Summary

Marianne Kalinke’s long career in the study of Old Norse-Icelandic literature has, among other topics, resulted in a series of studies, editions, and translations of courtly romances and related texts in the North, both in the ‘native’ and imported forms. This book offers translations of three unequivocal translations of French chansons de geste and one of a more controversially attributable text likely belonging to the native Icelandic chivalric saga tradition.
