Moving Texts/Testi mobili questions Italian memory and identity from the perspective of literary and media studies, providing a forum for discussions on major research topics, including migration and mobility studies, cultural studies, cultural memory studies, film studies, translation studies and studies on linguistic attitudes and sociolinguistic changes. Moving Texts/Testi mobili is open to research conducted within established and emerging fields of investigation. It specifically promotes multi-perspective, multi-disciplinary and inter-medial approaches. The series uses double-blind peer review and is supported by an international advisory board. Proposals in Italian, French or English are welcome both for the main series (monographs and edited volumes), and for Moving Texts/Testi Mobili – Tandem, the sub-series for conjoined essays by two different authors. Potential contributors are invited to submit a book proposal consisting of an outline, a sample chapter and a CV. Plural Terminologies / Terminologies plurielles / Terminologías plurales

Over the past three decades, terminology research has known an unprecedented diversification – both in terms of its object(s) and its methods and achievements. Long confined to the field of engineering sciences and techniques, with a strong focus on standardization issues, it is now an interdisciplinary field at the crossroads of language sciences, information and communication sciences, cognitive sciences and Artificial Intelligence. Socioterminology, ethnoterminology, ontoterminology, pragmatic terminology, diachronic terminology, cognitive terminology, corporate terminology, terminology and the dissemination of science, terminology and the societal impact of research ... – only to name a few of the many names and/or approaches used to illustrate how terms and terminologies are now being explored as giving access to domains, internationalization, professional fields, marketing, etc ... . The new Plural Terminologies series is intended as a forum for academic exchange, open to this plurality of approaches, and welcomes monographs (including works resulting from doctoral dissertations or habilitations/professoral theses) or collective volumes (including conference proceedings, after a mandatory in-depth editorial work guaranteeing the coherence of the whole). Strongly committed to multilingualism in research and scientific publications, it does not limit itself to English, but also welcomes manuscripts in German, Spanish, French, Italian and Portuguese. La recherche en terminologie connaît depuis trois décennies une diversification sans précédent, tant dans ses objets que dans ses méthodes et réalisations. Longtemps cantonnée au domaine des sciences et techniques de l’ingénieur, avec un focus marqué sur les problématiques de normalisation, elle est aujourd'hui une interdiscipline à la croisée des sciences du langage, des sciences de l’information et de la communication, de sciences cognitives ou encore de l’Intelligence Artificielle. Socioterminologie, ethnoterminologie, ontoterminologie, terminologie pragmatique, diachronique, cognitive, d’entreprise, terminologie et diffusion de la science, terminologie et impact sociétal de la recherche, etc… autant de dénominations et/ou d’approches multiples montrant combien les termes et les terminologies sont aujourd’hui explorés comme "porte d’entrée" vers les domaines, l’internationalisation, les filières professionnelles, le marketing, etc. La collection Terminologies plurielles se veut ainsi un forum d’échanges scientifiques ouvert à cette pluralité d’approches et a vocation à accueillir des monographies (issues ou non de thèses de doctorat ou d’habilitation) ou des volumes collectifs (y compris des publications nées de colloques à la condition sine qua non d’avoir fait l’objet d’un travail éditorial approfondi garantissant une cohérence à l’ensemble). Fortement attachée au plurilinguisme de la recherche et des publications scientifiques, elle ne se limite pas à l’anglais, mais accueille au contraire aussi des manuscrits en allemand, espagnol, français, italien ou encore portuguais. En las tres últimas décadas, la investigación terminológica ha experimentado una diversificación sin precedentes, tanto en lo que se refiere a sus temas como a sus métodos y resultados. Confinada durante mucho tiempo al ámbito de las ciencias y técnicas de la ingeniería, con una marcada orientación hacia las cuestiones de normalización, se ha convertido en un campo interdisciplinar en la encrucijada de las ciencias del lenguaje, las ciencias de la información y la comunicación, las ciencias cognitivas y la Inteligencia Artificial. Socioterminología, etnoterminología, ontoterminología, terminología pragmática, terminología diacrónica, terminología cognitiva, terminología empresarial, terminología y divulgación científica, terminología e impacto social de la investigación, etc., son algunas de las muchas denominaciones y/o enfoques que muestran hasta qué punto se exploran hoy en día los términos y las terminologías como "puerta de entrada" a los dominios, la internacionalización, los ámbitos profesionales, el marketing, etc. La colección Terminologías plurales pretende ser un foro de intercambio científico abierto a esta pluralidad de enfoques y está destinada a acoger monografías (sean o no fruto de tesis doctorales o otras) o volúmenes colectivos (incluidas las publicaciones resultantes de congresos, siempre que hayan sido objeto de un trabajo editorial en profundidad que garantice la coherencia del conjunto). Fuertemente comprometida con el multilingüismo de la investigación y de las publicaciones científicas, no se limita al inglés, sino que también acoge manuscritos en alemán, español, francés, italiano y portugués.

