This interdisciplinary and international book series aims to bring together current approaches in the environmental humanities (particularly in the fields of ecocriticism, environmental history, and environmental justice), with a focus on European contexts. It comprises thematic and theoretical studies which engage ecological issues, climate change, and the discourse of the Anthropocene, seeking to understand the forms of their representation across different media, cultures, and historical periods. „Studies in Literature, Culture, and the Environment" aim to connect the environmental humanities to the social and natural sciences and thus to contribute to the remediation of ecological problems. The series comprises monographs and edited volumes in both German and English. All publications will be peer reviewed. Book proposals are welcome and may be submitted to the editors. Sie umfasst theoretische und gegenstandsbezogene Studien, die sich mit dem Umwelt- und Klimawandel wie auch dem Anthropozän-Diskurs aus geistes- und kulturwissenschaftlicher Perspektive auseinandersetzen und die Formen ihrer narrativen und bildlichen Darstellung epochen- und kulturraumübergreifend ausloten. Zudem schlägt sie eine Brücke zu den umweltbezogenen Sozial- und Naturwissenschaften und will so zum besseren Verständnis ökologischer Probleme beitragen. Die Reihe enthält Monographien, Forschungsberichte sowie Sammel- und Tagungsbände in deutscher und englischer Sprache. Alle Bände werden peer reviewed. Manuskriptvorschläge an die Herausgeber sind willkommen. Générations futures, Paix et Environnement / Future generations, Peace and the Environment

The purpose of this collection is to promote the work carried out by the Normandy Chair for Peace, which investigates the rights of future generations and Peace with the Earth. Resolutely open to the international scene and committed to multidisciplinarity, the Normandy Chair for Peace will publish here the proceedings and scholarship it has coordinated in fields as varied as: the legal protection of the planet, the rights of indigenous peoples, the rights of nature, animals, success stories, and environmental peace-building. This collection strives for coherence among the various transformations currently under way in international, regional and national legal systems with a view toward establishing sustainable protection of the environment, environmental rights and the future. The collection also explores protection of the future human condition along with bioethical issues that are constantly renewing the legitimate fields of law. Drawing on the immemorial wisdom of Humankind, this collection intends to promote all types of work illustrating the imperative of civilization according to which: "We shall have peace on Earth when we live in Peace with the Earth". Cette collection a pour objet de promouvoir les travaux menés par la Chaire Normandie pour la Paix qui œuvre pour le droit des générations futures et la Paix avec la Terre. Résolument ouverte à l’international et inscrite dans la pluridisciplinarité, la Chaire Normandie pour la paix publiera ici les travaux scientifiques qu’elle aura coordonné dans des domaines aussi variés que　: la protection juridique de la planète, des droits des peuples autochtones, des droits de la nature, des animaux, des success stories, de la construction de la paix environnementale. Elle œuvre pour une mise en cohérence de différentes transformations actuellement en cours au sein des systèmes juridiques internationaux, régionaux à nationaux en vue d’instituer une protection durable de l’environnement, des droits environnementaux et de l’avenir. Elle est également ouverte à la protection de la condition humaine future et aux questions de bioéthique qui ne cessent de renouveler les champs légitimes du droit. Prenant appui sur la sagesse immémoriale de l’Humanité, cette collection entend promouvoir tous types de travaux illustrant cet impératif de civilisation selon lequel　: «　Nous aurons la paix sur Terre lorsque nous vivrons en Paix avec la Terre　».

