While most traditional world religions seem to face a fundamental identity and cultural crisis, signs are indicating that there is a universal need for new spiritual demands and revival, new awakenings of religious practices and feelings. What are the facts beyond these movements? Is there a new human religiosity in the making? This series will try to bring together witnesses, thinkers, believers and non-believers, historians, scientists of religion, theologians, psychologists, sociologists, philosophers and general writers, from different cultures and languages, to offer a broader perspective on one of the key issues of our new world civilisation in the making. Tandis que les principales religions traditionnelles du monde semblent confrontées à une crise identitaire et culturelle fondamentale, on voit partout se manifester une renaissance des besoins de spiritualité et de nouvelles pratiques religieuses. Quelles sont les motivations des hommes et des femmes qui soutiennent ces nouvelles tendances ? Assistons-nous à la naissance d’une nouvelle religiosité humaine ? Cette collection a pour but de rassembler les travaux de témoins, penseurs, croyants et incroyants, historiens, spécialistes des religions, théologiens, psychologues, sociologues, philosophes et écrivains, tous issus de différentes cultures et différentes langues, pour offrir une perspective plus large sur l’un des problèmes clés de la civilisation universelle que nous sommes en train de construire.

Religions and Discourse

«Religions and Discourse» explores religious language in the major world faiths from various viewpoints, including semiotics, pragmatics and cognitive linguistics, and reflects on how it is situated within wider intellectual and cultural contexts. In particular a key issue is the role of figurative speech. Many fascinating metaphors originate in religion e.g. revelation as a ‘garment’, apostasy as ‘adultery’, loving kindness as the ‘circumcision of the heart’. Every religion rests its specific orientations upon symbols such as these, to name but a few. The series strives after the interdisciplinary approach that brings together such diverse disciplines as religious studies, theology, sociology, philosophy, linguistics and literature, guided by an international editorial board of scholars representative of the aforementioned disciplines. Though scholarly in its scope, the series also seeks to facilitate discussions pertaining to central religious issues in contemporary contexts. The series will publish monographs and collected essays of a high scholarly standard.

De 2007 à 2011, le Comité pour l’Histoire Économique et Financière de la France du ministère de l’Économie, des Finances et de l’Emploi et du ministère du Budget, des Comptes publics et de la Fonction publique, a entretenu la collection « Économie et Histoire », dont la direction est à présent vacante. La collection contribue à la diffusion des savoirs en histoire économique et en économie. Les ouvrages concernent toutes les périodes depuis le Moyen Âge jusqu’à nos jours. Cette collection a pour vocation d’accueillir les travaux d’auteurs français mais aussi étrangers, de chercheurs reconnus ou de jeunes universitaires ainsi que d’acteurs de la vie économique et financière, sous forme de monographies ou d’actes de colloques. Bible in History focuses on biblical interpretation in different ages and countries and is a series dedicated to studies of biblical exegesis as well as to research about principles of interpretation relevant to interpreters of the Bible. The series is open to studies focusing on philological and theological aspects of particular Bible passages but it also welcomes publications in the field of history of biblical interpretation that study the development of new ideas and their impact on the interpretation of the text. Editions of textual variants as well as of influential old and modern commentaries are also within the scope of this series. Etant ouverte à l'exégèse biblique dans son aspect philologique et théologique, cette collection cherche par ailleurs à promouvoir les publications dans le domaine de l'histoire d'interprétation, ainsi que celles étudiant comment l'introduction des nouveaux principes a permis l'ajustement de l'ancien sens à la réalité d'aujourd'hui. The book series "Religionswissenschaft / Studies in Comparative Religion" publishes studies in Religions of Asia in history and the present, either as monographs or edited volumes. Topics to be dealt with in the series cover local traditions and developments both of "world religions" and minority religions, geographically focussing on South, Southeast and Western Asia. Also studies in theory and methods of religion are welcome. The book series publishes books in German, English or French. The series was discontinued in December 2022. Die Reihe "Religionswissenschaft / Studies in Comparative Religion" bietet innerhalb des Gebiets der Religionswissenschaft ein Forum für die Veröffentlichung von Studien zu Religionen Asiens. Die Monographien und Sammelbände der Reihe behandeln sowohl lokale Ausformungen von Buddhismus, Hinduismus, Islam, Zoroastrismus und Christentum als auch religiöse Minderheiten in Geschichte und Gegenwart. Ein gewisser geographischer Fokus liegt dabei auf Süd-, Südost- und Westasien. Genauso bietet die Reihe aktuellen Studien zu Religionstheorie, religionswissenschaftlicher Methodik und Religionsphilosophie im internationalen Vergleich passenden Raum. Die Reihe erscheint in deutscher, englischer und französischer Sprache. Die Reihe wurde im Dezember 2022 eingestellt.

