Restoration Drama

This series attempts to illustrate the richness and diversity of Restoration drama, a thriving theatrical production which has been long overshadowed by the brilliance of the Age of Shakespeare. The aim of the collection is to bring to light dramatic texts that have not attracted much critical attention but display the most popular generic formulas of the time and introduce a wide array of suggestive topics. The series consists of modern spelling, fully annotated editions, complete with textual commentary, glosses, as well as historical, cultural and literary references. Each of the volumes includes a critical introduction which places the text in context, discussing aspects such as authorship, the play’s response to the historical circumstances of the time, its use of theatrical conventions and stage history.

The peer-reviewed series provides a forum for first-class scholarship in the field of English and American Studies and focuses on English and American literature, drama, film, theatre and communication. The series welcomes critical perspectives on the reading and writing of texts, the production and consumption of high and low culture, the aesthetic and social implications of texts and communicative practices. It publishes monographs, collected papers, conference proceedings and critical editions. The languages of publication are both English and Spanish. Scholars are invited to submit their manuscripts to the editors or to the publisher.

Paratraducción, Interlinguas y Transmedia

Desde el cambio de paradigma que supone la noción teórica de paratraducción, creada por el Grupo de investigación Traducción & Paratraducción (T&P) de la Universidade de Vigo (España), la colección Paratraducción, Interlinguas y Transmedia (ParatradIT), dirigida por José Yuste Frías y Óscar Ferreiro Vázquez, invita a reflexionar de manera transdisciplinar sobre la transtextualidad, en general, y la paratextualidad, muy en particular, en los procesos transmediales de la comunicación internacional entre diferentes lenguas (interlinguas) y culturas. Los principales objetos de estudio de ParatradIT son los soportes materiales transmediáticos, los procesos, los modos, las técnicas, las estrategias, las instituciones, las herramientas tecnológicas, las inteligencias artificiales y los seres humanos que hacen posible las transferencias lingüísticas y culturales tanto en pantalla como en papel. ParatradIT acoge publicaciones temáticas centradas no sólo sobre el área de traducción e interpretación, sino también sobre áreas afines como, por ejemplo, la didáctica de lenguas extranjeras y pedagogía de segundas lenguas en la mediación entre culturas. ParatradIT es una colección siempre abierta a los cambios teóricos, didácticos y profesionales que pueden surgir en los diferentes sectores estratégicos de la traducción, como, por poner tan sólo un ejemplo, el sector de la industria del videojuego donde nuevas formas paratextuales ayudan a crear nuevas narrativas transmedia ludográficas en pantalla que suponen nuevos retos de transcreación en la localización de videojuegos. Since the paradigm shift represented by the theoretical notion of paratranslation, created by the Research Group Traducción & Paratraducción (T&P) (T&P), from the University of Vigo (Spain), the series Paratraducción, Interlinguas y Transmedia (ParatradIT), edited by José Yuste Frías and Óscar Ferreiro Vázquez, invites interdisciplinary reflection on paratextuality for international communication among different languages (interlinguas) and cultures. The main objects of study of the series are the materials, processes, modes, techniques, strategies, institutions, technological tools, artificial intelligences, and humans that enable linguistic and cultural transfers, both on screen and on paper. ParatradIT hosts themed publications not only in the field of translation and interpretation, but also in related fields such as foreign language teaching and second language pedagogy in cross-cultural mediation. Die Buchreihe Historia y contacto en textos indorrománicos widmet sich linguistischen Untersuchungen zu hispano- und lusoamerikanischen Sprachgemeinschaften, in denen sich im Laufe der Zeit klar idiosynkratische Merkmale herausgebildet haben. Das Ziel der Reihe besteht sowohl darin die verschiedenen aktuellen Sprachsituationen in diesen Kommunikationsräumen als auch die verschiedenen Stadien der Herausbildung und Entwicklung der amerikanischen Sprachgemeinschaften zu beschreiben und zu analysieren. The Asian American Studies series will continue to contribute to an understanding of the long neglected history, rich cultural heritage, and present position of Asian Americans in society. The series encompasses studies on all aspects of the Asian American experience, and we are committed to expanding the traditions of knowledge within the field to address vast Asian American epistemologies, communities, activities, and practices. Romantic Studies

This series is mainly focused on English literature produced in Britain and Europe between the 1750s and the 1830s. It aims to explore the key concepts regarding Romantic texts and aesthetics, such as the relationship between the writer and the natural world; context and history; sensibility and the sublime; gender roles; language and the power of the imagination; studies of genre; slavery and abolition; migration literature, consumer literature; social transformation; critical reception; and transnational relations. The series welcomes studies on major as well as less well-known authors and literary genres, and on historical and cultural contexts of the period. Within this framework, volumes included in this series will not only expand the canon beyond traditional authors and genres, but also provide opportunities for exploring texts and contexts from new perspectives, including those of gender, cultural and translation studies. The series includes monographs, collection of essays, conference proceedings, critical editions and translations, and aims to address an international community. ALPH: Arbeiten zur Literarischen Phantastik / ALPH: Approaches to Literary Phantasy

This series has been terminated after vol. 9. ALPH: in Coleridge’s poem Kubla Khan, this is a subterranean river based on the Greek Alphaios, which connects different worlds and thus creates new spaces in secret and surprising ways. The title Alph thus stands for works of fantastic literature/phantasy to which this series devotes new and exciting studies, from all ranges of anglophone writing, but also from other languages. Interdisciplinary and comparative studies are particularly welcome. Band 9 schließt diese Reihe ab. ALPH: In Coleridges Gedicht Kubla Khan ist dies ein unterirdischer Fluss, dem griechischen Alphaios entlehnt, der verschiedene Welten verbindet und dabei auf phantastische Weise neue Räume aufdeckt. Darum geht es in den Büchern dieser Reihe, in der neue Studien zur phantastischen Literatur erscheinen, insbesondere, aber nicht nur, der englischsprachigen Welt. Interdisziplinäre und komparatistische Arbeiten sind besonders willkommen.

The series Linguistica Philologica aims to foster dialogue across boundaries among the different fields and paradigms of linguistics in a broad philological and historical context. The edited volumes, monographs, and congress proceedings cover the linguistics of the entire spectrum of languages, focusing on describing and explaining languages as systems, the oral and written use of language, and language variation, its precipitating factors and outcomes. The double-blind peer-reviewed volumes are published in English, French, Spanish, German, and Russian.
