New Approaches to Applied Linguistics

This series provides an outlet for academic monographs and edited volumes that offer a contemporary and original contribution to applied linguistics. Applied linguistics is understood in a broad sense, to encompass language pedagogy and second-language learning, discourse analysis, bi- and multilingualism, language policy and planning, language use in the internet age, lexicography, professional and organisational communication, literacies, forensic linguistics, pragmatics, and other fields associated with solving real-life language and communication problems. Interdisciplinary contributions, and research that challenges disciplinary assumptions, are particularly welcomed. The series does not impose limitations in terms of methodology or genre and does not support a particular linguistic school. Whilst the series volumes are of a high scholarly standard, they are intended to be accessible to researchers in other fields and to the interested general reader. New Approaches to Applied Linguistics is based at the Centre for Language Assessment Research, University of Roehampton.

The series Posener Beiträge zur Angewandten Linguistik was established in 2011 by Prof. Waldemar Pfeiffer and, until 2018, has been co-edited by Prof. Waldemar Pfeiffer and Prof. Camilla Badstübner-Kizik. From 2019 on, Prof. Maciej Karpiński is co-editing the series under the new title Poznan Studies in Applied Linguistics / Posener Beiträge zur Angewandten Linguistik. The series has been established in order to disseminate research by publishing monographs and edited collections of texts from the broad field of Applied Linguistics. The thematic range of books includes foreign language teaching, multilingualism, translation studies, linguistic aspects of culture, intercultural communication and mediation, multimodal communication, applications of spoken and written language resources and technology, application-oriented studies in psycholinguistics, sociolinguistics and pragmalinguistics. The series is intended to reflect and promote new trends in the applications of linguistic knowledge. We encourage contributions from young researchers and interdisciplinary studies, texts presenting new empirical research as well as new theoretical approaches. Die Reihe Posener Beiträge zur Angewandten Linguistik wurde 2011 von Prof. Waldemar Pfeiffer begründet und bis 2018 von ihm in Zusammenarbeit mit Prof. Camilla Badstübner-Kizik herausgegeben. Seit 2019 ist Prof. Maciej Karpiński als Mitherausgeber tätig, der Titel wurde erweitert in Poznań Studies in Applied Linguistics / Posener Beiträge zur Angewandten Linguistik. Die Reihe setzt sich das Ziel, Monographien, thematische Sammel- und Konferenzbände aus dem weit verstandenen Gebiet der Angewandten Linguistik einer internationalen wissenschaftlichen Diskussion zugänglich zu machen. Die thematische Spannweite umfasst innovative Arbeiten aus den Bereichen Fremdsprachendidaktik, Mehrsprachigkeitsforschung und Translationswissenschaften sowie Forschungen zu linguistischen Aspekten von Literatur-, Medien- und Kulturwissenschaften, Interkulturalität und Mediation, multimodaler Kommunikation, schriftlicher wie mündlicher Sprachlichkeit und Sprachtechnologie. Eingeschlossen sind anwendungsorientierte Forschungen in den Bereichen der Psycho-, Sozio- und Pragmalinguistik. Professor Hans-Jörg Schwenk (1959–2020) und Professor Janusz Golec haben die Reihe „Lubliner Beiträge zur Germanistik und Angewandten Linguistik” mitbegründet und bis zur Veröffentlichung des Bandes Nr. 14 mitherausgegeben. In der Reihe werden Arbeiten zur Literatur-, Kultur- und Sprachwissenschaft, sowie zur Fremdsprachendidaktik und angewandten Linguistik veröffentlicht. Die Schriftenreihe erscheint seit dem Jahr 2013 und präsentiert aktuelle Forschungsergebnisse in diesen Bereichen. Sie umfasst Monographien und Sammelbände über einzelne Autorinnen und Autoren, Gattungen und Themen aus dem Gebiet der deutschsprachigen Literatur- und Kulturgeschichte. Der Schwerpunkt linguistischer Reflexion in der Reihe liegt auf der eingehenden Erörterung applikativer Fragen, die in den Teilgebieten der Linguistik thematisiert werden. Die Reihe bietet auch Studien über die Relationen Sprache –Text – Diskurs an. In der Reihe werden einzel- sowie mehrsprachige Monographien und Sammelbände herausgegeben (Deutsch, Englisch, aber auch andere Sprachen), die ein breitgefächertes Spektrum von Themen und Aspekten in den Blick nehmen.