La collection «Histoire de l’énergie» est née du constat de l’éparpillement des publications sur le thème de l’énergie, au moment même où les approches sont en train d’être profondément renouvelées. Le projet scientifique de la collection consiste à rendre compte, par des publications de thèses, d’actes de colloques ou de travaux de recherche, de la diversité des approches scientifiques. L’objectif est de proposer une vaste réflexion sur les différentes énergies, tant pour ce qui est de leur production que de leur consommation. Les acteurs (entreprises, États, consommateurs), les marchés, les modes de vie conduisent à privilégier une approche globale dans laquelle les différentes énergies sont tout à la fois concurrentes et complémentaires.En adoptant ces perspectives volontairement larges, la collection «Histoire de l’énergie» entend servir de point d’ancrage à des travaux académiques et de faciliter leur diffusion. The series «History of Energy» brings together diverse academic publications on questions of energy, at a time when academic approaches are undergoing profound changes. The series aims to show the variety of these approaches by publishing PhD theses, conference proceedings and other research. Actors (such as companies, states and consumers), markets and lifestyles all contribute to the global analysis developed in the series, in which all aspects of energy are considered. The series provides an outlet for new and original contributions to the history of energy.

Pour une histoire nouvelle de l’Europe

Cette collection a été conçue comme représentative des travaux du Labex (laboratoire d’excellence) EHNE, « Écrire une histoire nouvelle de l’Europe », créé en 2012. Renonçant à une approche dominée par les dimensions politique et institutionnelle, EHNE appréhende l’histoire selon une démarche thématique recouvrant une large palette de champs qu’elle saisit dans leurs évolutions autonomes. Elle revêt une dimension globale en ce qu’elle cherche à comprendre les transversalités et les modes d’interaction existant entre ces champs en vue d’une interprétation d’ensemble. Les travaux du Labex EHNE s’articulent ainsi autour de sept axes : « L’Europe comme produit de la civilisation matérielle », « L’Europe dans une épistémologie du politique », « L’humanisme européen ou la construction d’une Europe « pour soi » entre affirmation et crise identitaires », « L’Europe, les européens et le monde », « L’Europe des guerres et des traces de guerre », « Genre et identités européennes », « Traditions nationales, circulations et identités dans l’art européen ». La collection « Pour une histoire nouvelle de l’Europe » réunit les travaux, monographies, colloques ou tables rondes, issus des travaux d’EHNE. Ces derniers se veulent des contributions et synthèses partielles constitutives d’une entreprise d’ensemble se développant sur plusieurs années.

