DDR- Studien / East German Studies

Edited By Richard A. Zipser

DDR-Studien/East German Studies series consists of scholarly monographs, in English or German, on topics in the humanities and social sciences pertaining to the (former) German Democratic Republic. This series is not restricted to literary topics, but - as the title suggests - is intended to focus on East German culture and society in the broadest sense. Original monographs in the following areas are especially welcome: literature, international relations, politics, philosophy, history, religion, education, music and musical life, the theater, art, architecture, and popular culture. Biographical studies of personalities who contributed substantially to the development of East German society and culture are also most welcome. The life, work, and times of important figures in GDR public life - including politician, philosophers, social scientists, writers, musicians, artists, scientists, etc. - should be presented in context.
