Zusammenfassung
Huw Pryce is Bangor University’s doyen of medieval Welsh history. Now he has a Festschrift on Wales’s historiography past and present, a theme giving unity to its sixteen contributions. They come in three sections: texts and their fates; history and identity; memory and nation. Two studies are in Welsh; biodata and introduction appear in English and Welsh. Yet amongst the contributors are scholars in Oxford, Cambridge, Manchester, New Hampshire, California, Turkey (as well as at Bangor, Aberystwyth, Cardiff). It is not just a volume of the Welsh, but also by the Welsh, for the Welsh.
