Galician Studies serves as a forum for specialists in Galicia, one of the autonomous regions and one of four historical nationalities of Spain. Titles in this series may cover social, political, historical, literary, music, art, and linguistic themes. Approaches may be interdisciplinary and may address cultural productivity in Galician, Spanish and Portuguese languages, or others that are directly relevant to the understanding of the past, present, and future of Galicia. Many Voices

The literature of the Americas has a variety of cultural elements present under the general term "American." The canonical English mainstream of North America and the corresponding Spanish/Portuguese mainstream of South America have nevertheless reflected the arrival, assimilation, and marginality of numerous groups. Their experiences are both unique and representative of universal conditions of cultural contact and conflict. In both the United States and Canada, there are works which represent diverse aspects of the Black, Irish, Italian, Hispanic or Latino, Franco, German, Jewish, Portuguese, Greek, Slavic, and Asian communities, among others, as writers give both creative and testimonial form to the realities, both past and present of groups arriving subsequent to the original colonial period. In Latin America, some of these same groups are represented in the fiction written in Spanish and Portuguese. While this series focuses on specific ethnic groups and/or individual representatives, the fictional and poetic texts therein may address a range of issues, among them race relations, language and bilingualism, nationalism, colonialism, gender, class, cultural conflict, identity and maintenance, the context of multiculturalism. Critical approaches may include ethnocriticism, historical analyses, others, as well as structural critiques of these sorts of texts which by the very nature of their multiple focus become the aesthetic model for their content: a sort of border, mixed-blood, metis linguistic mode that in turn requires a double vision of its readers and critics. "This series deals with the relationship between literary creation and the social, political, and historical contexts in which it is produced. The types of volumes may include critical analyses of one or more works by one or several authors; critical editions of important works that may have been out of print for a long time, but which represent a major contribution to literature of the Iberian Peninsula or Latin America, English translations of important works, with critical introduction. Topics for Latin America include: studies of representative works of nineteenth- and twentieth-century thought, poetic portrayals of history, subgenres (fictionalization of the rural and urban social structures); historical novels; literature of exile; re-readings of colonial texts; new approaches to the figure of the Indian and other representatives of transculturation; women writers and other less studied authors. Topics for Spain and Portugal include: writing and nationalism in the Spanish State; bilingualism and the literary texts; censorship and exile; new and renewed genres such as autobiography and testimony; the formation of the avant-garde. Formal studies are expected to bear out the general contextual focus of the series. The use of recent developments in literary criticism is especially appropriate. The series also seeks to contribute to the understanding and accuracy of interpretation of the writing which has combined European elements with indigenous and African ones as well as to the understanding of the dynamics behind such major cultural issues as the formation of literary trends or subgenres, national identities, the effects of postcolonial status on literary imagination, the appearance and experience of women writers, and the relationships between post-modernism and Ibero-American writing. The series title is inclusive of literatures which are geographically, historically, or politically related and whose comparison is relevant to Spanish and Spanish American writing. This means those written in the other three languages of Spain, in Portugal, and Brazil. Studies in international relations, particularly historical, stem from the changing face of diplomacy over time, where the deeper forces at play, such as those once defined by Pierre Renouvin, are taken into account. Individual states, and those who define and implement their policies, are placed at the heart of global life. According to this concept, countries pursue a course of action by taking advantage of the most diverse range of tools they can rely on, such as economic or cultural resources, which act alone or interact with others. The study of international relations grew into different fields of analysis during the 20th century, but it is now subject to a new scrutiny in this era of globalisation. This concept, which coincides with the development of neo-liberal analysis since the 1980s, reveals a new awareness about the increased number of actors NGOs and multinational companies, for example but also the large autonomy they enjoy when it comes to action. This series aims to portray these new perspectives and their impact on current research. Without casting aside studies in international relations that focus on states, it tries to better understand the diverse range of factors that play out on the world stage and how they relate to each other from the high stakes in sport to the use of colonial memory. This series targets academics and analysts who wish to apply 20th century history to contemporary thought. L’étude des relations internationales, tout particulièrement dans le champ historique, est issue d’une histoire diplomatique largement rénovée à travers la prise en compte des forces profondes telles que les a jadis définies Pierre Renouvin. Elle place les États et ceux qui sont chargés de définir et de mettre en œuvre leur politique au cœur de la vie internationale. Selon cette conception, les États conduisent leur action en jouant sur la palette des moyens les plus divers sur lesquels ils peuvent s’appuyer, tels que l’économie ou la culture, et qui agissent ou interagissent les uns par rapport aux autres. La démultiplication des champs d’analyse de la vie internationale se développe ainsi tout au long du XXe siècle, mais est l’objet d’un nouveau regard en ces temps de mondialisation. Cette dernière, contemporaine du développement des analyses néo-libérales depuis les années 1980, témoigne tout à la fois de la prise de conscience de la démultiplication des acteurs en présence – ONG, entreprises multinationales par exemple – et de la large autonomie d’action de ces multiples acteurs. La collection « enjeux internationaux » se veut représentative de ces perspectives renouvelées et de leur impact sur les recherches actuelles. Sans abandonner l’étude des relations internationales centrées sur les États, elle cherche à mieux appréhender la diversité des segments qui composent le champ international et le mode de relations entre ces derniers : de l’enjeu que constitue le sport à celui de l’usage de la mémoire coloniale. Elle s’adresse ainsi aux universitaires et analystes souhaitant interroger les grandes thématiques du siècle dernier au service d’une réflexion sur le présent.

The «International Triffin Foundation», hosted by the Institute for European Studies at the Université catholique de Louvain (Belgium), has the objective of establishing a centre dedicated to the continuation of the scientific work and the intellectual legacy of Robert Triffin (1911–1993) in the field of the international monetary system, and more generally in the areas of economics, finance and the social sciences. Regular publications in the series «International Financial Relations» will ensure promotion of individual or collective works whose main themes are the ones with which Robert Triffin was particularly associated (the European Payments Union, the creation of Special Drawing Rights, the European Monetary System), as well as addressing the new problems which the international monetary system will be confronting at the dawn of the 21st century (external effects of the European Economic and Monetary Union, new tasks for the International Monetary Fund, prevention of financial crises, etc.). La « Fondation internationale Triffin », établie près l’Institut d’études européennes de l’Université catholique de Louvain (Belgique), s’est fixé pour objectif de constituer un centre dédié à la poursuite du travail scientifique et à la valorisation de l’héritage intellectuel de Robert Triffin (1911-1993) sur le système monétaire international, et plus généralement dans les domaines de l’économie, de la finance et des sciences sociales. Les publications de la collection « Relations financières internationales » assurent la promotion de travaux individuels et collectifs dont les thèmes centraux sont ceux auxquels Robert Triffin était particulièrement attaché – l’Union européenne des paiements, la création de Droits de Tirage Spéciaux, le Système monétaire européen.
