Littératures de langue française

« Littératures de langue française » se propose de promouvoir les recherches sur les auteurs, courants et grandes aventures littéraires qui ont marqué la France et le monde francophone du XIXe siècle jusqu’à nos jours. S’intéressant de manière privilégiée au renouvellement des formes d’écriture et des genres littéraires qui caractérise cette période, elle accueille des études qui abordent auteurs et textes de manière scientifique et originale, selon des méthodes critiques qui recourent à ou concilient herméneutique, approche génétique et archivistique, approche poéticienne. Le roman, le théâtre et la poésie jusqu’à l’extrême-contemporain, mais aussi l’essai ou l’exégèse intéressent cette collection de même que des problématiques et thématiques transversales, abordées éventuellement de manière pluridisciplinaire, qui envisagent l’évolution et la transformation des formes littéraires. La collection accorde une place particulière à la littérature francophone, provenant d’aires traditionnellement francophones ou d’auteurs ayant adopté la langue française pour langue de création. Monographies, actes de colloques ou journées d’études, thèses de doctorat, publication d’inédits et éditions critiques trouvent leur place dans cette collection et manifestent le caractère innovant de la recherche littéraire dans le domaine contemporain.

The Leeds Colloquia on Contemporary German Literature series is the successor to the Bradford Series of Colloquia on Contemporary German Literature. Like its precursor, the Leeds Series has as its focal point of departure a three-day, biennial colloquium devoted to a particular theme. The colloquia have been supported by a range of cultural institutions over the years including the Goethe Institut, Austrian Cultural Forum and Modern Humanities Research Association, enabling them to act as a forum for dialogue between Germanisten in the German-speaking world and established and aspiring scholars based in the UK, Ireland, the USA and Australia. It is of equal importance that a broad understanding of what constitutes literary writing is fostered. Thus while ‘canonical’ literary figures have always featured, there has been a commitment to new writing which has given rise to the first academic discussions in English of several significant contemporary writers. The organising editors are Professor Julian Preece (University of Wales, Swansea) and Professor Frank Finlay (University of Leeds) who work in tandem with an international Advisory Board. La collection Transversales propose une plate-forme de débats, de confrontations des travaux portant sur le plurilinguisme et la pluriculturalité. Elle s’intéresse aux intersections possibles entre langues, sociétés et cultures, notamment à travers l’analyse de situations de contacts entre les individus et groupes dans le cadre de politiques linguistiques au sein des institutions éducatives au sens large. On y aborde aussi les questions liées aux personnes en situation de mobilité et à leurs stratégies linguistiques, sociales, culturelles mises en Œœuvre dans la communication quotidienne. Par des approches bi- ou pluridisciplinaires, Transversales interroge les conceptions de l’altérité, l’évolution des représentations véhiculées dans l’apprentissage des langues et dans la formation des médiateurs culturels.

Studies in Modern German and Austrian Literature is a broadly conceived series that aims to publish significant research and scholarship devoted to German and Austrian literature of all forms and genres from the eighteenth century to the present day. The series promotes the analysis of intersections of literature with thought, society and other art forms, such as film, theatre, autobiography, music, painting, sculpture and performance art. It includes monographs on single authors or works, focused historical periods, and studies of experimentation with form and genre. Wider ranging explorations of literary, cultural or socio-political phenomena in the German-speaking lands or among writers in exile and analyses of national, ethnic and cultural identities in literature are also welcome topics. Proposals are invited for monographs, high-quality doctoral dissertations revised for book publication, focused collections of essays (including selectively edited conference proceedings), annotated editions and bibliographies. Senior figures in the academic profession as well as early career or independent scholars are encouraged to submit proposals. All proposals and manuscripts will be peer reviewed. We publish in both German and English. This series is a successor to Studies in Modern German Literature, edited by Peter D.G. Brown.

