Aims and Scope As the annual peer-reviewed publication of the International Comparative Literature Association (ICLA), Recherche littéraire / Literary Research is an Open Access journal published by Peter Lang. Its mission is to inform comparative literature scholars worldwide of recent contributions to the field. To that end, it publishes scholarly essays, review essays discussing recent research developments in particular sub-fields of the discipline, as well as reviews of books on comparative topics. Scholarly essays are submitted to a double-blind peer review. Submissions by early-career comparative literature scholars are strongly encouraged. Book reviews should be between 1500 and 2000 words. Edited volumes and journal issues will also be considered for review. Review essays about the state of the art, about several related books, or about a work of major significance for the field will be allowed to exceed 3500 words, excluding works cited and footnotes. Scholarly essays should count between 6000 and 8000 words (excluding works cited and footnotes) and follow the Chicago Style sheet (parenthetical bibliographical references in the body of the text as well as a final list of Works Cited). Scholarly essays should also be preceded by an abstract in English of approximately 250 words and by 6 to 7 keywords for indexation purposes. Individual or collective, assumed or imposed, accepted or disputed, identities mark out the basic framework that root the human being in society. Language, literature, the creation of a shared memory, social formulas and the range of cultural expressions have contributed to articulating human life as a mixture of identities. Accordingly, no less than a sum of interdisciplinary perspectives, from different areas of research into the Humanities and Social Sciences, will supply us with the keys to understand the historical process and current reality of the human being in society. From this diversity, researchers using the prism of identity in any field of the Social Sciences and Humanities are invited to submit their works to the editorial board of the serie Identities. An interdisciplinary approach to the roots of the present. Individuelles ou collectives, assumées ou imposées, acceptées ou combattues, les identités configurent le premier cadre d’’enracinement de l’’être humain en société. La langue, la littérature, la création d’’une mémoire commune déterminée, les formules sociales et toutes les expressions culturelles ont contribué à articuler la vie humaine comme un treillis d’’identités. Seule une somme de perspectives interdisciplinaires contribuera donc à ce que, depuis les différents domaines de recherche des humanités et des sciences sociales, nous puissions trouver les clefs pour comprendre le parcours historique et la réalité présente de l’’être humain en société. À partir de cette diversité, les chercheurs adoptant le prisme de l’identité dans n’importe quel domaine des sciences humaines et sociales sont invités à soumettre leurs œœuvres au comité de rédaction de la collection Identités. Une approche interdisciplinaire des racines du présent.

Die Reihe “Sprachkontakte. Variation, Migration und Sprachdynamik“ erscheint unter der Herausgeberschaft von Professor Thomas Stehl mit Studien aus dem Fachbereich der Linguistik. Die Forschungsschwerpunkte liegen im Bereich einer empirisch fundierten, funktionalen Kontaktlinguistik sprachlicher Variation, Interferenz und Konvergenz in der Romania sowie der Typologie und den Prozessen von Sprachwandel und Sprachgenese in der Sprachgeschichte romanischer Sprachen. Die Qualität der in dieser Reihe erscheinenden Arbeiten wird vor der Publikation durch den Herausgeber der Reihe geprüft.

Dynamiques citoyennes en Europe / Citizenship Dynamics in Europe

Crystallization of human groups in order to constitute a place of citizenship is a complex phenomenon associating elements of identification and distinction: language, geographical origins, social classes, religion, political commitment. Through a multidisciplinary perspective, this collection brings together the works about the common research problem of «civic dynamics», itself concentrated on two main converging aspects: «secularism and religion»; «citizenships and identities». La cristallisation de groupes humains pour faire « cité » est un phénomène complexe qui associe des éléments d’’identification et de distinction : langue, origine géographique, genre, catégorie sociale, religion, engagement politique. Dans une perspective pluridisciplinaire, la collection « Dynamiques citoyennes en Europe » fédère les travaux autour de la problématique commune des « dynamiques citoyennes », elle-même articulée plus particulièrement sur deux axes convergents : « laïcité et religions » ; « citoyennetés et identités ». Elle accueille toutes sortes de publications scientifiques en français, anglais et allemand. This series publishes monographs and edited collections on the history, present condition and possible future role of organised labour around the world. Multidisciplinary in approach, geographically and chronologically diverse, this series is dedicated to the study of trade unionism and the undeniably significant role it has played in modern society. Topics include the historical development of organised labour in a variety of national and regional settings; the political, economic and legal contexts in which trade unionism functions; trade union internationalism past and present; comparative and cross-border studies; trade unions’ role in promoting economic equality and social justice; and trade union revitalisation and future prospects. The aims of the series are to promote an appreciation of the diversity of trade union experience worldwide and to provide an international forum for lively debate on all aspects of the subject.

The series provides an overview of the most interesting debates in the world of Polish academia. It is, also, intentionally looking backward to books of the past seminal for shaping Polish schools of ideas and social science. A retrospection of the most outstanding scholars adumbrates a panorama for reconsidering intellectual life in Poland. Indigenous Cultures of Latin America

Indigenous Cultures of Latin America: Past and Present is a new bilingual series that welcomes book proposals, in English or Spanish, focused on the fields of anthropology, archaeology, linguistics, ethnohistory, and art history, among others. We encourage original proposals for projects that use a conjunctive approach to understanding beliefs and lifeways of prehispanic, colonial period, and contemporary indigenous peoples inhabiting Latin America, broadly defined (i.e. extending into parts of the U.S. Southeast and Southwest), relying on a combination of methodologies and data sets to interpret the subject matter. We further encourage projects that utilize decolonizing methodologies and seek to promote research and fieldwork undertaken in collaboration with local indigenous communities and/or indigenous consultants. The series will publish academic monographs, edited collections, and readers. All book proposals and manuscripts will be subject to a rigorous single-blind peer review process, conducted by experts in the respective field(s) of study.
