Summary

Contrary to many popular myths, people in the European (and probably many other) Middle Ages were greatly concerned with their physical well-being, healthcare, hygiene, and medical treatments and tried their best to stay well, to observe hygiene as much as possible, and to prevent sicknesses to inflict them. In the present book, Katherine Harvey offers a insightful and highly readable study on many of the major aspects concerning these topics drawing from a wide range of relevant sources from the early to the late Middle Ages and also beyond, culling her information from a plethora of relevant research literature.