The home market, the Euro, strong international cooperation, economic success and peace in Europe will work better and with more stability, or at least less difficulty, the more multilin-gual Europeans are. While the institutional EU has done a lot to pursue the targets (since 2007, there have been a separate fund and a Commissioner for Multilingualism), the situation in the individual countries continues to differ widely. The result is that the multilingual abili-ties of European citizens and societal multilingualism, including diglossia, vary from country to country. The series Multilingualism in Europe seeks to contribute from different perspectivesto a bet-ter definition of the phenomenon of multilingualism, providing theoretical and practical sup-port on how multilingualism can be explored and promoted and how it can work effectively. Interdisciplinary approaches are welcome in the following areas: • Linguistics • Neurolinguistics • Psychology • Didactics of multilingualism • Politics • History • Sociology • Political Sciences • Comparative Literature and Cultural Studies Le marché européen, l'Euro, l’importante coopération internationale, la réussite économique et la paix en Europe sont d’autant plus stables et fonctionnent d’autant mieux si la plupart des citoyens européens sont plurilingues. L’UE a fait suivre ses objectifs de mesures concrètes (depuis 2007, il y a un commissaire à l'éducation, à la culture, au multilinguisme et à la jeunesse), cependant la situation dans les différents pays européens reste très hétérogène : les compétences plurilinguistiques des citoyens européens et le multilinguisme sociétal, y compris la diglossie varient d'un pays à l'autre. La collection « Multilinguisme en Europe » a comme objectif d’apporter une contribution en analysant ces questions sous des angles divers, en cernant le phénomène du multilinguisme et en fournissant des apports théoriques et pratiques qui permettent de promouvoir le multilinguisme et le savoir comment celui progresse de manière efficace. Während die EU institutionell den Zielvorgaben konkrete Taten hat folgen lassen (seit 2007 gibt es ein eigenes Portfolio und damit einen eigenen Kommissar für Mehrsprachigkeit), sieht die Lage in den einzelnen Ländern weiterhin sehr unterschiedlich aus. Die Folge: Die Mehrsprachenkompetenz der europäischen BürgerInnen und die gesellschaftliche Mehrsprachigkeit inklusive der Diglossie variieren von Land zu Land. Der thematische Schwerpunkt der Reihe liegt auf Untersuchungen zu Sprachkontakt, Sprachkonflikten, Sprachbewusstsein und den Varietäten verschiedener romanischer Sprachen. Frankophonie, Mehrsprachigkeit und Migration sowie soziale Identifikation durch Sprache stehen ebenfalls im Fokus der Reihenbände. New Directions in German-American Studies

It is the purpose of this series to subject the large topic of German-America to new critical scrutiny. It does so as an international collaborative effort among scholars in disciplines ranging from modern languages to political history, from American Studies to anthropology, who present independently conceived publications as part of the larger project. Reimagined as part of multilingual America, the new examinations of the German-American tradition in this series offer not only new approaches to German-American studies, but they also force new thinking about what constitutes “German literature” and what have been the defining, though too little recognized, multilingual features of “American literature." Language, Migration and Identity

