Summary

One of the components of a modern teaching qualification is the ability to initiate and implement research into pedagogical practice, provide scientific ways of evaluating the educational process and solving problems, improve educational practice and innovate in the educational process. It is important that, from the first grade onwards, educators organise the educational process on the basis of students' experiences, taking into account their individual abilities, needs and dispositions. The application of action research in the educational process makes it possible to put this into practice.
The volume identifies the theoretical concept of action research and describes empirical experiences that show in which contexts action research can be chosen as a way of solving problems. The authors believe that this book could mobilise school communities and researchers to collaborate in effectively addressing problems in educational practice and responding to global challenges.

Biographical notes

Daiva Jakavonytė-Staškuvienė (Author) Linas Jašinauskas (Author) Jolita Kudinovienė (Author)

Daiva Jakavonytė-Staškuvienė is Professor of Educational Sciences at Vytautas Magnus University, Lithuania, and serves as a European Commission Inspector for Nursery and Primary Education in European Schools. Her research focuses on curriculum theory, pedagogy, general didactics, cooperative learning, action research, and teacher leadership. Jolita Kudinovienė is an Educologist, Doctor of Social Sciences, and Associate Professor at the Education Academy of Vytautas Magnus University. Her research focuses on strengthening research-based teaching and learning, fostering emotional intelligence and social competences, and supporting teachers' professional growth. Linas Jašinauskas is Associate Professor of Educational Sciences at Vytautas Magnus University. He is an author of national curricula and teaching materials and an evaluator for general education schools. His research covers educational monitoring, curriculum theory, general didactics, social education, development of textbooks, and history of education.
