Cemile Çelik & Muhammet Saygin The Effects of Authentic Leadership Features on the Crisis Preparedness Levels of Organisations: A Case of Erdemli Introduction The crisis term can simply be defined as a situation that is not possible to be maintained by organisations. The only possible way to deal with crisis leads the researchers to the preparedness term which is a fundamental step for any kind of organisation. Businesses, especially those located in small districts such as Erdemli, need to adapt more modern management methods because the growing demand and trends in light of more productive and profitable structures make these businesses vulnerable. Also, preparedness for a possible crisis and responses to undesired matters reflect the management capabilities of organisations. Authentic leadership depends on the honest relationships in organisations and crises preparedness is thought to be related with authentic leadership because the term authentic leadership stands for the positive aspects for the threads. Moreover, the ethical basis and moral perspective of authentic leaders have the possibility of preventing a possible crisis in any kind of organisation. This quantitative study focuses on the effects of authentic leadership features on the crisis preparedness levels of organisations. Data were collected through a survey form and were analysed via SPSS 20. Participants were chosen as the work- ers of the businesses located in Erdemli, which is a district of Mersin province, and related businesses were determined through an updated list taken from the Erdemli Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
