Historically, inclusive education developed as a reaction to the exclusion of students of minoritized identity groups marked by race, language, sexual orientation, disability, etc. Our position in this series is that inclusion can and should be more. It can be understood as embracing and planning for difference, building relationships across difference, teaching and learning that acknowledges and supports difference while also minimizing the use of identity categories as the foundation for arguments about inclusion. In other words, the silos of educational discourse based on identity categories need to be broken down, little by little, to reconceptualize inclusion as just, compassionate, and creative ways of living, teaching, and learning in a complex and diverse world. Inclusive teaching depends on deeply respectful relationships between teachers, students, and community members. Books in the series must make clear connections between theory and practice. The collection provides a platform for comparative and critical scholarly work on historical, artistic, literary, cultural, scientific, commercial and religious relations between Portugal and Great Britain, Europe’s oldest allies (Anglo-Portuguese Studies), and between Spain and Great Britain (Anglo-Spanish Studies). The aim of the collection is to foreground areas of multidisciplinary connections between the Iberian Peninsula and Great Britain, as well as between Portuguese- Spanish- and English-speaking communities all over the world. We welcome proposals from a variety of disciplinary backgrounds. The series publishes books in English, Portuguese and Spanish. "This series deals with the relationship between literary creation and the social, political, and historical contexts in which it is produced. The types of volumes may include critical analyses of one or more works by one or several authors; critical editions of important works that may have been out of print for a long time, but which represent a major contribution to literature of the Iberian Peninsula or Latin America, English translations of important works, with critical introduction. Topics for Latin America include: studies of representative works of nineteenth- and twentieth-century thought, poetic portrayals of history, subgenres (fictionalization of the rural and urban social structures); historical novels; literature of exile; re-readings of colonial texts; new approaches to the figure of the Indian and other representatives of transculturation; women writers and other less studied authors. Topics for Spain and Portugal include: writing and nationalism in the Spanish State; bilingualism and the literary texts; censorship and exile; new and renewed genres such as autobiography and testimony; the formation of the avant-garde. Formal studies are expected to bear out the general contextual focus of the series. The use of recent developments in literary criticism is especially appropriate. The series also seeks to contribute to the understanding and accuracy of interpretation of the writing which has combined European elements with indigenous and African ones as well as to the understanding of the dynamics behind such major cultural issues as the formation of literary trends or subgenres, national identities, the effects of postcolonial status on literary imagination, the appearance and experience of women writers, and the relationships between post-modernism and Ibero-American writing. The series title is inclusive of literatures which are geographically, historically, or politically related and whose comparison is relevant to Spanish and Spanish American writing. Géopolitique et résolution des conflits / Geopolitics and Conflict Resolution
This series welcomes contributions seeking to analyse the geopolitical changes which have been such a prominent feature of the European and world arena since 1989. At the European level, there is a particular focus on post-Cold War conflicts along with the transformation which has occurred in relations between the European Union and major powers. At a world level, major upheavals have radically altered the ground rules for understanding conflicts and crises. They have also had far-reaching implications for the prevention, management and resolution of disputes. In this context, the series is open to theoretical and empirical studies which critically examine the international implications and progress of specific conflicts and peace processes. The scientific board of the «Geopolitics and Conflict Resolution» series is made up of the members of the Centre d'études des crises et des conflits internationaux of the Université catholique de Louvain (CECRI-UCL) and of the «EU-Russia» and «EU-China» Baillet Latour Chairs UCL-KUL. Cette collection accueille des travaux dont l’objectif est d’analyser les changements géopolitiques ayant marqué la scène européenne et mondiale depuis 1989. Au niveau européen, une attention particulière est consacrée aux conflits post-guerre froide ainsi qu’à la transformation des relations entre l’Union européenne et les grandes puissances. Au niveau mondial, d’intenses bouleversements ont radicalement modifié les grilles de lecture des crises et des conflits, qu’il s’agisse de la prévention, de la gestion ou de la résolution de ceux-ci. Dans cette perspective, la collection est ouverte aux réflexions théoriques et aux études empiriques portant sur le déroulement et les implications internationales de conflits et processus de paix spécifiques. La collection « Géopolitique et résolution des conflits » réunit dans son équipe éditoriale les membres du Centre d’études des crises et des conflits internationaux de l’Université catholique de Louvain (CECRI-UCL) et des Chaires Baillet Latour « Union européenne – Russie » et « Union européenne – Chine » UCL-KUL.

Anthropologie et philosophie sociale

Cette collection a pour objectif de promouvoir des recherches philosophiques se situant au croisement de lanthropologie et de la philosophie sociale. Lhypothèse fondamentale est quune philosophie sociale soucieuse dinterroger de façon à la fois descriptive et critique les modes contemporains de constitution du lien social ne peut manquer de questionner les présupposés anthropologiques qui sous-tendent son interrogation. Inversement, toute recherche sur les dimensions essentielles de la condition humaine se doit dinterroger la façon dont celles-ci sont chaque fois mises en jeu et recomposées par le contexte social-historique au sein duquel les individus se trouvent. Attentive à la vulnérabilité radicale de la vie individuelle et collective tout autant quà sa puissance de création, cette collection vise à faire de lanthropologie et de la philosophie sociale lenvers et lendroit dun même mouvement de recherche portant sur la vie subjective et sa socialité originaire. Dans cette perspective, il sagit, pour une part, de favoriser la reprise de concepts anthropologiques récents ou provenant de lépaisseur de lhistoire de façon à les rendre opératoires pour une philosophie sociale questionnant ses propres présupposés anthropologiques. Il sagit, pour une seconde part, de permettre aux recherches effectuées en anthropologie de questionner leurs présupposés normatifs. Une telle collection désire ainsi ouvrir un espace de réflexion informé par un double mouvement, celui de lanthropologie vers la philosophie sociale, celui de la philosophie sociale vers lanthropologie.

