Hip Hop Studies and Activism

Hip Hop Studies and Activism book series is the first ever book series dedicated to hip hop studies. This series is an intersectional, interdisciplinary liberatory project that promotes justice, equity, and inclusion. Hip Hop Studies and Activism book series will connect with a broad range of disciplines such as feminism, globalization, economics, science, history, environmental studies, media studies, political science, sociology, religion, anthropology, philosophy, education, and cultural studies. Against apolitical scholarship, Hip Hop studies argues for an engaged critical praxis that promotes the listening and defending space and place for marginalized and silenced communities especially Communities of Color and Youth of Color. Hip hop activism is committed to social action, advocacy, and activism, while other book series are more rooted in theory and apolitical analysis. We will therefore, make a strong effort to publish People and Youth of Color.

In Professionen lässt sich die Berufsausübung nur sehr begrenzt standardisieren. Es muss eine den Fall in seiner Gesamtheit würdigende Behandlung eingerichtet werden. Dies setzt ein Verstehen der Fallprob-lematik voraus. Dafür sind diagnostische bzw. fallverstehende Kompetenzen nötig, die durch die Einübung in rekonstruktive Methoden des Fallverstehens vermittelt werden können. Neben dieser Vermittlung in der Ausbildung ist die professionelle Praxis auf eine die Fallintervention rekonstruierende Evaluation ange-wiesen, um eine bestimmte Intervention zu überprüfen und wenn nötig auch andere Möglichkeiten zu finden. Darüber hinaus bieten sich fallrekonstruktive Vorgehensweisen in der Forschung zur Untersu-chung von verschiedenen, insbesondere professionalisierungstheoretischen, Fragestellungen an. Weil diese Verfahren in den Professionen trotz ihrer Leistungsfähigkeit noch relativ wenig bekannt sind, soll mit der Reihe zur Verbreitung solcher Ansätze beigetragen werden. Besonders wichtig sind sie in Medizin, Jurisprudenz, Theologie, Pädagogik, Psychologie, Polizei, Kriminologie, Sozialarbeit, Sozialpädagogik, Supervision, Organisationsberatung, Soziologie, Politologie, Ethnologie sowie bei gestaltenden und künst-lerischen Berufen. Die Reihe umfasst Forschungsberichte, Sammelbände, Tagungsdokumentationen, Dissertationen, Habili-tationen und Lehrbücher in deutscher und englischer Sprache.

The series, seeking to present the richness that this expansion of points of view constitutes, will welcome studies making it possible to confront the data and the observations of research centered on the linguistic system with those of studies exploring other areas of research on the operation of language in specific contexts: the area of acquisition, the area of teaching/learning, the area of different types of variation, diachronic, diatopic, diastratic, oral/written, etc. All the volumes published in the series «GRAMM-R» will be subject to double blind peer review. La collection « GRAMM-R. Études de Linguistique française » a pour but de rendre accessibles les travaux de linguistique française, en tenant compte, à la fois, des grandes théories linguistiques, de la multiplication des recherches dans des domaines connexes et de la diversification des points de vue sur le langage. Die Reihe Schriften zur deutschen Sprache in Österreich veröffentlicht Studien und Forschungsergebnisse aus der Linguistik mit einem Schwerpunkt auf der deutschen Sprache in Österreich in ihrer linguistischen wie soziolinguistischen Vielfalt. Dabei finden Studien zur Variationslinguistik und Dialektologie ebenso Berücksichtigung wie Arbeiten zum Sprachkontakt, zu Spracheinstellungen und Sprachperzeption, zur Sprachgeschichte und zum Sprachwandel.

«Religions and Discourse» explores religious language in the major world faiths from various viewpoints, including semiotics, pragmatics and cognitive linguistics, and reflects on how it is situated within wider intellectual and cultural contexts. In particular a key issue is the role of figurative speech. Many fascinating metaphors originate in religion e.g. revelation as a ‘garment’, apostasy as ‘adultery’, loving kindness as the ‘circumcision of the heart’. Every religion rests its specific orientations upon symbols such as these, to name but a few. The series strives after the interdisciplinary approach that brings together such diverse disciplines as religious studies, theology, sociology, philosophy, linguistics and literature, guided by an international editorial board of scholars representative of the aforementioned disciplines. Though scholarly in its scope, the series also seeks to facilitate discussions pertaining to central religious issues in contemporary contexts. The series will publish monographs and collected essays of a high scholarly standard.

Studies in Biblical Hebrew

Studies in Biblical Hebrew is series of monographs designed to promote and publish topical research into the Hebrew of the Old Testament. The series does not assume that Biblical Hebrew is a form of the Aramaic languages (Canaanite) spoken from c. 1200 B.C. to c. 200 B.C., given standardized form only later and then perpetuated as a fixed literary medium. The focus of the series is specifically the corpus of the Old Testament, since the composition and compilation of these writings continue to generate major interest worldwide for reasons historical and academic, as well as religious. The series is devoted to fresh philological, syntactical, and linguistic study of the language of the Hebrew canon, with the subsidiary aim of displaying the contribution of such study to informed and accurate exegesis.
