Textbooks in English Language and Linguistics (TELL) is an introductory series covering the core areas of English linguistics and its most important sub-disciplines. Written in English, the TELL volumes are 200–250 pages long and serve as excellent works of reference and course material at every stage of English study programmes and are ideal literature for students preparing for examinations. The content, made accessible by clear explanations and concrete examples, is rounded off with exercises and tips for further reading. Research methods pertinent to the subject area treated by each volume are also presented and discussed. This series has been terminated after vol. 6. Content and Learner-oriented Foreign Language Pedagogy is dedicated to theoretical, practical and current issues in foreign language learning and teaching. One of the main focuses of Hannover's Department of Foreign Language Pedagogy is media didactics. It encompasses fields such as artistic media, fine arts and music, (volumes 1, 12 and 17) as well as digitized media. They are analyzed from the perspective of their potential contribution to language education (volumes 7 and 28). As well as discussing media-related pedagogy (also covered in volumes 1, 11, 15 and 20 on media didactics) this book series deals with teaching literature (volumes 5 and 10) and content and language integrated learning (CLIL) (volumes 9, 21 and 26). Over the last few years, empirical research has been published on learner language, assessment and the implementation of the language portfolio (volumes 23, 25 and 26). Previous publications have included work by guest researchers, and the publishers welcome ideas for future manuscripts. The series aims at bringing together the long-divorced disciplines of the study of language, literature and culture by inviting scholars working in each of these areas to consider the unique implications of their own field in a larger epistemic context. The interdisciplinary approach of volumes in the series should allow to develop a scholarly discourse which affords a comprehensive picture of English studies. Editors wish to include both text- and corpus-based research as well as works of theoretical concern. Monographs and collections of articles appearing in the series will focus primarily on English and American language, literature and culture, but studies with a comparative slant are also invited.

English Corpus Linguistics comprises studies that use a corpus-based methodology for the linguistic analysis of English-language real-world texts. The corpus methodology permits both synchronic and diachronic research. The outcomes may be primary linguistics research, or studies utilising concordancing tools to advance lexicographic, morphological or syntactic analyses. Founded in 1895 under the title Wiener Beiträge zur englischen Philologie and continued as Austrian Studies in English from 1995 onwards, this is one of the oldest academic series world-wide. For more than a century it has offered a platform for the publication of outstanding monographs and article collections on the languages, literatures and cultures of the anglophone world to researchers with an affiliation with Austria. We invite excellent and innovative studies on these topics to be sent to one of the editors. All manuscripts are submitted to a two-stage peer-review process to maintain the high quality of the series. *** NEW FORMAT! *** In addition to the long-standing tradition of publishing monographs and conference volumes, Austrian Studies in English now offers a new fast-track Prompts format for publication. It is an innovative format, for studies that are intermediate in length between a conventional monograph and a typical journal article (between 25,000 and 50,000 words). Its focus is thus on the succinct, yet in-depth and state-of-the-art treatment of a narrowly delimited topic. This slimmer format will allow for speedier production (while keeping the quality control and peer-review process rigorously in place), which makes this fast-track procedure particularly advantageous for topical issues in a fast-changing world. The series editor Amei Koll-Stobbe welcomes manuscript proposals, especially data orientated analyses of language competence cum performance with a priority on basic research (without any restrictions regarding theoretical and methodological frameworks). Prior to publication, the quality of the works published in this series is reviewed by external referees appointed by the editor.
