The "Worlds of Portuguese Language" series encompasses different cultural domains related to the Portuguese language without restrictions of thematic, historical or geographical kind. The underlining notion of language is that of a space of deconstruction, conducive to a broader reflection on spatial and temporal correlations, forms of porosity, mobility and exchange within a broad thematic and disciplinary horizon. To promote interdisciplinarity for a global understanding of cultural phenomena is one of our main concerns. From intercultural and plurilingual heritage, and their embodiment of a certain idea of ​​translation, to visual and performing arts, the series welcomes reflections on the text in its different literary modes (whether lyrical, narrative or dramatic) and on inter-artistic approaches which bring together different semiotic systems. Questions arising from postcolonial and postdictatorial memory will put in perspective major research topics related to the representation of the physical and social body, migration and new approaches to pedagogy and teaching. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mundos de língua portuguesa é uma coleção que tem por vocação abordar os diversos domínios culturais em ligação com a língua portuguesa sem restrição temática, temporal ou geográfica. O objetivo é o de valorizar a interdisciplinaridade visando uma compreensão global dos fenómenos culturais. As heranças interculturais e plurilingues, as suas relações com uma ideia da tradução são abordadas assim como as artes visuais e de cena, o texto nos seus diferentes modos (lírico, narrativo, dramático), abrindo para uma abordagem interartística que engloba vários sistemas semióticos. A partir das questões da memória pós-colonial e pós-ditatorial são postas em perspetiva temáticas que desenvolvem as representações do corpo físico e social, as migrações assim como as novas abordagens de pedagogia e de ensino. Mondes de langue portugaise est une collection qui a pour vocation d’aborder les divers domaines culturels en lien avec la langue portugaise sans restriction thématique, temporelle ou géographique. La langue est ici conçue comme espace de déconstruction, propice à une réflexion élargie sur les mobilités spatio-temporelles, les porosités, les échanges et les communications dans un large horizon thématique et disciplinaire. L’objectif est de valoriser l’interdisciplinarité pour une compréhension globale des phénomènes culturels. Les héritages interculturels et plurilingues, leurs rapports avec une idée de traduction sont abordés ainsi que les arts visuels et de la scène, le texte dans ses différents modes (lyrique, narratif, dramatique), en ouvrant sur une approche inter artistique qui comprend plusieurs systèmes sémiotiques. Littératures de langue française

« Littératures de langue française » se propose de promouvoir les recherches sur les auteurs, courants et grandes aventures littéraires qui ont marqué la France et le monde francophone du XIXe siècle jusqu’à nos jours. S’intéressant de manière privilégiée au renouvellement des formes d’écriture et des genres littéraires qui caractérise cette période, elle accueille des études qui abordent auteurs et textes de manière scientifique et originale, selon des méthodes critiques qui recourent à ou concilient herméneutique, approche génétique et archivistique, approche poéticienne. Le roman, le théâtre et la poésie jusqu’à l’extrême-contemporain, mais aussi l’essai ou l’exégèse intéressent cette collection de même que des problématiques et thématiques transversales, abordées éventuellement de manière pluridisciplinaire, qui envisagent l’évolution et la transformation des formes littéraires. La collection accorde une place particulière à la littérature francophone, provenant d’aires traditionnellement francophones ou d’auteurs ayant adopté la langue française pour langue de création. Monographies, actes de colloques ou journées d’études, thèses de doctorat, publication d’inédits et éditions critiques trouvent leur place dans cette collection et manifestent le caractère innovant de la recherche littéraire dans le domaine contemporain.

Recherches en littérature et spiritualité

La collection « Recherches en littérature et spiritualité », fondée en 2001 par Gérard Nauroy, est dirigée par le centre « Écritures » de l’Université de Lorraine (Metz). Elle rassemble les travaux de ses chercheurs – ouvrages collectifs, éditions de textes, monographies – dans les domaines de l’Antiquité tardive, de la littérature française du Moyen Âge à nos jours, de la littérature générale et comparée. Elle accueille aussi des études sur la poétique et l’esthétique des textes littéraires et sur leur relation avec le fait spirituel, quel qu’en soit le contenu religieux ou idéologique.

