The Effects of Organisational Capabilities on Innovative Performance: A Research Study at “Konya Teknokent”
In today’s environment of increasing competition, the most crucial point for the organisations primarily wishing to survive and obtain more profit through growth is organisational capabilities. Organisational capabilities, which are the most basic elements that organisations can use to make a difference against their competitors, naturally must make an organisation different from others and give it advantages in the competitive environment. This case requires the organisations to diversify and develop their capabilities.
Another issue that can make the organisations more advantageous is the organisation’s innovation performance. Innovation, which is defined as developing new products or making changes in the existing products, will move the organisations one step forward in making them different from others. While innovative performance is the capacity of innovation of an organisation, it is also an indicator showing how effective it is in making innovation. In today’s dynamic environment and competitive conditions, the organisations with high innovative performances can be the pioneers in changing, innovating, and surviving as a leader organisation in their sectors.
Organisational capability is the capacity of an organisation in using its competence. These capabilities consist of the organisation’s total implicit knowledge used for starting or changing its processes, procedures, and systems (Moingeon et al., 1998: 298). In the literature, although organisational capabilities are examined in various sub-dimensions, eight sub-dimensions of organisational capability will be discussed in the study.
