Methodology and methods constitute the heart of social sciences and the mark of any academic endeavour. In recent years, the development of participatory methods broadly understood has led to the renewal of our methodological tools and techniques through the introduction into the research design of the citizens, the experts, the decision makers both private and public. These new methods deserve to be studied not only from an epistemological and a methodological perspective but also in their real-life applications. This series, «Méthodes participatives appliquées/Applied participatory methods», aims at fostering the debates related to the fast-growing development, renewal, and application of the participatory methods. It will be of interest to a wide readership: scholars in human and social sciences, undergraduate and graduate students, private and public decision makers, civil servants, journalists, politicians as well as citizens interested in this applied participatory perspective. This series publishes, in English or in French, both individual and collective works such as monographs (including theses), collections of articles, conference proceedings, textbooks and collections of texts for students and bibliographies. La méthodologie et les méthodes constituent indéniablement le cœur des sciences sociales et la marque de leur scientificité. Depuis plusieurs années, le développement de méthodes participatives entendues au sens large encourage le renouvellement des outils méthodologiques propres aux sciences sociales en intégrant plus directement les citoyens, les « experts » et les décideurs publics ou privés dans le dispositif de recherche. Ces nouvelles méthodes méritent d’être étudiées aussi bien épistémologiquement que méthodologiquement mais également dans leurs applications concrètes. La collection, « Méthodes participatives appliquées/Applied participatory methods », vise ainsi à enrichir les réflexions et les débats qui entourent le développement, le renouvellement et l’application des méthodes participatives. Cette collection intéressera un large public allant des chercheurs en sciences humaines et sociales aux étudiants de tous les cycles en passant par les administrateurs et décideurs privés et publics ainsi que les journalistes, les politiques et les citoyens intéressés par cette perspective participative appliquée. Cette collection publie, en français ou en anglais, des travaux individuels et collectifs, tels que des monographies (tirées ou non de thèses), des recueils d’articles, des actes de colloque, des recueils de textes commentés à destination de l’enseignement ainsi que des bibliographies.

Die Reihe “Sprachkontakte. Variation, Migration und Sprachdynamik“ erscheint unter der Herausgeberschaft von Professor Thomas Stehl mit Studien aus dem Fachbereich der Linguistik. Die Forschungsschwerpunkte liegen im Bereich einer empirisch fundierten, funktionalen Kontaktlinguistik sprachlicher Variation, Interferenz und Konvergenz in der Romania sowie der Typologie und den Prozessen von Sprachwandel und Sprachgenese in der Sprachgeschichte romanischer Sprachen. Die Qualität der in dieser Reihe erscheinenden Arbeiten wird vor der Publikation durch den Herausgeber der Reihe geprüft.

Dynamiques citoyennes en Europe / Citizenship Dynamics in Europe

Crystallization of human groups in order to constitute a place of citizenship is a complex phenomenon associating elements of identification and distinction: language, geographical origins, social classes, religion, political commitment. Through a multidisciplinary perspective, this collection brings together the works about the common research problem of «civic dynamics», itself concentrated on two main converging aspects: «secularism and religion»; «citizenships and identities». La cristallisation de groupes humains pour faire « cité » est un phénomène complexe qui associe des éléments d’’identification et de distinction : langue, origine géographique, genre, catégorie sociale, religion, engagement politique. Dans une perspective pluridisciplinaire, la collection « Dynamiques citoyennes en Europe » fédère les travaux autour de la problématique commune des « dynamiques citoyennes », elle-même articulée plus particulièrement sur deux axes convergents : « laïcité et religions » ; « citoyennetés et identités ». Elle accueille toutes sortes de publications scientifiques en français, anglais et allemand. This series publishes peer-reviewed monographs and edited volumes by internationally renowned scholars in the field of the social use of information and communication technologies (mass media included), communication studies and science and technology social studies. It provides an editorial space specifically dedicated to the collection of work that integrates new research regarding theoretical discourse, methodologies and studies from multiple disciplines such as sociology, anthropology, psychology, geography, linguistics, information science, engineering and more. The editors particularly welcome texts elaborating new theories, original methodological approaches and challenges to existing knowledge. Proposals aimed at scholars, professionals and operators working in the diverse field of participation in broadband society are invited from all disciplines. Leopoldina Fortunati is Professor of the Sociology of Communication at the Faculty of Education, University of Udine, Italy. Julian Gebhardt is a researcher and lecturer at the Faculty of Communication Studies at the University of Arts, Berlin. Jane Vincent is Visiting Fellow at the University of Surrey’s Digital World Research Centre.
