    Aims and Scope As the annual peer-reviewed publication of the International Comparative Literature Association (ICLA), Recherche littéraire / Literary Research is an Open Access journal published by Peter Lang. Its mission is to inform comparative literature scholars worldwide of recent contributions to the field. To that end, it publishes scholarly essays, review essays discussing recent research developments in particular sub-fields of the discipline, as well as reviews of books on comparative topics. Scholarly essays are submitted to a double-blind peer review. Submissions by early-career comparative literature scholars are strongly encouraged. Book reviews should be between 1500 and 2000 words. Edited volumes and journal issues will also be considered for review. Review essays about the state of the art, about several related books, or about a work of major significance for the field will be allowed to exceed 3500 words, excluding works cited and footnotes. Scholarly essays should count between 6000 and 8000 words (excluding works cited and footnotes) and follow the Chicago Style sheet (parenthetical bibliographical references in the body of the text as well as a final list of Works Cited). Scholarly essays should also be preceded by an abstract in English of approximately 250 words and by 6 to 7 keywords for indexation purposes.   • Critical Qualitative Research

    Critical research serves to address societal structures and institutions that oppress and exclude so that transformative actions can be generated that reduce inequitable power conditions. We invite proposals for authored and edited volumes that describe critical social science research (re)conceptualizations, practices, and methodologies that can be used by other scholars who wish to design and implement critical qualitative inquiry. Critical Qualitative Research challenges modernist orientations toward research by using social theory, designs, and research practices that emerge from critical questions like: Who/what is heard? Who/what is silenced? Who is privileged? Who is disqualified? How are forms of inclusion/exclusion being created? How are relations of power constructed and managed? How do various forms of privilege and oppression intersect to impact life possibilities for various individuals and groups? How do the arts inform research? How can multiple knowledges be engaged in research? How can research be socially just?

    The Higher Education Research and Policy (HERP) series is intended to present both research-oriented and policy-oriented studies of higher education systems in transition, especially from international comparative perspectives.     The series Research on Korea responds to the fact that interest in Korea and the need for reliable information on the country's history and present have risen considerably during the last decades, both in- and outside of academia. The series offers an interdisciplinary platform for academic works engaging with Korea. Not being restricted to specific methodological or historiographical approaches, the series is open for studies of Korea in any field as long as they make use of Korean primary sources and systematically engage with Korean language secondary literature. Based on solid methodology, the studies assembled in this series aim to open up paths for new insights and new research questions on Korea and Korea's role in the regional and international context. In der Schriftenreihe Research on Korea werden neuere Ergebnisse der Koreaforschung veröffentlicht, um dem in den letzten Jahrzehnten stark gesteigerten Interesse der akademischen und allgemeinen Öffentlichkeit an verlässlichen Informationen zu Korea nachzukommen. Sie bietet ihr eine interdisziplinäre Plattform, ohne sich dabei methodisch oder historiographisch bestimmten Richtungen verpflichtet zu fühlen. Allerdings legen die Herausgeber großen Wert darauf, dass koreanische Primärquellen ebenso wie in koreanischer Sprache verfasste Sekundärliteratur umfassend und systematisch verwendet werden.     DASK presents a forum for linguistic research on the interrelationship between language and culture.   • Islamic Psychology and Biopsychological Basics of Life in Education and Health

    This book series can be seen as a bridge that brings different worlds and directions of psychology together. The essence of the work proposed in this book series concerns mainly the biopsychological foundations of life in educational and health related fields. The world of the psychology of the Islamic cultural area, for example, is largely unknown for the western readers up to now. Therefore, concepts and research methods from „western" psychology, which are taught and researched around the world, are transferred and applied to questions, to contexts of the Islamic cultural area and to the related Islamic Psychology. Through the contributions in this book series, the content-related concepts, the research approaches and the ways of thinking of the Islamic psychology in educational and health related psychological fields become visible and known for all the western psychologists and researchers. In this way it is possible to create a substantial exchange in which all directions of psychology can contribute to the further development of the discipline of psychology as a whole. This creation of connections is the basic idea of the biocentric approach on which the series is based. This approach promotes and aims to give space to various fundamental orientations in all cultural areas in all directions and allows them to be expressed in order to be described scientifically. The psychology of the 4 directions is described in this biocentric approach: the Islamic psychology is called the psychology of the „east", then the psychology of the „west", the „south" and the „north".This book series is open to welcome similar works, monographies and collective volumes. La collection des « Cahiers du Collège d'’’Europe » publie les résultats des recherches menées sur ces thèmes au Collège d'Europe, au sein de ses deux campus (Bruges et Varsovie). Focalisés sur l'’’Union européenne et le processus d'’’intégration, ces travaux peuvent être spécialisés dans les domaines des sciences politiques, du droit ou de l’'’économie, mais ils sont le plus souvent de nature interdisciplinaire. La collection vise à approfondir la compréhension de ces questions complexes et contribue ainsi au débat européen. Critères pour l'’acceptation des manuscrits dans la collection : - Un manuscrit abouti et finalisé, rédigé dans un anglais et/ou français correct, ne demandant pas ou pratiquement pas de correction linguistique - Un manuscrit mis aux normes éditoriales de la maison d'édition - L'’excellent développement d'’un sujet relevant d'’un des quatre domaines de recherche du Collège d’’Europe (Droit, Économie, Science politique et diplomatie, Relations internationales ou une approche interdisciplinaire) ; qui est à jour qui ouvre des perspectives sur le futur - Un texte original, qui représente une valeur ajoutée aux études européennes et qui est destiné à une audience académique internationale - Un texte qui montre une expertise dans le champ des études européennes, ou une discipline annexe, qui rencontre les attentes (élevées) des lecteurs de la collection - Un livre qui se veut être académique et analytique, et non politique ou idéologique, même si, bien entendu, les recommandations peuvent laisser transparaitre des préférences. On conseille aux futurs auteurs de faire relire leur manuscrit par un ou deux collègues, pour augmenter les chances d’'acceptation du manuscrit. Les manuscrits proposés seront soumis pour évaluation aux directeurs de collection ainsi que, de façon anonyme, à un comité d'’évaluation externe. Europe is in a constant state of flux. The European Union’s politics, economics, law and external action are changing rapidly. The European Union itself is in a continuous situation of adaptation. New challenges and new requirements arise continually, both internally and externally. The College of Europe Studies series seeks to publish new research on these issues carried out by members of its academic community. Focused on the European Union and the European integration process, this research may be specialised in the areas of political science, law, economics or international relations, but much of it is of an interdisciplinary nature. The objective is to promote the understanding and explanation of the issues concerned and to make a contribution to ongoing discussions. Criteria for acceptance of manuscripts include: - a fully-fledged mature manuscript in correct English and/or French, which requires little or no language editing - a manuscript which is technically up to standard and in conformity with the publishers editorial guidelines - a good treatment of a subject in the four areas that the College of Europe has expertise in (Law, economics, political science and diplomacy + International Relations or a solid interdisciplinary treatise); which is up-to-date and preferably also forward looking - a text which is original and presents an added value in EU studies for a sophisticated international academic readership - a text showing expertise in EU studies, or the relevant segment of it, which reflects the (high) expectations or readers of the College of Europe series - a book which is academic and analytical, not political or ideological, although of course (policy) recommendations can express certain preferences. Potential authors are well advised to have the manuscript read critically by one or two colleagues, so that the chances of being accepted increase. Submitted manuscripts will be subject to a critical review by the book series editors as well as external «blind» peer review.