Fondée en 1998 par la Direction des Archives du ministère français des Affaires étrangères, la collection « Diplomatie et Histoire » a vocation à publier des ouvrages traitant des relations internationales ; elle accueille ainsi largement les travaux de jeunes chercheurs ayant utilisé les ressources documentaires des fonds d’’archives diplomatiques. La collection couvre un large spectre typologique –– étude des relations bilatérales, biographies, édition de textes – et chronologique du Moyen-Âge à la seconde moitié du XXe siècle. The series is intended to promote internationalization of the results of academic research on theological, philosophical and historical-religious questions. Elle accueille des ouvrages de recherche en histoire qui s’inscrivent dans l’un ou plusieurs des trois champs privilégiés du CREHS　: l’histoire de l’éducation, c’est-à-dire celle des institutions scolaires et universitaires, des élèves et des professionnels de l’enseignement　en Europe　; l’histoire des identités religieuses de l’Antiquité à nos jours en Europe　; l’histoire des patrimoines, des territoires matériels et immatériels qui les accueillent et de l’économie qui les fait vivre. La collection est ouverte à tout auteur, qu’il soit membre du CREHS ou non, sous réserve qu’il satisfasse à la ligne éditoriale. Debates about religion, education and values are more central to contemporary society than ever before. The challenges posed by the interaction between these different spheres will continue to increase as the effects of globalization and cultural pluralization impact on educational settings. Our radically changed and rapidly changing environment poses critical questions about how we should educate individuals to live in increasingly diverse societies. This series of monographs and books is designed as a contribution to the scholarly and academic understanding of religion. Such understanding is taken to involve both a descriptive and an explanatory task. Wissenschaft und Religion

Die Reihe Wissenschaft und Religion veröffentlicht Arbeiten, die an der Universität Salzburg oder in Kooperation mit Salzburger Universitätslehrern entstehen und sich mit einem religionswissenschaftlichen Gegenstand befassen. Ihre Themen reichen hierbei von historischen Einzelanalysen bis zu Beiträgen zur (Wirtschafts-)Ethik in Verbindung mit den Weltreligionen. Gründer der Reihe sind Univ.-Prof. Dr. Hans Paarhammer (†) und Ao. Univ.-Prof. Dr. Alfred Rinnerthaler.

Documents pour l'Histoire des Francophonies

Les dernières décennies du XXe siècle ont été caractérisées par l’émergence et la reconnaissance en tant que telles des littératures francophones. Ce processus ouvre le devenir du français à une pluralité dont il s’agit de se donner, désormais, les moyens d’approche et de compréhension. Cela implique la prise en compte des historicités de ces différentes cultures et littératures. Dans cette optique, la collection « Documents pour l’Histoire des Francophonies » entend mettre à la disposition du chercheur et du public, de façon critique ou avec un appareil critique, des textes oubliés, parfois inédits. Elle publie également des travaux qui touchent à la complexité comme aux enracinements historiques des francophonies et qui cherchent à tracer des pistes de réflexion transversales susceptibles de tirer de leur ghetto respectif les études francophones, voire d’avancer dans la problématique des rapports entre langue et littérature. Elle comporte une série consacrée à l’Europe, une à l’Afrique, une aux Amériques, et une aux problèmes théoriques des francophonies. "Both at home and abroad religion is recognized as an important factor in many aspects of life-political, cultural, and economic. To assist an informed public debate, this series publishes innovative studies of unquestionably high standards of scholarship an the role of religion and religiously motivated convictions in politics and public life. Preference is given to interdisciplinary and comparative approaches that explore the historical, conceptual, and normative issues that come to bear an the political and public rote of religion, as well as the nature of values and structures of arguments relevant to general policy concerns. The books in this series include monographs, anthologies, and textbooks. They are of particular lnterest to political scientists, historians, philosophers, theologians, and legal and social analysts. Three ideas guide this series: (1) The role of religion in the making of public policy has become and is likely to remain a subject of considerable debate in American society; (2) Despite a political and constitutional tradition that separates religion and government, there is neither conceptual clarity nor political consensus an how to resolve the many dilemmas created by the presence of religion in the public sphere; (3) There is an urgent need to develop interdisciplinary models for understanding the rote, if any, that religion ought to play in our political and public lives. "

Les dernières décennies du XXe siècle ont été caractérisées par l’émergence et la reconnaissance en tant que telles des littératures francophones. Ce processus ouvre le devenir du français à une pluralité dont il s’agit de se donner, désormais, les moyens d’approche et de compréhension. Cela implique la prise en compte des historicités de ces différentes cultures et littératures. Dans cette optique, la collection « Documents pour l’Histoire des Francophonies » entend mettre à la disposition du chercheur et du public, de façon critique ou avec un appareil critique, des textes oubliés, parfois inédits.
