In der Reihe “Erfahrung und Theologie“ werden seit 1978 einschlägige Monographien und Sammelbände aus dem Bereich der Theologie herausgegeben. Die hauptsächlich auf Deutsch, aber auch auf Spanisch und Englisch publizierten Beiträge beschäftigen sich mit dem gesamten Feld der praktischen Theologie. Die Themen sind unter anderen in der Religionsphilosophie, der Wirtschaftsethik oder der kirchlichen Mitbestimmung zu verorten. Die Herausgeber sind Theologen sowie Professoren für Praktische Theologie. Die Regensburger Studien zur Theologie veröffentlichen in italienischer, französischer, englischer und deutscher Sprachen Monographien zu einem breiten Spektrum von Themen der Theologie, unter anderem zur Fundamentaltheologie, Dogmatik, Patrologie und Religionspädagogik. Teil der Reihe sind auch Untersuchungen zu einzelnen Theologen. Mit Band 69 wurde die Reihe abgeschlossen. Die Reihe Forum Fundamentaltheologie ist ein Publikationsforum für Arbeiten, die sich mit den klassischen Fragestellungen des Faches auseinandersetzen. Denn zweifelsohne gilt insbesondere für die europäische Kulturgeschichte, dass sie ohne die Theologie in ihren vielfältigen Erscheinungsformen nicht denkbar ist. Die Arbeiten vertreten den jeweils eigenen methodischen und hermeneutischen Standort, beteiligen sich aber intensiv am transdisziplinären Diskurs. "The 20th century made sub-Saharan Africa a Christian continent. This formidable church growth is reflected in a wide range of attempts at contextualizing Christian theology and biblical interpretation in Africa.
