Football is a complex and dynamic phenomenon that needs to be examined in various social and historical contexts. It is influenced by social, economic, political and cultural factors while it also affects social life. As a miniature model of social life, football can almost be regarded as a magical game in the sense that it includes several indicators which provide us with the opportunity to collect information about the events taking place. The methods of analyzing and solving problems experienced on football fields and in social life should broaden the perspective, focusing on all actors of football.

Football Economy in Turkey

Playing with round objects has always been attractive and peculiar to humankind since ancient times. Football is considered to be one of the rare sport branches which gives as much pleasure to the spectators as to the players. Football has been a trading area, the importance and lucrativeness of which has been felt by almost everyone since its inception. In addition, football has turned out to be an industry through advertising revenues, sponsorship, live broadcasts, club products for fans, stocks of clubs, football equipment sold in stores, ticket fees paid by the fans who lost their hearts to their teams, combined tickets and even ‘special to fans’ credit cards offered banks; thus, it has no longer been a game played with amateur spirit, but a totally professional one.