ECHO est une collection dirigée par l'Institut d'archéologie et d'histoire ancienne (IAHA) de l'Université de Lausanne. Elle présente les travaux conduits dans le cadre de l'IAHA dans le domaine de l'histoire ancienne, de l'épigraphie et de la numismatique grecques et romaines, de l'archéologie, de la littérature, philologie et philosophie antiques. Des actes de colloques, des cycles de conférences, des thèses de doctorat, des travaux de jeunes chercheurs ou d'enseignants universitaires y prennent place, soulignant ainsi le caractère dynamique, multidisciplinaire et international des recherches menées à l'IAHA. Le volume 14 conclut la collection.

This «Social Economy & Public Economy» series brings together books and monographs with a common focus: the analysis of the economic activities of formal and informal organisations that aim to serve the «public/general interest» or broad «common welfare» of their societies. Diverse initiatives and a wide variety of organisational forms are concerned: public or private nonprofit organisations and services, social services, public utilities, regulatory rules and actions, public enterprises, local community and regional economic development bodies, cooperatives, mutualist enterprises, etc. The series aims to promote a more scientific, and in-depth international and comparative understanding of this type of research that has been rapidly expanding in recent years. The series will reflect about these developments and through its dissemination, it will also support the increasing inter-disciplinarity and multi-disciplinarity of much of this recent research (e.g. economics, sociology, political science, law, policy evaluation and policy analysis, etc.) Editorial responsibility for the series resides with CIRIEC, an international scientific organisation that promotes, supports and disseminates research on the public economy, the social economy, and cooperatives. One of CIRIEC’s key goals and activities is the promotion, support, and expansion of a large international network of researchers who specialise in these issues. This series will allow the publication of work by members of this network as well as providing an outlet for any related research work by other people outside the existing CIRIEC network. La collection « Économie sociale & Économie publique » rassemble des ouvrages proposant, dans une perspective de comparaison internationale, des analyses des organisations et des activités économiques orientées vers l’intérêt général et l’intérêt collectif : services sociaux, services publics, régulation, entreprises publiques, action économique des entités territoriales (régions, autorités locales), coopératives, mutuelles, associations, ... Dans un contexte de « grande transformation », l’activité scientifique dans ce domaine s’y est fortement développée et la collection se veut un nouveau vecteur de diffusion et de valorisation de cette activité dans une approche pluridisciplinaire (économie, sciences sociales, droit, sciences politiques, ...). La collection est placée sous la responsabilité éditoriale du CIRIEC. Organisation internationale à but scientifique, le CIRIEC a pour objet la réalisation et la diffusion de la recherche sur l’économie publique et l’économie sociale et coopérative. Une de ses principales activités est l’animation d’un vaste réseau international de chercheurs dans ces domaines. La collection permet de publier des ouvrages réalisés par les membres de ce réseau, mais est aussi ouverte à des personnes extérieures à ce réseau.

Critique sociale et pensée juridique

Marginalisée pendant plusieurs décennies comme une idéologie de combat ou une entreprise fataliste, la critique sociale est revenue en force tant à la faveur des relectures contemporaines du post-structuralisme qu’à travers les perspectives nouvelles ouvertes par les diverses figures du post-marxisme et du néo-pragmatisme. Un point commun de cette « nouvelle critique sociale » est d’accueillir des recherches provenant de différents champs disciplinaires privilégiant les questions de théorie de l’action et de transformation des formes de participation collective. La présente collection propose de contribuer à ce mouvement en ciblant plus spécifiquement son impact sur la pensée juridique dans ses liens aux changements sociaux et ceci à travers deux séries spécialisées, l’une consacrées aux « études idéalistes », l’autre aux « études décoloniales ». De fait, ces deux traditions, l’une historique, l’autre actuelle, se rejoignent dans le projet d’identifier les conditions à remplir pour parvenir, collectivement, à une critique rigoureuse du pouvoir attribué à des systèmes juridiques constamment menacés par la réification de leurs pratiques et dès lors impuissants à accompagner les grands changements de société. La collection s’inscrit dans la tradition de recherche initiée par Jacques Lenoble, André Berten et Marc Maesschalck à l’Université de Louvain en théorie de la norme et en philosophie de l’action.

Documents diplomatiques français – Armistices et Paix (1918-1920), sous la direction de Robert Frank et Gert Krumeich
Présenter, année par année, les documents les plus significatifs de la politique étrangère de la France et conservés par le ministère des affaires étrangères : tel est l’objet des « Documents diplomatiques français » (DDF). La sélection de ces documents est faite d’une façon rigoureusement scientifique et en toute indépendance par des équipes de chercheurs et d’historiens sous la direction d’éminents universitaires. Pour ce faire, ces équipes ont un accès total à toutes les archives produites ou reçues par le ministère français des affaires étrangères. La sélection des documents publiés est complétée, pour en rendre la lecture plus aisée, par une table méthodique, des notes de bas de page et un index des noms de personnes. La collection des DDF est un outil indispensable à la connaissance de l’histoire des relations internationales et de la diplomatie française au cours du XXe siècle.