This series fills a hitherto neglected but now growing area in the treatment of migration: the role of language and identity. This topic is central in a globalized world where the definition of community is constantly challenged by the increased mobility of individuals. Linked to this mobility is the issue of identity construction, in which language plays a key role. Language practices are indicators of the socialization process in bilingual and multilingual settings, and part of the strategies by which speakers assert membership within social groups. Migrant speakers are constantly engaged in identity construction in varying settings. Language, Migration and Identity invites proposals for revised dissertations, monographs and edited volumes on language practices and language use by migrant speakers. A wide range of themes is envisaged, within the area of migration, but from a broadly linguistic perspective. The series welcomes studies of migrant communities and their language practices, studies of language practices in multilingual educational settings, and case studies of identity building among migrants through language use. Proposals might focus on topics such as second language acquisition in social contexts, variation in L2 speech, multilingualism, acquisition of sociolinguistic competence, hybridity and ‘crossing’ in relation to identity. A multiplicity of approaches in the treatment of this interdisciplinary area will be welcome, from quantitative to ethnographic to mixed methods. The series welcomes established scholars as well as early career academics and recent PhD research.

German Linguistic and Cultural Studies

At a time when German Studies faces a serious challenge to its identity and position in the European and international context, this new series aims to reflect the increasing importance of both culture (in the widest sense) and linguistics to the study of German in Britain and Ireland. GLCS will publish monographs and collections of essays of a high scholarly standard which deal with German in its socio-cultural context, in multilingual and multicultural settings, in its European and international context and with its use in the media. The series will also explore the impact on German society of particular ideas, movements and economic trends and will discuss curriculum provision and development in universities in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland. Contributions in English or German will be welcome. This series emphasizes the intersectoral and regional/national nature of textbooks and educational media. In doing so, it reaches beyond the objective of theory development in the various fields related to textbooks and educational media. It establishes synergies between disciplinary, linguistic, and industry communities at various scales ranging from the local to the global. As a multilingual endeavor, the series connects regional discourses within a common framework without working towards a hegemonic global discourse (in English). The series stresses the multifaceted nature of (digital) textbook and educational media research, design, production, and usage across the globe.

Language and Forensics

Language and Forensics is a trans- and inter-disciplinary book series dedicated to exploring the complex relationship between language and forensic practice. Bridging theoretical foundations and applied research, the series includes contributions that range from introductory manuals and historical overviews of the field to in-depth analyses of real-world forensic cases and cross-national comparisons of linguistic methodologies. Reflecting the diverse nature of forensic linguistics, the series features three main types of volumes: theoretical works introducing specific subfields (such as audio analysis or textual comparison), applied research addressing linguistic challenges in forensic contexts (e.g., authorship attribution, voice comparison), and edited collections emerging from collaborative research or academic conferences. In line with its inclusive and international scope, Language and Forensics welcomes publications in English as well as other Romance languages. This multilingual approach aims to support a broader scholarly community and provide a prestigious publishing platform for researchers who often face limited options beyond specialized scientific journals.

Pilgrimage Studies

From the Islamic Hajj to journeys to an ancestral homeland, pilgrimages are growing global phenomena with far-reaching national, political, societal, economical, religious, and cultural impact. Globalization, which has led to increased possibilities of travel and interconnectivity, underpins the growth of pilgrimages, as does the contemporary notion that pilgrimages are framed as journeys of meaning constructed by pilgrims. Despite universal exemplars of pilgrimage, there is a dearth of multidisciplinary, and multilingual, literature on the topic. This series aims to fuse multiple streams of pilgrimage discourse and provide a forum for formerly disparate conversations on the pilgrimage phenomenon. Proposals are welcome for monographs and edited collections that explore the intersection of pilgrimage with topics such as identity, heritage, ethnicity and genealogy, political power, nationalism, gender and sexuality, architecture, law, technology, climate and geography, and health and wellbeing. Additionally, manuscripts that represent new perspectives on existing pilgrimage sites and historical narratives are welcome and contributions from non-Anglo authors will be considered. Studies in Language, Culture and Society

Until the publication of volume 16, the series was coedited by prof. Piotr Ruszkiewicz. The series will publish books addressing the nexus between language, culture and society. Contrastive studies are welcome in particular, whether of a synchronic or diachronic orientation. Various perspectives on language/communication are of interest: grammatical, pragmatic, sociolinguistic, discoursal and semiotic. A wide range of theoretical and methodological positions is accepted: cognitive /anthropological / corpus linguistics, as well as pragmatics, interactional sociolinguistics, (specialized) genre analysis, or critical discourse studies. The cutting edge of the series is to publish innovative research elucidating the processes of inter- and intra-language variation and change, and – at the same time – relating them to flows in and across cognate categories of culture, community and society. The series will publish monographs and edited volumes reporting on data-driven research that carries a potential for application in translation studies, language teaching, multilingual (multicultural) education, and interdisciplinary critical discourse studies. The languages of publication will be English and German, yet book proposals in other major languages will also be considered, if centrally contributive to the main aim of the series.

