In cooperation with the MLA International Bibliography, the editors of the “Medieval English Mirror“ series provide a forum for the Medieval English Studies Symposium held in Poznan (Poland) offering a wide range of contributions on English Language and Literatures. Topics include (among others) Old and Middle English language and literature, analyses of medieval English literature pertaining to cultural studies and a wide range of Middle English religious and secular discourse. Medieval and Early Modern French Studies

This series aims to publish work of the highest quality in these areas. The series will include monographs and collaborative or collected works from both established and younger scholars, and will encompass a wide range of disciplines and theoretical approaches. Medieval Interventions publishes innovative studies on medieval culture broadly conceived. By «innovative», we envisage works espousing, for example, new research protocols especially those involving digitized resources, revisionist approaches to codicology and paleography, reflections on medieval ideologies, fresh pedagogical practices, digital humanities, advances in gender studies, as well as fresh thinking on animal, environmental, geospatial, and nature studies. In short, the series will seek to set rather than follow agendas in the study of medieval culture. Since medieval intellectual and artistic practices were naturally interdisciplinary, the series welcomes studies from across the humanities and social sciences. Recognizing also the vigor that marks the field worldwide, the series endeavors to publish work in translation from non-Anglophone medievalists.

The Neo-Latin literature is an important factor uniting Europe as a cultural entity. It is impossible to comprehend European culture as a coherent homogenous whole without an enquiry into this literature. European culture perceived as the sum of national literatures emerges to us as incomplete and distorted as a figure reflected in a broken mirror. The series œNeo-Latin Studies shall include books concerning all aspects of Neo-Latin writing. It is our intention to pay a special attention to Central European writing of the 16th, 17th, 18th centuries and more broadly the issues of the Northern Renaissance. This series publishes titles from any area of Iberian and Latin American Studies that explore issues relating to questions of identity. The series accepts for publication scholarly monographs and collections of essays that aim to further our knowledge and understanding of the lives of individuals and communities who speak any of the languages of the Iberian Peninsula or Latin America. Ideas and concepts of identity can be explored at various levels, ranging from the individual to the national or international, and in different media. Proposals are welcome from researchers working in any cultural field, for example, the history of ideas, literature, performance, cinema, art and photography, and on a variety of issues, including nationhood, exile, memory, and gender. The series welcomes manuscripts in English or Spanish.

Die Reihe Medieval to Early Modern Culture / Kultureller Wandel vom Mittelalter zur Frühen Neuzeit beschäftigt sich mit der weiteren Erforschung der janusköpfigen ‚Sattelzeit‘ des 15. und 16. Jahrhunderts, die aus einer Vielzahl inhaltlicher wie fachlicher Perspektiven und fächerübergreifend in den Blick genommen wird (so z. B. unter den Begriffen Innovation vs. Tradition, Normative Zentrierung, Personen(selbst-)darstellung, moderne Verwaltungskulturen, Entfaltung der Medien der Symbolik, der Bildung und ihrer Institutionen, der Konstruktion der eigenen Vergangenheit wie ihrer Gegenwart und Zukunft). Getragen wird die Reihe von Wissenschaftlern der Universitäten Groningen, Münster und Saarbrücken sowie von Gastwissenschaftlern, die einem breiten Spektrum geisteswissenschaftlicher Fächer angehören.

Depuis la fin du XVe siècle et la « Découverte » du Nouveau Monde par Christophe Colomb, l’’Amérique latine et l’’Europe entretiennent d’’intenses relations politiques, économiques et culturelles. Souvent présenté sous le seul angle de l’’européanisation de l’’Amérique, ce lien historique – imaginaire tout autant que matériel – s’’avère, en réalité, infiniment plus complexe et comprend également de nombreux « effets retours » de l’’Amérique vers l’’Europe. Cette collection vise donc à explorer, dans une perspective pluridisciplinaire et sans négliger les possibles détours que purent connaître les échanges euro-américains, les multiples phénomènes de circulation unissant ces deux rives de l’’Atlantique du début de la période coloniale jusqu’’au XXIe siècle. Indigenous Cultures of Latin America

Indigenous Cultures of Latin America: Past and Present is a new bilingual series that welcomes book proposals, in English or Spanish, focused on the fields of anthropology, archaeology, linguistics, ethnohistory, and art history, among others. We encourage original proposals for projects that use a conjunctive approach to understanding beliefs and lifeways of prehispanic, colonial period, and contemporary indigenous peoples inhabiting Latin America, broadly defined (i.e. extending into parts of the U.S. Southeast and Southwest), relying on a combination of methodologies and data sets to interpret the subject matter. We further encourage projects that utilize decolonizing methodologies and seek to promote research and fieldwork undertaken in collaboration with local indigenous communities and/or indigenous consultants. The series will publish academic monographs, edited collections, and readers. All book proposals and manuscripts will be subject to a rigorous single-blind peer review process, conducted by experts in the respective field(s) of study.
