Health and healthy life styles are something that we all would like to induce in our youth and children. Health education at school is one way of implementing health promotion. However, for all good intentions, the subject of health education makes a contradictory part of education: health education has been included in other school subjects, such as physical education, or themes of health education have been discussed from a cross-curricular point of view.

In today’s world, issues of health do not just mean healthy life style but cover a much more profound part of human beings’ lives: health education is expected to provide holistic information and increase understanding about the communal and environmental health issues along with individual choices and minding for fellow humans.

Time for Health Education covers health education, its history, and present and future challenges. It represents new ideas and hands-on solutions of health education and also analyses of health capital and health literacy among the youth and children.
