    Series Editor: Mihai Dragnea (Balkan History Association) This single-blind peer reviewed series is published in conjunction with the Balkan History Association and comprises original, high-quality disciplinary and interdisciplinary comparative study of South-East Europe from ancient to contemporary times. It welcomes submissions in several formats, including monographs, edited volumes, conference proceedings, and short form publications on various sub-disciplines of history—political, cultural, military, economic, urban, literary, oral, or the history of science communication—art history, history of religions and archaeology.   • Studies in Eastern Orthodoxy

    This series is concerned with Eastern Orthodox Christianity in its various manifestations. Originating as the church of the East Roman or Byzantine empire, Eastern Orthodoxy comprises the group of churches that owe allegiance to the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Constantinople. The Orthodox Church has exercised unparalleled influence over the history, thought, and culture of the region and remains one of the most dynamic and creative forces in Christendom today. The series will publish studies in English, both monographs and edited collections, in all areas of social, cultural, and political activity in which the Orthodox Church can be seen to have played a major role.

  • Crosscurrents: New Studies on the Middle East

    "This series will publish book-length manuscripts pertaining to the peoples of the Middle East. The Middle East is understood in the broadest sense associated with the term, and is reflective of widely shared socio-religious patterns, histories, and heritages. For the purpose of this series, the Middle East will include what is more commonly referred to as the Near East (Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Israel/Palestine); North Africa (Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Mauritania, Mali, Chad, the Sudans, and Somalia); Turkey and Iran; Saudi Arabia, Yemen, and the countries of the Arab Gulf; and, finally, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and the Central Asian Republics. The series will be interdisciplinary and inclusive of diverse topics and methodologies. Representative fields will include art, art history, architecture, language and literature, history, politics, economics, and religion. Reinterpretations, as well as investigations of the hitherto uninvestigated, will be especially welcomed. "

  • Eastern European Studies in Musicology

    This publication series was established with the aim of spreading the leading achievements of Polish, Central and Eastern European musicologists active in various fields of musicology. These fields include music history and musical traditions, ethnomusicology and musical anthropology, as well as music sociology, aesthetics and philosophy. The series will feature different genres: monographic works, collections of essays, articles and dissertations by a single author, as well as collective works and scientific conference proceedings. The editorial team will be working not only with renowned scholars but also young post-doctoral authors. Authors who arrive at music from different fields of the humanities in the context of interdisciplinary studies are also encouraged.