The Series Angewandte Genderforschung.Gender Research Applied provides German and English monographs on gender and diversity research in organizations. The series has a transdisciplinary approach, and it focuses on gender and diversity issues in organizations. It incorporates findings from sociology, psychology, business administration and medicine, and provides input on how theoretical and empirical findings can be applied successfully to organizational change processes. Editor of the series is Professor Ingelore Welpe, an expert on human resource management and cross cultural gender and diversity management. Die Reihe Angewandte Genderforschung. Gender Research Applied enthält deutsch- und englischsprachige Monographien aus dem Fachbereich Gender- und Diversity-Forschung in Organisationen. This series invites book manuscripts and proposals in English on either theoretical or applied ethics. Books submitted on traditional moral philosophers or on one or more ethical problems from a philosophical perspective are welcome. Preference will be given to works which deal with perennial philosophical issues in ethics in an original, clear and scholarly manner rather than to manuscripts which have historical significance alone. Books which approach applied ethics from a philosophical perspective, especially those in the areas of business ethics and globalization and ethics, are also welcome. Manuscripts should display expertise in both philosophy and the areas illuminated by the philosophical insights. This series aims to promote specialist language studies, both in the fields of linguistic theory and applied linguistics, by publishing volumes that focus on specific aspects of language use in one or several languages and provide valuable insights into language and communication research. New International Studies in Applied Ethics

New International Studies in Applied Ethics is a series based at Leeds Metropolitan University and associated with Virginia Theological Seminary. The series examines the ethical implications of selected areas of public life and concern. Subjects considered will include, but are not limited to, medicine, peace studies, international sport and higher education. The series aims to publish volumes which are clearly written with a general academic readership in mind. Individual volumes may also be useful to those confronted with the issues discussed in their daily lives. A consistent emphasis is on recent developments in the subjects discussed and this is achieved by publishing volumes by writers who are foremost in their fields, as well as those with emerging reputations. Both secular and religious ethical views may be discussed as appropriate. No point of view is considered off-limits and controversy is not avoided. The series includes both edited volumes and single-authored monographs. Submissions are welcome from all scholars in the field and should be addressed to either the series editor or the publisher.

Methodology and methods constitute the heart of social sciences and the mark of any academic endeavour. In recent years, the development of participatory methods broadly understood has led to the renewal of our methodological tools and techniques through the introduction into the research design of the citizens, the experts, the decision makers both private and public. These new methods deserve to be studied not only from an epistemological and a methodological perspective but also in their real-life applications. This series, «Méthodes participatives appliquées/Applied participatory methods», aims at fostering the debates related to the fast-growing development, renewal, and application of the participatory methods. It will be of interest to a wide readership: scholars in human and social sciences, undergraduate and graduate students, private and public decision makers, civil servants, journalists, politicians as well as citizens interested in this applied participatory perspective. This series publishes, in English or in French, both individual and collective works such as monographs (including theses), collections of articles, conference proceedings, textbooks and collections of texts for students and bibliographies. La méthodologie et les méthodes constituent indéniablement le cœur des sciences sociales et la marque de leur scientificité. Depuis plusieurs années, le développement de méthodes participatives entendues au sens large encourage le renouvellement des outils méthodologiques propres aux sciences sociales en intégrant plus directement les citoyens, les « experts » et les décideurs publics ou privés dans le dispositif de recherche. Ces nouvelles méthodes méritent d’être étudiées aussi bien épistémologiquement que méthodologiquement mais également dans leurs applications concrètes. La collection, « Méthodes participatives appliquées/Applied participatory methods », vise ainsi à enrichir les réflexions et les débats qui entourent le développement, le renouvellement et l’application des méthodes participatives. Cette collection intéressera un large public allant des chercheurs en sciences humaines et sociales aux étudiants de tous les cycles en passant par les administrateurs et décideurs privés et publics ainsi que les journalistes, les politiques et les citoyens intéressés par cette perspective participative appliquée. Cette collection publie, en français ou en anglais, des travaux individuels et collectifs, tels que des monographies (tirées ou non de thèses), des recueils d’articles, des actes de colloque, des recueils de textes commentés à destination de l’enseignement ainsi que des bibliographies.

