Dazu erörtern die Beiträge Grundlagen, Perspektiven und theoretische Zugänge von Lehren und Lernen in der Mediengesellschaft und diskutieren einen neuen, mediologischen Zugang zur Theorie von Bildungsmedien, der den Begriff der Wissensvermittlung um den der Wissensverständigung erweitert. Der Band beschreibt und analysiert Projekte und den Einsatz von Bildungsmedien in der pädagogischen Praxis und stellt grundsätzliche Überlegungen an zu Qualitätskriterien und zur Bewertung von Bildungsmedien. Dabei berücksichtigen die Beiträge unterschiedliche Bildungsmedienformate.

Media Quality a Dispositive Model of Public Value

Regarding the media communication as the source of public opinion building in a media society, the question of reliability, relevance, credibility and trust is, taken all in one overall category, a question of media quality – as long as the term of media is meant to represent more than just the technical, the economic or the organizational infrastructure of acting information and communication my means of the media. The quality of media, often used as a concept of professional media work, is more than just this. It is a cultural concept of a literate and socially elaborated usage of media on both sides of the scheme of roles of socially mediated interaction and means more than just the quality of media management or the professionalism of journalism (Bauer 2014: 284), as journalism is not just the whole relevance-factor of media-related or media-based construction of public opinion. Claiming theoretically this both-side understanding of media quality provokes, in case of focusing on journalism, to understand the quality of journalism as a media-literate and professionally elaborated work with and on social communication for and in the interest of communicative values for the constitution of public sphere and the construction of a mindful and meaningful public opinion.
