Internationalisation have recently featured in discussions and initiatives related to various fields of higher education. Educational leaders, institutions and national policy-makers, but also international actors, such as the European Union and UNESCO, have promoted the internationalisation of higher education. Increasing emphasis on internationalisation has diversified also teaching and learning contexts in higher education and has given rise to a growing need for searching appropriate cross-cultural pedagogical approaches. However, internationalisation in the context of higher education is a multifaceted concept and involves more than just one international dimension in institutional or pedagogical activities. These recent developmental features are examined in the book with the conceptual lense of emerging pattern of internationalisation.

10. The role of institutional entrepreneurs’ agency in enhancing international graduate employability: the case of mentoring program
Abstract: In the context of the ageing population and the resulting high-skilled labour shortages, the policy agenda in many developed countries has been increasingly focusing on the issues of attracting and retaining foreign talents. One way of competing for global talents is by attracting international students and helping them integrate in the host country’s labour market after graduation. This ‘academic gate’ approach is illustrated in this paper by the case of Finland, where a number of projects have been initiated recently to strengthen the links between attraction and retention policies. Given that the educational institutions, policy makers or employers alone cannot help international graduates overcome all the obstacles faced in transition from higher education to the labour market, an idea of developing an employer mentoring program for international students was supported by the European Social Fund and implemented in a number of Finnish universities. In this paper, we explore the role of the institutional entrepreneurs’ agency, exemplified by mentoring program coordinators’ actions, in enhancing international graduate employability. The study is based on the analysis of the empirical data including observation, interviews with the mentees (international students and graduates) and program coordinators in Tampere, Finland.
