Summary
Catholic Sexual Pathology continues to document the correlation between Catholic sexual orthodoxy and Catholic sexual pathology. Like the previous volumes in this landmark work, it is interdisciplinary, examining Catholic sexual pathology through the lens of history, theology, philosophy, law, medicine, sexology, psychology, psychiatry, sociology and anthropology. The book represents a pioneer effort across a 50-year span to empirically document the mass human suffering and damage caused by Catholic sexual orthodoxy in both the Catholic mind and the Western mind. Themes covered in this volume include: the Inquisitions (1227-1965), which punished people for unorthodox human sexual behavior with penance, prison, torture and death; the Crusades (1095-1396), which murdered millions of Greeks, Arabs, Jews and Christians across Europe, Africa and the Middle East; and slavery, which the Catholic Church practiced in northern Europe until 1200, with serfdom enduring in northern Europe until 1700 and slavery in southern Europe until 1870.
