In the context of the accelerating globalization of higher education and the increasing demand for cross-cultural academic exchanges, there is an urgent need for high-quality international academic platforms in the field of world language teaching and research. Nanjing Normal University Taizhou College, as an institution committed to promoting academic development and internationalization, takes the initiative to launch the international academic journal World Languages Teaching and Research.

This journal is the first international journal in Taizhou and also the first of its kind in Nanjing Normal University Taizhou College. It is an innovative practice among independent colleges nationwide. Published by Peter Lang, a renowned international academic publishing group, the journal is led by a high-level editorial team composed of well-known experts and scholars from domestic and foreign universities and academic institutions. With a semi-annual publication frequency, it is scheduled to make its debut in June 2026. The launch of this journal not only fills the gap in international academic journals in the region and the university but also provides a valuable platform for teachers and students of liberal arts colleges such as the School of Foreign Languages and Cultures, School of Humanities and Media, School of Law, School of Business, School of Teacher Education, and School of Marxism to showcase their teaching achievements and publish research papers, which is of great significance for enhancing the international academic reputation and core influence of the university and injecting new vitality into the internationalization development of higher education in Taizhou.

The journal adheres to the orientation of the international academic journal evaluation system and based on an international academic perspective. It focuses on the field of world language teaching and research, with particular attention to international cutting-edge issues, regional characteristic practices, and interdisciplinary research results in this field.

The primary aim of the journal is to build a high-level academic exchange platform featuring multilingualism, multidisciplinary integration, and cross-cultural communication. It is dedicated to promoting the international dissemination of language teaching and research achievements, enhancing their academic influence, facilitating the professional growth of teachers, the improvement of academic capabilities, and the quality improvement of discipline construction.