Ralahine Utopian Studies

Ralahine Utopian Studies is the publishing project of the Ralahine Centre for Utopian Studies at the University of Limerick in association with the University of Bologna, the University of Cyprus, the University of Florida and the University of Maine. The series publishes high-quality scholarship that addresses the theory and practice of utopianism (including Anglophone, continental European and indigenous and postcolonial traditions, and contemporary and historical periods). Publications (in English and other European languages) include original monographs and essay collections (including theoretical, textual and ethnographic/institutional research), English-language translations of utopian scholarship in other national languages, reissues of classic scholarly works that are out of print and annotated editions of original utopian literary and other texts (including translations). While the series editors seek work that engages with the current scholarship and debates in the field of utopian studies, they will not privilege any particular critical or theoretical orientation. They welcome submissions by established or emerging scholars working within or outside the academy. Given the multilingual and interdisciplinary remit of the series, the editors especially welcome comparative studies in any disciplinary or transdisciplinary framework.

Destini incrociati / Destins croisés

The series «　Destini incrociati / Criss-crossed fates　» was born out of the encounter of italianist teachers and researchers working in the various francophone universities in Belgium. Multilingual, it offers both studies of a general nature and more specific contributions within the areas of Italian language, culture and literature. With no predetermined methodology, and open to the plurality of voices and skills, the series «　Destini incrociati / Criss-crossed fates　» sets out to combine academic rigour with the pleasure of reading, in publishing alternatively works with multiple authors, monographs, critical and linguistic essays, and academic books. The series has thus been conceived of as a cultural library, an ideal point of convergence for a variety of themes, projects, perspectives and new approaches. All volumes in this series passed a selection process that included double blind peer-review. Nata dallincontro di docenti e ricercatori di italianistica attivi nelle università francofone del Belgio, la collana «　Destini incrociati / Destins croisés　» raccoglie, in più lingue, studi d’insieme e interventi specifici su argomenti che pertengono alla lingua, alla cultura e alla letteratura italiana. Senza preclusioni metodologiche, aperta a voci e competenze diverse, «　Destini incrociati / Destins croisés　» si propone di coniugare rigore scientifico e piacere della lettura, alternando la pubblicazione di volumi miscellanei a monografie, di saggi critici e linguistici a edizioni di testi. La collana si presenta dunque come una biblioteca di cultura, in cui varietà di temi e progetti, novità di prospettive e approcci trovino un punto ideale di convergenza. Ogni volume della collana è stato sottoposto a una doppia revisione paritaria anonima.

In today’'s globalised society, translation and interpreting are gaining visibility and relevance as a means to foster communication and dialogue in increasingly multicultural and multilingual environments. Practised since time immemorial, both activities have become more complex and multifaceted in recent decades, intersecting with many other disciplines. New Trends in Translation Studies is an international series with the main objectives of promoting the scholarly study of translation and interpreting and of functioning as a forum for the translation and interpreting research community. This series publishes research on subjects related to multimedia translation and interpreting, in their various social roles. It is primarily intended to engage with contemporary issues surrounding the new multidimensional environments in which translation is flourishing, such as audiovisual media, the internet and emerging new media and technologies. It sets out to reflect new trends in research and in the profession, to encourage flexible methodologies and to promote interdisciplinary research ranging from the theoretical to the practical and from the applied to the pedagogical. New Trends in Translation Studies publishes translation- and interpreting-oriented books that present high-quality scholarship in an accessible, reader-friendly manner. The series embraces a wide range of publications – monographs, edited volumes, conference proceedings and translations of works in translation studies which do not exist in English. The editor, Professor Jorge Díaz-Cintas, welcomes proposals from all those interested in being involved with the series. The working language of the series is English, although in exceptional circumstances works in other languages can be considered for publication. Proposals dealing with specialised translation, translation tools and technology, audiovisual translation and the field of accessibility to the media are particularly welcomed. This series is based at the Centre for Translation Studies (CenTraS), University College London.

