in the Aramaic, Arabic, Armenian, Coptic, Georgian, Romanian, Syriac, and other languages of the Orthodox family of churches. A particular focus of this series is the incorporation of the various methodologies and hermeneutics used for centuries in these Christian communities, into the contemporary critical approaches, in order to shed light on understanding the message of the Bible. Each monograph in the series will engage in critical examination of issues raised by contemporary biblical research. Scholars in the fields of biblical text, manuscripts, canon, hermeneutics, theology, lectionary, Apocrypha and Pseudepigrapha will have an enormous opportunity to share their academic findings with a worldwide audience. Manuscripts and dissertations, incorporating a variety of approaches and methodologies to studying the Bible in the Eastern and Oriental Orthodox traditions – including, but not limited to, theological, historiographic, philological and literary – are welcome. Media production and media aesthetics are corresponding aspects of the discussion surrounding media that form a single unit. The series focuses partly on works about the aesthetic-dialectic analysis of media design. Areas of interest include media technology development and the resulting changes in both media design and what is expected of media. At the same time, digital and online media are influencing usage to a large extent. Authors in this series address these impacts and examine the extent to which changed forms of use are encouraging the development of new technologies and applications. By linking these interacting areas, we want this series to encourage and promote discussion between the disciplines. The volumes 1–4 have been published under "Babelsberger Schriften zu Mediendramaturgie und -Ästhetik". Medienästhetik und Mediennutzung bilden als korrespondierende Aspekte des Diskurses über Medien eine Einheit. Im Fokus der Schriftenreihe stehen zum einen Arbeiten, in denen sich Autor_innen der ästhetisch-dialektischen Analyse der Gestaltung medialer Werke zuwenden. Fokussiert werden die Entwicklungen der Medientechnik und die sich daraus ergebenden Veränderungen in der Gestaltung und in den Erwartungen an Medien. Zum anderen nehmen digitale und Online-Medien einen großen Einfluss auf die Nutzung ein. Autor_innen der Reihe widmen sich diesen Auswirkungen sowie der Untersuchung dessen, inwiefern veränderte Gebrauchsformen die Entwicklung neuer Technologien und Anwendungen anstoßen. Mit der Verbindung dieser interagierenden Bereiche möchten wir in der Reihe einen Diskurs zwischen den Disziplinen anregen und befördern. German Visual Culture

German Visual Culture invites research on German art across different periods, geographical locations, and political contexts. Books in the series engage with aesthetic and ideological continuities as well as ruptures and divergences between individual artists, movements, systems of art education, art institutions, and cultures of display. Challenging scholarship that interrogates and updates existing orthodoxies in the field is desirable. A guiding question of the series is the impact of German art on critical and public spheres, both inside and outside the German-speaking world. Reception is thus conceived in the broadest possible terms, including both the ways in which art has been perceived and defined as well as the ways in which modern and contemporary German artists have undertaken visual dialogues with their predecessors or contemporaries. Issues of cultural transfer, critical race theory and related postcolonial analysis, feminism, queer theory, and other interdisciplinary approaches are encouraged, as are studies on production and consumption, especially the art market, pioneering publishing houses, and the ‘little magazines’ of the avant-garde. All proposals for monographs and edited collections in the history of German visual culture will be considered, although English will be the language of all contributions. Submissions are subject to rigorous peer review. The series will be promoted through the series editor’s Research Forum for German Visual Culture (https://www.eca.ed.ac.uk/research/research-forum-german-visual-culture), which he founded at the University of Edinburgh in 2011, and which has involved various symposia and related publications, all connected to an international network of Germanist scholars.

Fachgeschichte ist damit eine zentrale Aufgabe der Fachdidaktik, die über historische Bestandsaufnahmen hinaus auch Orientierungen für Gegenwart und Zukunft unserer gesamten sprachlich-literarischen Kommunikationskultur bietet. Die von Joachim S. Hohmann 1988 begründete, von Bodo Lecke weitergeführte und von Christian Dawidowski herausgegebene Schriftenreihe thematisiert die Bedeutung des Faches aus wissenschaftlichen, unterrichtspraktischen, gesellschafts- und bildungspolitischen Perspektiven – insbesondere in Gestalt von Spezialmonografien, Habilitationsschriften, Dissertationen, Forschungsberichten und Sammelwerken. Die Qualität der in dieser Reihe erscheinenden Arbeiten wird vor der Publikation durch den Herausgeber der Reihe geprüft.