Elle privilégie l’analyse des politiques publiques (environnement, santé, emploi, culture, etc.) et l’étude institutionnelle et organisationnelle des administrations publiques. Les mutations qui caractérisent aujourd’hui l’action publique (déréglementation, externalisation, contractualisation, action en réseaux...) sont au cœur de ses préoccupations. Ainsi la collection « Action publique » accorde-t-elle également une place importante aux rapports que l’État entretient avec son environnement, l’appareil politique et la société civile bien sûr, mais aussi avec les évolutions sociétales plus larges (individualisme, globalisation, etc.). La pluridisciplinarité est une caractéristique essentielle des travaux contemporains dans le domaine. C’est pourquoi cette collection encourage les approches économiques, historiques, juridiques, politologiques, sociologiques et philosophiques. Series founded by Marc Mormont The EcoPolis series is dedicated to the analysis of changes that occur simultaneously in society and the environment when the latter becomes a fundamental concern. For a long time the environment was defined as being external to society, like the world of nature and ecosystems which serves as a material foundation for social life. Thus the aim of environmental policies has been to "preserve", to "protect" or even to "manage" that which was seen as a sort of infrastructure of our societies. After several decades of environmental policy, nature and the environment have become objects of government and it is seemingly within the same movement that each society models its environment and shapes itself. This dialectic will be central to the series. Collection fondée par Marc Mormont Depuis sa création en 2002, la　collection　EcoPolis analyse les changements qui se produisent simultanément dans　la société et dans l’environnement, quand celui-ci　fait l'objet d'une préoccupation　majeure. Au fil des volumes, la collection suit l’évolution des problématiques　environnementales, en interrogeant la manière dont ces　dernières sont devenues consubstantielles　des questions économiques, sociales et politiques. L’environnement　a longtemps été défini comme extérieur à la société, comme un monde où la　nature et les écosystèmes constituent le soubassement　matériel de la vie sociale.　Les politiques d’environnement avaient alors pour but de　« préserver », « protéger », voire « gérer » ce　qui était pensé comme une　sorte d’infrastructure de nos sociétés. Après　quelques décennies de politiques d’environnement, la nature et l’environnement　sont devenus des objets de　l’action publique et il apparaît que c’est dans un　même mouvement que chaque société modèle son environnement et se construit　elle-même. Cette　dialectique prend une importance accrue quand les sociétés se　trouvent confrontées, du fait de la montée en puissance des changements　globaux, aux　transformations irréversibles de l’environnement (changement climatique, perte de biodiversité, etc.). C’est le rapport　entre la dialectique sociétés / environnement et ces transformations que la collection　entend　explorer.

Histoire des Échanges, Communications, Postes et Territoires / History of the Exchanges, Communications, Post Offices and Territories

The Postal Service, guardian of a French-styled public service, has become, under the influence of Europe, a universal service, and by its history and by its roots in its environment, presents an opportunity to reflect on the manner in which traditional and contemporary societies have resolved the issues of communication, exchanges and control of territories. Thanks to the Committee for the history of the Post-Office, researchers in the humanities and social sciences have been allowed to reflect on its past and to shed light on the changes in the societies linked within its network. Thus, now active for nearly two decades, the committee has encouraged and promoted research on the Postal Service, its «tools/instruments» of exchanges, its diplomatic agents, its politics, economy, culture and even its land settlements, without forgetting its legislative and legal aspects. This series brings together work – doctorates, acts of symposia, biographies, testimonials – in French and in English, that specifically deal with the Post-Office and, more broadly, of the problems of commerce, communications and the control of territories. It is a platform for critical analyses of a world in perpetual motion. All the publications in this collection are subject to double peer review. Gardienne d’un service public à la française devenu, sous l’influence de l’Europe, un service universel, la Poste, par son histoire et par son ancrage dans son environnement, permet de réfléchir sur la façon dont les sociétés traditionnelles et contemporaines ont résolu les questions de communication, d’échanges et de maîtrise des territoires. Grâce au Comité pour l’Histoire de la Poste, il est donné aux chercheurs en sciences humaines et sociales à réfléchir sur son passé et à éclairer les mutations des sociétés qu’elle relie grâce à son réseau. Ainsi, actif depuis plus de deux décennies, le comité suscite et encourage les recherches sur les Postes, « outils/instruments » d’échanges, et aussi agent de la diplomatie, de la politique, de l’économie, de la culture ou encore de l’aménagement des territoires, sans oublier les aspects législatifs et juridiques. Cette collection rassemble les travaux – doctorats, actes de colloques, biographies, témoignages –, en français et en anglais, traitant spécifiquement de la Poste/des postes et, de façon plus large, des problématiques des échanges, des communications et de la maîtrise des territoires. Elle se veut une plateforme d’analyses critiques d’un monde en perpétuel mouvement. Toutes les publications de cette collection sont soumises à une double évaluation à l’aveugle.
