Summary

The present Festschrift is dedicated to Prof. Dr. Hubert Annen upon his retirement from his position as head of military psychology and pedagogics at the Military Academy at ETH Zurich. With his holistic model of Swiss military psychology, Hubert Annen created an anchor point for scientific research and teaching in the military domain. This model, with its four pillars—selection, motivation, self-reflection, and stress/resilience—also builds the thematic framework for the Festschrift. Across 33 chapters, 67 international experts outline how military psychology contributes at the state of the art to the operational readiness of the armed forces.
