Die Publikationsreihe Postcolonial Perspectives on Eastern Europe publiziert Studien aus der Slavistik, Baltistik und Balkanistik. Die Forschungsschwerpunkte der Herausgeber der Reihe liegen unter anderem auf der polnischen, russischen, serbischen und kroatischen Gegenwartsliteratur und Kultur, interkulturellen Beziehungen und politischer Philosophie. Die Bände erscheinen in deutscher und englischer Sprache.

Studies on Themes and Motifs in Literature

The series is designed to advance the publication of research pertaining to themes and motifs in literature. The studies cover cross-cultural patterns as well as the entire range of national literatures. They trace the development and use of themes and motifs over extended periods, elucidate the significance of specific themes or motifs for the formation of period styles, and analyze the unique structural function of themes and motifs. By examining themes or motifs in the work of an author or period, the studies point to the impulses authors received from literary tradition, the choices made, and the creative transformation of the cultural heritage. The series will include publications of colloquia and theoretical studies that contribute to a greater understanding of literature.

Canadiana

The collection will offer a platform for the presentation of research-works in Canadian Studies, a discipline of increasing interest. New developments in the Studies of Literature, Culture and Media shall be documented in the new collection. The specific character of Canadianess creates a major interest for intercultural, multicultural and transcultural aspects. This fact will have an impact not only on the basic research fields, but also on epistemological dimensions. In this collection, research works to Canadian issues will be published in German, English or French, with abstracts in the other two languages. Par le caractère particulier de la canadianité, les aspects interculturels, multiculturels et transculturels y connaîtront une dimension particulière, ce qui aura des conséquences non seulement aux objets de la recherche, mais aussi aux questions épistémologiques. Dans notre collection, les recherches sur les sujets canadiens seront publiées en allemand, anglais ou français, avec des résumés dans les deux autres langues respectives. Postcolonial Studies

The Postcolonial Studies series explores the enormous variety and richness in postcolonial culture and transnational literatures. The series aims to publish work which explores various facets of the legacy of colonialism including: imperialism, nationalism, representation and resistance, neocolonialism, diaspora, displacement and migratory identities, cultural hybridity, transculturation, exile, and geographical and metaphorical borderlands. This series does not define its attentions to any single place, region, or disciplinary approach, and we are interested in books informed by a variety of theoretical perspectives. While seeking the highest standards of scholarship, the Postcolonial Studies series is thus a broad forum for the interrogation of textual, cultural and political postcolonialisms. The series welcomes both individually authored and collaboratively authored books and monographs as well as edited collections of essays.

Sammlung/Collection Variations

In der neu gegründeten Reihe Sammlung/Collection Variations werden in erster Linie Beiträge zu Kolloquien, Symposien und Studientagen aus dem Bereich der Literaturwissenschaften veröffentlicht, die in Beziehung zur Universität Zürich stehen. Die Sammlung dient dem Ziel, dem interessierten Publikum einen aktuellen Querschnitt aus einer bestimmten Disziplin oder einem Themengebiet zu ermöglichen. Sie ist somit zugleich als Ergänzung und Erweiterung der jeweils einmal jährlich erscheinenden Literaturzeitschrift Variations gedacht.