Regional Integration and Social Cohesion

«Regional Integration and Social Cohesion» (RISC) is an interdisciplinary and multilingual (English, French, German, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese) series that examines the human and environmental impacts of regional integration, defined legally/politically (supranationalism), economically (globalization), socially (identity), and geographically (borders). The series aims to link global analysis of issues associated with social cohesion, such as market shifts, immigration, environmental risk and the deterioration of natural resources, human rights, violence and security, etc., with national and subnational studies that focus on political decision-making, the non-governmental sector and social participation in public debates, economic transformations, social marginalization, identity, etc. Thus, the series aims to combine the international, national and subnational arenas of politics in thematically-oriented research. While proposed case studies are welcome, the works presented in this series from all social science disciplines, are predominantly based on the comparative method. Studies that compare across geographic regions, defined continentally, are of particular interest. In addition to the scientific focus described above, this series aims to connect theoretical analysis of questions related to social cohesion with policy-based research. In doing so, it examines the role of political actors at different levels of regional integration processes and it studies citizen responses to changing opportunity structures in the economic, social and political spheres. Thus, the series attempts to shed light on contemporary shifts in the uses and types of power in policy-making processes. The issue of changes in how policies are being made is linked to: «who affects policy-making?» and «what impact do policies have in social and economic arenas?» « Intégration régionale et cohésion sociale » (RISC) est une collection interdisciplinaire et multilingue qui étudie les impacts humains et environnementaux qu’exerce l’intégration régionale, telle que définie légalement/politiquement (supranationalisme), économiquement (mondialisation), socialement (identité) et géographiquement (frontières). La collection cherche à mettre en relation d’une part l’analyse globale de problématiques associées à la cohésion sociale – les mouvements des marchés économiques, l’immigration, les enjeux écologiques, la préservation des ressources naturelles, les droits de l’homme, la violence et la sécurité, etc. – et d’autre part les études nationales et régionales/locales qui se centrent sur la prise de décision politique, le secteur non gouvernemental, la participation dans les débats publics, les transformations économiques, la marginalisation sociale, l’identité, etc. La collection cherche dès lors à combiner international, national et régional/local dans une perspective thématique. Si les études de cas y sont les bienvenues, on tentera cependant de privilégier les analyses comparatistes, dans le champ des sciences humaines, toutes disciplines confondues. Une attention toute particulière sera accordée aux études établissant des comparaisons entre continents. En outre, la collection souhaite relier l’analyse théorique de questions liées à la cohésion sociale à une recherche de type politique. Elle examine ainsi le rôle des acteurs politiques aux différents niveaux de l’intégration régionale et elle étudie la réaction des citoyens face aux mutations des structures économiques, sociales et politiques. RISC met dès lors en lumière les tendances contemporaines des usages et des types de pouvoir à l’œuvre dans les processus de prise de décision. La question de savoir comment les politiques sont élaborées est liée aux questions suivantes : « Qui peut influencer les politiques ? » et « quel est l’impact des politiques sur la scène politique et économique ? ».

