Early Christianity in the Context of Antiquity

The series ECCA (Early Christianity in the Context of Antiquity) seeks to publish monographs and edited volumes that take as their theme early Christianity and its connections with the religion(s) and culture(s) of antiquity and late antiquity. Special attention is given to the interactions between religion and culture, as well as to the influences that diverse religions and cults had on one another. Works published in ECCA extend chronologically from the second century B.C.E. to the fifth century C.E. and geographically across the expanse of the Roman empire and its immediate neighbors. Prior to publication, the quality of the work published in this series is reviewed by the editors of the series and by members of the academic advisory board. Proposals are welcome for mongraphs or edited volumes. Die Reihe ECCA (Early Christianity in the Context of Antiquity) zielt auf die Publikation von Monographien und Sammelbänden, die sich thematisch mit dem frühen Christentum und seinen Beziehungen zu Religion(en) und Kultur(en) der Antike und Spätantike befassen. Dabei gilt das besondere Augenmerk den Wechselwirkungen, die Religion und Kultur aufeinander ausüben, sowie den Einflüssen, die die verschiedenen Religionen und Kulte aufeinander hatten. Zeitlich erstrecken sich die in ECCA publizierten Arbeiten auf das 2. Jh. v. Chr. bis zum 5. Jh. n.Chr., geographisch auf den Raum des Imperium Romanum und seiner unmittelbaren Nachbarn. Die Qualität der in dieser Reihe erscheinenden Arbeiten wird vor der Publikation durch die Herausgeber der Reihe sowie durch Mitglieder des Wissenschaftlichen Beirates geprüft. Bible in the Christian Orthodox Tradition

This series aims at exploring and evaluating the various aspects of biblical traditions as studied, understood, taught, and lived in the Christian communities that spoke and wrote – and some continue speaking and writing – in the Aramaic, Arabic, Armenian, Coptic, Georgian, Romanian, Syriac, and other languages of the Orthodox family of churches. A particular focus of this series is the incorporation of the various methodologies and hermeneutics used for centuries in these Christian communities, into the contemporary critical approaches, in order to shed light on understanding the message of the Bible. Each monograph in the series will engage in critical examination of issues raised by contemporary biblical research. Scholars in the fields of biblical text, manuscripts, canon, hermeneutics, theology, lectionary, Apocrypha and Pseudepigrapha will have an enormous opportunity to share their academic findings with a worldwide audience. Manuscripts and dissertations, incorporating a variety of approaches and methodologies to studying the Bible in the Eastern and Oriental Orthodox traditions – including, but not limited to, theological, historiographic, philological and literary – are welcome. Middle and Early Modern English Texts

This series is conceived to facilitate the edition of unpublished scientific treatises written in Late Middle English (late 13th century to the very early 16th century) as well as the publication of monographs dealing with their transmission, palaeographical and dialectal features, and/or their lexical, syntactic and pragmatic characteristics. The second aspect of the series seeks to favour studies specializing in linguistic variation or any of the multi-faceted aspects of the Middle English language even from a diachronic perspective. The Late Middle English Texts series is directed towards a wide scholarly readership that includes Textual Edition, Textual Criticism and Transmission – especially on electronic and digital formats both as standalone and online –, Ecdotics, History of Science, History of the English Language and Linguistics, Late Medieval Studies, History of Cultural Artifacts and Librarianship. The chronological scope we contemplate will range approximately from the mid 1200's to the early 1500's, and will include both manuscripts, incunabula and early prints that have come down to us in English, with the occasional excursion into analogues in other languages. Editions will include codicological and language studies that will enhance the relevance of the text within the cultural transmission European framework. The series includes both scholarly and academic editions and monograph studies with a specialised and comprehensive focus. Thematic and teaching textual anthologies will also be considered for the series. We do not aim primarily at publishing collected papers from conferences, symposia, meetings and other scholarly reunions, unless the occasion had a very relevant topic and was strongly coherent and specialised in its discussions. Each publication is subject to a rigorous blind double peer-review system that involves at least five readers from five different institutions (Universities or Research Institutes).

Ein noch immer zentrales und grundlegendes Unterrichtsfach wie Deutsch spiegelt wie kaum ein anderes den "Geist der Zeiten" (Goethe) wider. Fachgeschichte ist damit eine zentrale Aufgabe der Fachdidaktik, die über historische Bestandsaufnahmen hinaus auch Orientierungen für Gegenwart und Zukunft unserer gesamten sprachlich-literarischen Kommunikationskultur bietet. Die von Joachim S. Hohmann 1988 begründete, von Bodo Lecke weitergeführte und von Christian Dawidowski herausgegebene Schriftenreihe thematisiert die Bedeutung des Faches aus wissenschaftlichen, unterrichtspraktischen, gesellschafts- und bildungspolitischen Perspektiven – insbesondere in Gestalt von Spezialmonografien, Habilitationsschriften, Dissertationen, Forschungsberichten und Sammelwerken. Die Qualität der in dieser Reihe erscheinenden Arbeiten wird vor der Publikation durch den Herausgeber der Reihe geprüft.