The aim of the series Worlds of Islam of the Swiss Asia Society is to publish high-quality, representative work issuing from academic research on all aspects of Islam. It comprises, and receives, studies on present-day and historical Islamic cultures and societies covering the fields of art, literature and thought as well as translations and interpretations of important sources. Furthermore the series intends to present studies that offer expert knowledge on relevant themes and current questions appealing not only to the academic public, but also to an audience generally interested in the Islamic World. One important goal of the series is to establish a forum for academic work in the fields of the humanities and social sciences in Switzerland. However, the series is also committed to the rich variety of studies and writing on the Islamic World in the international research community. The main publication languages for monographs, collections (by individual or several contributors), and surveys are therefore German, French, and English. The series is supervised and internally reviewed by an editorial board comprising leading representatives in Islamic studies. L’objectif de la collection Mondes de l’Islam, publiée sous l’égide de la Société Suisse – Asie, est de faire connaître des études représentatives et de haute qualité sur les pays d’Islam. Elle propose aussi bien des études portant sur les cultures et sociétés du présent et du passé - que ce soit dans les domaines de l’art, de la littérature ou de la pensée - que des traductions et des travaux d’interprétation de sources importantes. Elle entend également publier des recherches sur des thèmes centraux et d’actualité qui s’adressent à un public plus large, intéressé par le monde de l’Islam. Ouverte à des travaux issus de la communauté scientifique internationale, la collection se veut être en premier lieu un point de rencontre de la recherche suisse dans le domaine des études islamiques. Elle accueille des monographies, des ouvrages collectifs, des recueils thématiques, etc., rédigés en allemand, français ou anglais. Méditerranée: Littératures - Cultures / Mittelmeer: Literaturen - Kulturen

Das Mittelmeer ist in den letzten Jahren nicht nur ins Zentrum politischer Interessen gerückt, sondern auch in den Literatur- und Kulturwissenschaften neu entdeckt worden. Seit mehr als 2000 Jahren treten in diesem in exemplarischer Weise transkulturellen Raum Kulturen miteinander in Kontakt, sei es in Form friedlicher Begegnungen, sei es in Form blutiger Konflikte. Das Mittelmeer hat nicht nur die Mentalitäten der Menschen geprägt, die an seinen Ufern leben, sondern Mythologien und Bilderwelten geschaffen, die tief in die literarischen Texte und Filme eingeschrieben sind. Aufbruch und Neuanfang, Reise, die Begegnung mit dem Anderen, die Beziehungen von Mensch, Natur und Geographie sind nur einige der Themen und Motive, die vom Mittelmeer ihren Ausgangspunkt nehmen, um in die Weltliteratur auszustrahlen. Die Reihe nimmt Arbeiten auf, die diesen Themen, Bildern und Mythologien in Literatur und Film nachgehen, die nach der diskursiven Errichtung und Begründung, aber auch nach der Überschreitung und Überwindung kultureller Grenzen im Mittelmeerraum fragen, die die Beziehungen und Bezugnahmen zwischen den einzelnen Kulturen und ihren Artefakten untersuchen. Sie situiert sich im Rahmen einer transnationalen, postkolonial und transkulturell begründeten Literatur- und Kulturwissenschaft, in der auch die wissenschaftliche Analyse von Film und anderen medialen Formen ihren Platz hat. The focus of this series is on studies using the tenets of phenomenology and its various (dogmatic and skeptical) evolutions to elucidate and interpret primarily literary works of art in the contexts of aesthetics, ontology, epistemology, axiology, hermeneutics, communication, reader response, reception, cultural and social theory. Studies of a comparative nature which straddle and/or combine the disciplines of philosophical and literary studies are distinctive features of this monograph series. Aims and Scope As the annual peer-reviewed publication of the International Comparative Literature Association (ICLA), Recherche littéraire / Literary Research is an Open Access journal published by Peter Lang. Its mission is to inform comparative literature scholars worldwide of recent contributions to the field. To that end, it publishes scholarly essays, review essays discussing recent research developments in particular sub-fields of the discipline, as well as reviews of books on comparative topics. Scholarly essays are submitted to a double-blind peer review. Submissions by early-career comparative literature scholars are strongly encouraged. Modern American Literature

The books in the Modern American Literature: New Approaches series deal with many of the major writers known as American realists, modernists, and post-modernists from 1880 to the present. This category of writers will also include less known ethnic and minority writers, a majority of whom are African American, some are Native American, Mexican American, Japanese American, Chinese American, and others. The series might also include studies on well-known contemporary writers, such as James Dickey, Allen Ginsberg, Gary Snyder, John Barth, John Updike, and Joyce Carol Oates. In general, the series will reflect new critical approaches such as deconstructionism, new historicism, psychoanalytical criticism, gender criticism/feminism, and cultural criticism.