The «Cuadernos de Yuste» series collects the multilingual and cross-disciplinary contributions from the summer doctoral seminars organized by the European Academy of Yuste Foundation on European issues related to those linked to the work carried out by winners of the «Charles V European Award», given every two years. The seminars are coordinated by members of the Economic Governance and European Identity network, which gather German, Belgian, Spanish, French and Italian scholars who are joined by experts on the matters of discussion. The seminars welcome doctoral students, who may thus compare their current research, benefit from quality supervision and contact researchers from previous seminars that constitute the «Alumni from Yuste European Network». The series is open to other collective or monographic works - in German, English, Spanish and French -, that deal with issues studied in previous publications, such as Socio Economic Governance and European Identity; Relations between Europe and Russia in the 19th and 20th Centuries; Portugal and Spain in 20th Century Europe, Translation and Interpretation, or with topics that will be studied in forthcoming seminars. « Cuadernos de Yuste » accueille les actes multilingues et pluridisciplinaires des séminaires doctoraux d’été organisés par la Fundación Academia Europea de Yuste sur des thèmes européens liés à ceux qui marquent l’action des lauréats du prestigieux « Prix européen Charles Quint » qu’elle décerne tous les deux ans. In der mehrsprachigen «Cuadernos de Yuste» werden die Ergebnisse der von der Stiftung Europäische Akademie Yuste veranstalteten Sommer-Doktorandenseminare veröffentlicht. Diese interdisziplinären Studien stehen im Zusammenhang mit Leben und Werk der Preisträger des «Karl V. Europa-Preises», welcher in zwei-Jahres-Abständen verliehen wird. Die Seminare werden koordiniert von Mitgliedern des Forschungsnetzwerkes «Socio Economic Governance and European Identities», in dem Forscher aus Belgien, Deutschland, Frankreich, Italien und Spanien vereinigt sind. Zusätzlich werden zu den Seminaren gezielt einschlägig arbeitende Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftler eingeladen. So können im Rahmen der Sommerseminare Doktorandinnen und Doktoranden aus ganz Europa ihre Forschungserkenntnisse präsentieren und mit etablierten Forschern sowie mit Teilnehmern vorangegangener Seminare diskutieren. Zusammen bilden sie die Gruppe der «Alumni des Yuste-Europanetzwerkes». Die Buchreihe versteht sich auch als Veröffentlichungsort für solche Publikationsvorhaben, sei es als Monographien oder als Sammelbände, die sich mit Themen befassen, welche in vorangegangenen Veröffentlichungen behandelt worden sind: Gesellschafts- und Wirtschaftspolitik und Europäische Identität, Beziehungen zwischen Russland und Europa im 19. und 20. New Approaches to Applied Linguistics

This series provides an outlet for academic monographs and edited volumes that offer a contemporary and original contribution to applied linguistics. Applied linguistics is understood in a broad sense, to encompass language pedagogy and second-language learning, discourse analysis, bi- and multilingualism, language policy and planning, language use in the internet age, lexicography, professional and organisational communication, literacies, forensic linguistics, pragmatics, and other fields associated with solving real-life language and communication problems. Interdisciplinary contributions, and research that challenges disciplinary assumptions, are particularly welcomed. The series does not impose limitations in terms of methodology or genre and does not support a particular linguistic school. Whilst the series volumes are of a high scholarly standard, they are intended to be accessible to researchers in other fields and to the interested general reader. New Approaches to Applied Linguistics is based at the Centre for Language Assessment Research, University of Roehampton.

Sprachkönnen und Sprachbewusstheit in Europa / Language Competence and Language Awareness in Europe

The series Language Competence and Language Awareness in Europe unites interdisciplinary linguistic research with a thematic focus on multilingualism, linguistic choices and linguistic variability, language contact processes in Europe – and beyond its boundaries – as well as situated speech practices and literacy skills in private and public spaces. The series editor Amei Koll-Stobbe welcomes manuscript proposals, especially data orientated analyses of language competence cum performance with a priority on basic research (without any restrictions regarding theoretical and methodological frameworks). Prior to publication, the quality of the works published in this series is reviewed by external referees appointed by the editor. In der Buchreihe Sprachkönnen und Sprachbewusstsein in Europa erscheinen vorwiegend Sammelbände aus Linguistik und Anglistik. Der thematische Fokus liegt auf der Sprachkontaktlinguistik, auf Aspekten von Sprachwahl und Sprachvariabilität in nationalen Sprachgrenzen – oder über diese hinweg – sowie auf situierten Sprachpraktiken (und literacy skills) in privaten und öffentlichen Räumen. Die Herausgeberin Amei Koll-Stobbe freut sich über Publikationsvorschläge v.a. aus dem Bereich der datenorientierten Analyse von sprachlicher Kompetenz cum Performanz mit einer grundlagenforschungsorientierten Ausrichtung (Beschränkungen auf bestimmte Untersuchungsmethoden oder Rahmentheorien gibt es nicht). Die Qualität der in dieser Reihe erscheinenden Arbeiten wird vor der Publikation durch externe, von der Herausgeberin benannte Gutachter geprüft.

