  • Sofia Conferences on Social and Economic Development in Europe

The series covers the proceedings of the Sofia Conferences on Sustainable Economic and Social Development (SCSESD). The conferences are organized by the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (FEBA) of Sofia University in cooperation with the University of Cologne. They serve as a platform for encounters between Southeastern European scientists and colleagues from other regions, especially from Germany, Switzerland, Russia, and the USA. Thus the topics cover both, aspects of the social and economic situation in Southeast Europe as well as findings and ideas which might be useful for the further development of Europe, countries formerly under Communist rule, and the world. Contributions of Baptist Scholars

Same Baptist Scholars have recognized the need to provide a channel for the publication of academie works, doctoral dissertations, and text books, that can be located In the Baptist tradition or related to present-day Baptist thinking. In the academie publishing market there Is a need both for the author and for the reader - to identify books that belang to a certain tradition. With this series we want to attract authors and manuscripts of high academie quality. And we shall seek to have this series subscribed to by many academie institutions so that we can promise to the authors a wide distribution. One volume has alreacly appeared (Festschrift Günter Wagner) and four other volumes are in the making. • ICA International Communication Association Annual Conference Theme Book Series

As of 2013, ICA and Peter Lang Publishing started co-publishing papers from ICA’s annual conference theme sessions in the form of edited collections. Written in an engaging style, these volumes are meant to appeal to a wider audience and to reach scholars in other disciplines outside of Communication Studies. As such, the collections are not conference proceedings per se but a unique set of selected essays that capture the insights and agendas of the discipline’s top scholars.

  • Inclusion and Teacher Education

Historically, inclusive education developed as a reaction to the exclusion of students of minoritized identity groups marked by race, language, sexual orientation, disability, etc. Our position in this series is that inclusion can and should be more. It can be understood as embracing and planning for difference, building relationships across difference, teaching and learning that acknowledges and supports difference while also minimizing the use of identity categories as the foundation for arguments about inclusion. In other words, the silos of educational discourse based on identity categories need to be broken down, little by little, to reconceptualize inclusion as just, compassionate, and creative ways of living, teaching, and learning in a complex and diverse world. Inclusive teaching depends on deeply respectful relationships between teachers, students, and community members. Books in the series must make clear connections between theory and practice. Both are necessary ingredients for inclusion. This series will help teacher educators prepare teachers to be knowledgeable and skillful in teaching all students, regardless of their differences.
