Enfoques de género en la traducción poética de la obra de Concha Méndez Cuesta
Abstract: This study aims to offer an analysis on the translation into Italian of Concha Méndez Cueto’s poetic work -a Generación of ’27 member- by combining the theoretical focus on poetic translation with genre studies in traductology. The objective is to translate and analyse the poems by using the necessary technics in order to accomplish a translation wich could reproduce the multiplicity of the elements that take part in the poetic text and the “conflict system” (cfr. Etkind 1982) from the original, without being unfaithful to the author’s style and aesthetics (cfr. Holmes 1969, 1978, Lefevere 1975, Popovic 1976, Beaugrande 1978, Raffel 1988) and taking into account the extreme strategies traced by the Canadian feminist movement in the 1980s (cfr. Diaz-Diocaretz 1985, Hannay 1985, Chamberlain 1988, 1998, Godard 1990, Lotbiniére-Harwod 1991, Von Flotow 1991, 1994, 1997, 1998, Simons 1996). Throughout the translations’ analysis I will try to find out a halfway path between both approaches. Furthermore, this study will allow to recover and value through its translation this important writer’s work. It will also help to think about the perspectives opened by the big feminist bet in traductology.