Interdisziplinäre Studien zur Musik – Interdisciplinary Studies of Music is a publication series that emphasizes the transdisciplinary and international nature of musicological research. The series editors, Tomi Mäkelä (Professor of Musicology at Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg) and Tobias Robert Klein (Privatdozent at Humboldt Universität zu Berlin) are equally interested in manuscripts with a historical, systematic or transcultural orientation. Hitherto published volumes (both monographs and edited collections) cover a wide range of topics from musical multilingualism to current debates in performance theory. Languages of Publication are English and German. Die Reihe Interdisziplinäre Studien zur Musik. Interdisciplinary Studies of Music umfasst Arbeiten in deutscher und englischer Sprache, deren über Fächergrenzen hinausweisende Perspektiven den interdisziplinären und internationalen Charakter der Musikwissenschaft betonen. Historical Sociolinguistics

The interdisciplinary field of Historical Sociolinguistics seeks to reveal the impact of language development on society and the role of individuals and society in the changing forms and usage of language. This book series is aimed at sociolinguists and social historians who are keen to publish studies on the social history of languages, the interaction of linguistic practices and society, and the sociological significance of linguistic variation with a historical dimension. The purpose of the series is to provide empirically supported studies that will challenge and advance current language historiographies, which often continue to present the history of particular languages as necessarily leading to the creation of a standard or prestige variety. Of particular interest are topics such as the following: language myths and language ideology, historical multilingualism and the formation of nation-states, the sociolinguistics of minority and regional languages, the rise of urban vernaculars, immigrants and their languages, the role of prescriptive grammarians, and the social history of pidgins and creoles. Book proposals from historians and linguists working on any language in any period are welcome, in particular those that include a comparative dimension as well as those with a strong empirical foundation. The language of publication is primarily English, though other languages may be considered. The editors guarantee that all publications in this series have been submitted to external and anonymous peer review. The four series editors and twenty-six members of the advisory board are all members of the Historical Sociolinguistics Network (HiSoN). The series Posener Beiträge zur Angewandten Linguistik was established in 2011 by Prof. Waldemar Pfeiffer and, until 2018, has been co-edited by Prof. Waldemar Pfeiffer and Prof. Camilla Badstübner-Kizik. From 2019 on, Prof. Maciej Karpiński is co-editing the series under the new title Poznan Studies in Applied Linguistics / Posener Beiträge zur Angewandten Linguistik. The series has been established in order to disseminate research by publishing monographs and edited collections of texts from the broad field of Applied Linguistics. The thematic range of books includes foreign language teaching, multilingualism, translation studies, linguistic aspects of culture, intercultural communication and mediation, multimodal communication, applications of spoken and written language resources and technology, application-oriented studies in psycholinguistics, sociolinguistics and pragmalinguistics. The series is intended to reflect and promote new trends in the applications of linguistic knowledge. We encourage contributions from young researchers and interdisciplinary studies, texts presenting new empirical research as well as new theoretical approaches. Die Reihe Posener Beiträge zur Angewandten Linguistik wurde 2011 von Prof. Waldemar Pfeiffer begründet und bis 2018 von ihm in Zusammenarbeit mit Prof. Camilla Badstübner-Kizik herausgegeben. Seit 2019 ist Prof. Maciej Karpiński als Mitherausgeber tätig, der Titel wurde erweitert in Poznań Studies in Applied Linguistics / Posener Beiträge zur Angewandten Linguistik. Die Reihe setzt sich das Ziel, Monographien, thematische Sammel- und Konferenzbände aus dem weit verstandenen Gebiet der Angewandten Linguistik einer internationalen wissenschaftlichen Diskussion zugänglich zu machen. Die thematische Spannweite umfasst innovative Arbeiten aus den Bereichen Fremdsprachendidaktik, Mehrsprachigkeitsforschung und Translationswissenschaften sowie Forschungen zu linguistischen Aspekten von Literatur-, Medien- und Kulturwissenschaften, Interkulturalität und Mediation, multimodaler Kommunikation, schriftlicher wie mündlicher Sprachlichkeit und Sprachtechnologie. Eingeschlossen sind anwendungsorientierte Forschungen in den Bereichen der Psycho-, Sozio- und Pragmalinguistik. Bevorzugt publiziert werden sowohl empirisch gestützte wie auch theorieorientierte Arbeiten jüngerer Autorinnen und Autoren, die inter- und transdisziplinäre Ansätze verfolgen und innovative Forschungsimpulse setzen.