Kontrastive Linguistik / Linguistica contrastiva

Ziel der Reihe ist es, Monographien und Sammelbände zur kontrastiven Sprachwissenschaft unter einem Dach zu vereinen. Im Bereich der Monographien ist dabei sowohl an Überblicksdarstellungen und Detailstudien als auch an Qualifikationsschriften (ab Dissertation bzw. tesi di dottorato) zu denken. Die Themen können aus den Bereichen Lexikologie und Semantik, Lexikographie, Phonologie, Grammatik, Pragmalinguistik, Textlinguistik, Diskursanalyse und Übersetzungswissenschaft stammen. Sie sollen methodisch und theoretisch und/oder empirisch sprachvergleichend ausgerichtet sein. Bei den zu untersuchenden Sprachen muss entweder Deutsch oder Italienisch eine der Vergleichsbasen sein. Arbeiten zu Deutsch und Italienisch sind ebenfalls sehr willkommen. Weitere Vergleichssprachen sind andere romanische Sprachen und das Englische. Die Anzahl der beteiligten Sprachen ist dabei nicht auf zwei begrenzt. La collana ospita pubblicazioni monografiche e miscellanee dedicate alla linguistica contrastiva. Come monografie possono essere pubblicati compendi e manuali di linguistica contrastiva, studi su temi specifici, tesi di dottorato (Dissertation) e di Habilitation. Gli ambiti tematici previsti sono: lessicologia e semantica, lessicografia, fonologia, grammatica, linguistica pragmatica, testuale e conversazionale, traduttologia. Le ricerche devono essere riconducibili a approcci metodologici, teorici ed empirici di stampo contrastivo. Lingue di contrasto potranno essere il tedesco o l’italiano. Altre lingue oggetto di studio su base contrastiva possono essere le lingue romanze e l’inglese. Altrettanto graditi saranno studi su italiano e tedesco e ricerche che tengano conto di più lingue. Linguistica Philologica

The series Linguistica Philologica aims to foster dialogue across boundaries among the different fields and paradigms of linguistics in a broad philological and historical context. The edited volumes, monographs, and congress proceedings cover the linguistics of the entire spectrum of languages, focusing on describing and explaining languages as systems, the oral and written use of language, and language variation, its precipitating factors and outcomes. The double-blind peer-reviewed volumes are published in English, French, Spanish, German, and Russian. Die Publikationsreihe Linguistica Philologica will den Dialog über die Grenzen der unterschiedlichen Bereiche und Paradigmen der Sprachwissenschaft hinweg in einem breiten philologischen und historischen Kontext fördern. Die Sammelbände, Monographien und Kongressdokumentationen beziehen sich auf das gesamte Spektrum der linguistischen Philologien, mit Fokus auf die Beschreibung und Erklärung von sprachlichen Systemen, den mündlichen und schriftlichen Gebrauch der Sprachen sowie die sprachliche Variation, deren auslösende Faktoren und Ergebnisse. Die im double-blind Verfahren begutachteten Bände erscheinen in deutscher, englischer, französischer, spanischer und russischer Sprache.
