Crossroads and Interfaces: Studies in Linguistics and Literature, Volume 20
Summary
The book consists of two parts. The first part provides an overview of the development of Celtic and English/French language literatures from Celtic cultures. It also supplies explanations of specific genres and poetic metres, together with a brief historical outline of the conditions which gave rise to the Celtic literary tradition. Some of the topics are explored in detail in the second part, e. g., a British Tristan tradition, the development of the motif of the owl in Welsh literature, Welsh children’s literature, and the leading Welsh-language prose author Angharad Tomos. The problem of the dissemination and marketing of minority literatures is also addressed.
