Note from the Executive Editor

First, I would like to thank Professors Dang, Matei, and Popovic for putting together this fine collection of papers on academic freedom. In this volume, there also appear three additional articles submitted for publication in an open issue. I have made the decision to include these excellent articles in a separate section of this special issue so as to not delay their publication unnecessarily.
