Par delà les diverses disciplines des sciences sociales, les engagements idéologiques et les préjugés des « écoles nationales », la philosophie se doit de poursuivre une recherche aussi universelle que possible du sens et de la sagesse de la vie humaine dans un monde entraîné chaotiquement vers son unité.

This series welcomes publications of European and also non-European scholars who specialize in theology, philosophy and history of religions. The series is intended to promote internationalization of the results of academic research on theological, philosophical and historical-religious questions. Contributions to the series may deal with both particular, narrow-range problems and synthetic, interdisciplinary issues. Likewise, the publications may refer to both systematic problems and more practical considerations. Especially welcome are scholarly works which deal with the significance of theological, philosophical and religious questions for modern Europe, thus enabling new ways of religion- and philosophy-based thinking about the European debates. The academic texts appearing in the series may have the forms of volume-length monographs, collections of articles, proceedings of academic societies, Festschriften, commemorative volumes as well as conference volumes.

Eastern European Culture, Politics and Societies

Studies published within the series shall cover the range of approaches starting from anthropology to sociology and applied science to literature studies, philosophy, visual arts. The series will be based among others on articles published in a academic journal “Eastern European Politics and Societies” since its funding in 1987. Individual volumes will present thematically arranged articles and essays on topics in contemporary and historical perspective on east European cultures, politics and societies. Editors seek the submission of monographs, doctoral thesis and the book manuscripts as well as collective volumes and conference proceedings. Interdisciplinary and cross disciplinary approaches are welcome.