Zentrales Anliegen der „Schriftenreihe des Instituts für Management und Tourismus“ ist es, im Bereich der Betriebswirtschaftslehre bei wissenschaftlicher Fundierung tourismusbezogene Erkenntnisse mit Anwendungsorientierung und Problemlösungsanspruch zu vermitteln. Die Reihe zeigt anhand konkreter Fragestellungen beispielhaft auf, wie die Tourismuswirtschaft neuen Marktkonstellationen und komplexen Herausforderungen begegnen kann. Das Spektrum der Veröffentlichungen reicht von Projekt- und Forschungsberichten bis hin zu Sammelbänden mit Artikeln von Wissenschaftlern und Praktikern. Analog zur Betrachtung des interdisziplinären Forschungsgegenstandes Tourismus an der Fachhochschule Westküste und dem dort angesiedelten Institut für Management und Tourismus liegt der Reihe ein betriebswirtschaftlicher Fokus zugrunde. European Connections

European Connections: Studies in Comparative Literature, Intermediality and Aesthetics is a peer-reviewed series that publishes innovative research monographs, edited volumes as well as translations of key theoretical works. The series focuses on the literary and artistic relations that have shaped and continue to shape European cultures across national, linguistic and media boundaries, leading to vibrant new forms of artistic creation and aesthetic expression. It also wishes to explore relations with non-European cultures with a view to fostering more equitable models of cultural exchange and transfer. The series promotes comparative, intermedial and interdisciplinary approaches, whether studies of specific writers, filmmakers and artists; critical re-evaluations of historical periods (from the medieval to the ultra-contemporary) and movements; or wider theoretical reflections within the fields of comparative literature, intermediality studies and aesthetics. Schwerpunkte liegen in der didaktischen Theoriebildung, der Vorstellung und Diskussion empirischer Untersuchungen und dem interkulturellen und transkulturellen Literatur- und Medienunterricht. Die Reihe versteht sich auch als Forum für Arbeiten, die der intermedialen Verbindung bzw. Integration von fachunterrichtlich orientierter Literaturdidaktik und fachübergreifender Medienpädagogik und Medienerziehung gelten. Im Mittelpunkt der Reihe Sprachentwicklung - Verlauf, Störung, Diagnostik, Intervention steht Sprache in ihrer Entwicklung und Ausdifferenzierung. Sprachentwicklung beginnt nicht erst mit dem ersten intentional und sinnvoll gebrauchten Wort. Schon vor dem Geburtsschrei, der stimmlichen Initialzündung, werden pränatal die ersten Grundlagen zur Ausbildung oraler Sprache gelegt, auf denen das präverbale Stadium im 1. Lebensjahr aufbaut. Strukturell geht es in der Reihe um Stadien und Besonderheiten der primären und sekundären Sprachentwicklung sowie um Varianten und Abweichungen mit Krankheitswert. Einen Schwerpunkt bilden Sprachstörungen im Kindesalter, ihre Prävention, Diagnostik und Therapie. Erklärungsansätze zu Facetten des Spracherwerbs sowie empirische Ergebnisse relevanter Studien sind weitere Schwerpunkte.

Cultural History and Literary Imagination

This series promotes critical inquiry into the relationship between the literary imagination and its cultural, intellectual or political contexts. The series encourages the investigation of the role of the literary imagination in cultural history and the interpretation of cultural history through literature, visual culture and the performing arts. Contributions of a comparative or interdisciplinary nature are particularly welcome. Individual volumes might, for example, be concerned with any of the following: The mediation of cultural and historical memory, The material conditions of particular cultural manifestations, The construction of cultural and political meaning, Intellectual culture and the impact of scientific thought, The methodology of cultural inquiry, Intermediality, Intercultural relations and practices. Acceptance is subject to advice from our editorial board, and all proposals and manuscripts undergo a rigorous peer review assessment prior to publication. The usual language of publication is English, but proposals in French, German, Italian and Spanish may also be considered. Literarisches Leben heute setzt sich wissenschaftlich mit gegenwärtig publizierenden Autoren auseinander. Zudem sucht die Reihe den Dialog mit diesen Autoren, indem sie in einem überschaubaren Umfang Texte zu einzelnen Persönlichkeiten, Institutionen oder Phänomenen des Literarischen Lebens publiziert. Dabei bemüht sich die Reihe, die Vielfalt der Gegenwartsliteratur exemplarisch zu dokumentieren, indem sie z.B. auch Kinder- und Jugendliteratur und populäre literarische Formate berücksichtigt. Die Reihe ist nicht auf gängige wissenschaftliche Publikationsformate festgelegt, sondern versammelt ebenso auch Interviews mit Schriftstellern und Essays von künstlerischen Wegbegleitern und anderen Persönlichkeiten des Literarischen Lebens.
