Anne Ibos-Augé is a renowned musicologist with a long teaching career, currently associated with the research group IReMus (Institut de recherche en musicologie), which functions under the supervision of the French Centre national de recherche scientifique (CNRS), the Bibliothèque nationale de France, and Sorbonne University. One of the missions of IReMus is popularization, “une vulgarisation exigeante et de qualité”; the present volume accomplishes that goal well.