Women, Gender and Sexuality in German Literature and Culture

Women, Gender and Sexuality in German Literature and Culture welcomes proposals for monographs and rigorously edited essay collections focusing on the work of women and LGBTQ+ creators as well as the representation of women, gender and/or sexuality in literature, media and culture. The series contributes to efforts to broaden the German-language canon by publishing pioneering studies of relatively unknown writers, artists and filmmakers and cutting-edge assessments of more established figures. Studies of the history of women and LGBTQ+ subjects in German-speaking cultures, such as the participation of women in German, Austrian, Swiss and exile intellectual life and the struggle for equal rights, as well as historical considerations of gender and sexuality in German-speaking countries, are also encouraged. La collection Perspectives francophones se consacre à la recherche sur les littératures de langue française des xxe et xxie siècles. Fruit d’une collaboration universitaire entre spécialistes d’Allemagne, de France et d’ailleurs, elle fait se rencontrer différentes perspectives théoriques comme culturelles sur les textes et favorise le dialogue entre chercheurs expérimentés et jeunes chercheurs. Les volumes qui la composent sont guidés par l’idée qu’une approche transnationale permet de mieux cerner les lignes de convergence des écritures contemporaines et leurs évolutions esthétiques au fil d’une histoire littéraire au long cours. En misant sur la productivité de tels échanges, la collection ambitionne de renouveler nos modalités de lecture et de scruter depuis une perspective transversale les grands enjeux de la littérature d’aujourd’hui.

The aim of the series is to offer contributions by North American scholars who have rediscovered once significant authors, genres or modes of production and consumption; reevaluated canonical or other texts and their contexts; or explored other forms of expression, such as journalism, letters or diaries. This scholarship serves to renew our understanding and appreciation of a body of work that was acknowledged as internationally important in the nineteenth century and that still speaks to us today."

The "Worlds of Portuguese Language" series encompasses different cultural domains related to the Portuguese language without restrictions of thematic, historical or geographical kind. The underlining notion of language is that of a space of deconstruction, conducive to a broader reflection on spatial and temporal correlations, forms of porosity, mobility and exchange within a broad thematic and disciplinary horizon. To promote interdisciplinarity for a global understanding of cultural phenomena is one of our main concerns. From intercultural and plurilingual heritage, and their embodiment of a certain idea of ​​translation, to visual and performing arts, the series welcomes reflections on the text in its different literary modes (whether lyrical, narrative or dramatic) and on inter-artistic approaches which bring together different semiotic systems. Questions arising from postcolonial and postdictatorial memory will put in perspective major research topics related to the representation of the physical and social body, migration and new approaches to pedagogy and teaching. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mundos de língua portuguesa é uma coleção que tem por vocação abordar os diversos domínios culturais em ligação com a língua portuguesa sem restrição temática, temporal ou geográfica. Les héritages interculturels et plurilingues, leurs rapports avec une idée de traduction sont abordés ainsi que les arts visuels et de la scène, le texte dans ses différents modes (lyrique, narratif, dramatique), en ouvrant sur une approche inter artistique qui comprend plusieurs systèmes sémiotiques. A partir des questions de la mémoire post postcoloniale et post-dictatoriale, sont mises en perspective des thématiques abordant les représentations du corps physique et social, la migration ainsi que les nouvelles approches de pédagogie et d’enseignement. --------------------------------- Mundos de língua portuguesa é uma coleção que tem por vocação abordar os diversos domínios culturais em ligação com a língua portuguesa sem restrição temática, temporal ou geográfica. A língua é aqui concebida como um espaço de desconstrução, propício a uma reflexão alargada sobre as mobilidades espácio-temporais, as porosidades, os intercâmbios e as comunicações num largo horizonte temático e disciplinar. O objetivo é o de valorizar a interdisciplinaridade visando uma compreensão global dos fenómenos culturais. As heranças interculturais e plurilingues, as suas relações com uma ideia da tradução são abordadas assim como as artes visuais e de cena, o texto nos seus diferentes modos (lírico, narrativo, dramático), abrindo para uma abordagem interartística que engloba vários sistemas semióticos. A partir das questões da memória pós-colonial e pós-ditatorial são postas em perspetiva temáticas que desenvolvem as representações do corpo físico e social, as migrações assim como as novas abordagens de pedagogia e de ensino.
