This series aims to publish studies in the arts, humanities and social sciences, the main focus of which is the Hispanic World. The series invites proposals with interdisciplinary approaches to Hispanic culture in fields such as history of concepts and ideas, sociology of culture, the evolution of visual arts, the critique of literature, and uses of historiography. It is not confined to a particular historical period. Monographs as well as collected papers are welcome. Languages of publication are English, Spanish and Spanish-American.

Relaciones literarias en el ámbito Hispánico

Esta colección tiene por objetivo dar a conocer aportaciones novedosas en los ámbitos de la traducción y las relaciones interliterarias, tanto en lo que respecta a sus aspectos teóricos y metodológicos más generales como a sus plasmaciones en estudios concretos, tomando siempre como contexto de investigación el ámbito hispánico, en cualquier época histórica. Se pondrá el énfasis en las relaciones entre las literaturas ibéricas, las relaciones entre las literaturas americanas y las relaciones transatlánticas, además de la recepción de literatura extranjera en el contexto ibérico, intentando aglutinar un discurso crítico de carácter multidisciplinar que resulte una alternativa al hispanismo tradicional en su búsqueda de un marco auténticamente comparativo e intercultural. La colección acoge monografías, publicaciones colectivas, actas de congresos y adaptaciones de tesis doctorales en inglés, en castellano y otras lenguas peninsulares. ESCENA HISPÁNICA. Estudios de teatro español e hispanoamericano quiere ser un espacio de debate sobre el teatro tanto en España como en los países de la América hispana. La comprensión de teatro que fundamenta la colección es amplia y comprende todas sus dimensiones: desde el texto hasta la escenificación, pasando por las relaciones del teatro con otras artes y el papel que desempeña en la cultura hispánica. Además, la colección atenderá a otras manifestaciones escénicas y parateatrales que desbordan la noción tradicional de teatro como la danza, el circo, el cabaré, la sicalipsis, el teatro musical, etc. La colección publicará tanto monografías como volúmenes colectivos. La lengua prioritaria será el español, aunque se considerarán también propuestas para libros en otros idiomas de uso habitual en el ámbito académico.

Hispanistik im globalen Kontext offers an interdisciplinary approach to the Hispanistic world, combining Literary Studies, Media Studies, and Cultural Studies. The publications deal with the investigation and intercultural representation of contemporary culture and intellectual history by taking Iberian Studies, European Studies, Transatlantic and Global Studies into consideration. The major points of interest are the cultures of the Iberian Peninsula, their relation to each other, to Europe, to Latin America, and to cultural processes in a global context. The "Visual Arts and Hispanic Societies" series is devoted to monographic or collective works in Spanish on artistic representations of the cultures of Hispanic countries, in Spain and in the Americas as well as territories or communities on other continents. The concept of ʻvisual artsʼ includes all forms of representation related to the image, whether they refer to academic arts such as photography, painting, theatre and film, or to more recent, popular and/or heterogeneous styles such as graphic novels, television, video games, street art, installations, interventions and other forms of free or ephemeral art, whether or not linked to new technologies. This collection aims to bring together authors writing from different perspectives who are interested in the social function of current or traditional art, in the way in which visual representations seek to convey critical, pragmatic, committed and/or political points of view on the conflicts through which Hispanic societies evolved in the past or are currently being transformed. La colección "Artes visuales y sociedades hispánicas" está dedicada a trabajos monográficos o colectivos en español sobre representaciones artísticas de las culturas de los países hispánicos, tanto en España y América como en algunos territorios o comunidades de otros continentes. El concepto de ʻartes visualesʼ incluye aquí toda forma de representación relacionada con la imagen, ya se refiera a artes académicas como la fotografía, la pintura, el teatro y el cine, o a estilos más recientes, populares y/o heterogéneos como la historieta, la novela gráfica, la televisión, los videojuegos, el street art, las instalaciones y otras modalidades de arte libre o efímero, ligados o no a las nuevas tecnologías. Modern American Literature

The books in the Modern American Literature: New Approaches series deal with many of the major writers known as American realists, modernists, and post-modernists from 1880 to the present. This category of writers will also include less known ethnic and minority writers, a majority of whom are African American, some are Native American, Mexican American, Japanese American, Chinese American, and others. The series might also include studies on well-known contemporary writers, such as James Dickey, Allen Ginsberg, Gary Snyder, John Barth, John Updike, and Joyce Carol Oates. In general, the series will reflect new critical approaches such as deconstructionism, new historicism, psychoanalytical criticism, gender criticism/feminism, and cultural criticism.

The series “Münster Monographs on English Literature” comprises monographs on English Literature from its beginnings to the present day. Contributions in the field of literary theory, analyses of individual works, studies on literary tradition, on the interrelationship between literature and literary criticism, on the history of ideas and the history of science are all welcome. Monographs with a comparative and interdisciplinary approach would also fit in well with the spectrum of the series. The series lends itself to the publication in German or English. The series was founded and edited by prof. Dorota Filipczak (1963–2021) until the publication of volume 2. The aim of the series is to introduce new, incisive analyses of literature and media in different cultural contexts. The series will focus on the phenomena that are inderdisciplinary and dissolve the boundary between literature and media such as film, music video, computer games etc. The idea behind the series is to show how our traditional understanding of literature can be transformed by the cultural, social and technological contexts. The successive studies will be informed by the scholarly background of contemporary literary theory and media studies, while seeking to relate literature and media to the challenges of contemporary world.