Zentrales Anliegen der „Schriftenreihe des Instituts für Management und Tourismus“ ist es, im Bereich der Betriebswirtschaftslehre bei wissenschaftlicher Fundierung tourismusbezogene Erkenntnisse mit Anwendungsorientierung und Problemlösungsanspruch zu vermitteln. Die Reihe zeigt anhand konkreter Fragestellungen beispielhaft auf, wie die Tourismuswirtschaft neuen Marktkonstellationen und komplexen Herausforderungen begegnen kann. Das Spektrum der Veröffentlichungen reicht von Projekt- und Forschungsberichten bis hin zu Sammelbänden mit Artikeln von Wissenschaftlern und Praktikern. Analog zur Betrachtung des interdisziplinären Forschungsgegenstandes Tourismus an der Fachhochschule Westküste und dem dort angesiedelten Institut für Management und Tourismus liegt der Reihe ein betriebswirtschaftlicher Fokus zugrunde. Unter diesem konzeptionellen Dach fungiert die „Schriftenreihe des IMT“ als zentrale touristische Veröffentlichungsplattform der Fachhochschule Westküste.

Im Mittelpunkt der Reihe Sprachentwicklung - Verlauf, Störung, Diagnostik, Intervention steht Sprache in ihrer Entwicklung und Ausdifferenzierung. Sprachentwicklung beginnt nicht erst mit dem ersten intentional und sinnvoll gebrauchten Wort. Schon vor dem Geburtsschrei, der stimmlichen Initialzündung, werden pränatal die ersten Grundlagen zur Ausbildung oraler Sprache gelegt, auf denen das präverbale Stadium im 1. Lebensjahr aufbaut. Strukturell geht es in der Reihe um Stadien und Besonderheiten der primären und sekundären Sprachentwicklung sowie um Varianten und Abweichungen mit Krankheitswert. Einen Schwerpunkt bilden Sprachstörungen im Kindesalter, ihre Prävention, Diagnostik und Therapie. Erklärungsansätze zu Facetten des Spracherwerbs sowie empirische Ergebnisse relevanter Studien sind weitere Schwerpunkte.

Die 2001 von Bodo Lecke begründete und von Christian Dawidowski und Irene Pieper herausgegebene Buchreihe versammelt aktuelle Beiträge zur Literatur- und Mediendidaktik in Form von Monographien oder Sammelbänden. Schwerpunkte liegen in der didaktischen Theoriebildung, der Vorstellung und Diskussion empirischer Untersuchungen und dem interkulturellen und transkulturellen Literatur- und Medienunterricht. Die Reihe versteht sich auch als Forum für Arbeiten, die der intermedialen Verbindung bzw. Integration von fachunterrichtlich orientierter Literaturdidaktik und fachübergreifender Medienpädagogik und Medienerziehung gelten. Darüber hinaus finden fachgeschichtlich gewachsene Traditionen Berücksichtigung.

Literarisches Leben heute

Literarisches Leben heute setzt sich wissenschaftlich mit gegenwärtig publizierenden Autoren auseinander. Zudem sucht die Reihe den Dialog mit diesen Autoren, indem sie in einem überschaubaren Umfang Texte zu einzelnen Persönlichkeiten, Institutionen oder Phänomenen des Literarischen Lebens publiziert. Dabei bemüht sich die Reihe, die Vielfalt der Gegenwartsliteratur exemplarisch zu dokumentieren, indem sie z.B. auch Kinder- und Jugendliteratur und populäre literarische Formate berücksichtigt. Cultural History and Literary Imagination

This series promotes critical inquiry into the relationship between the literary imagination and its cultural, intellectual or political contexts. The series encourages the investigation of the role of the literary imagination in cultural history and the interpretation of cultural history through literature, visual culture and the performing arts. Contributions of a comparative or interdisciplinary nature are particularly welcome. Individual volumes might, for example, be concerned with any of the following: The mediation of cultural and historical memory, The material conditions of particular cultural manifestations, The construction of cultural and political meaning, Intellectual culture and the impact of scientific thought, The methodology of cultural inquiry, Intermediality, Intercultural relations and practices. Acceptance is subject to advice from our editorial board, and all proposals and manuscripts undergo a rigorous peer review assessment prior to publication. The usual language of publication is English, but proposals in French, German, Italian and Spanish may also be considered.
