Anglo-Iberian Studies

Anglo-Iberian Studies is an interdisciplinary peer-reviewed book series that aims to showcase innovative research in the interdisciplinary field of Anglo-Iberian Studies. The collection provides a platform for comparative and critical scholarly work on historical, artistic, literary, cultural, scientific, commercial and religious relations between Portugal and Great Britain, Europe’s oldest allies (Anglo-Portuguese Studies), and between Spain and Great Britain (Anglo-Spanish Studies). The aim of the collection is to foreground areas of multidisciplinary connections between the Iberian Peninsula and Great Britain, as well as between Portuguese- Spanish- and English-speaking communities all over the world. We welcome proposals from a variety of disciplinary backgrounds. The series publishes books in English, Portuguese and Spanish. We are especially interested in work that brings new intellectual impetus to recognized research areas.

Cultural Media Studies

In the past few years, our political, cultural, and media landscapes have cultivated a sharp, notable rise of media activism, more representations of diverse groups and characters, and the need for intersectional approaches to media studies. The #MeToo campaign, the 2017 and 2018 Women’s Marches, Black Lives Matter marches, cross-border anti-feminicide activist marches, immigration marches, and increased representation of diverse sexual identities, racial/ethnic groups, and gender identities are evidence of the need for continued research on cultural media studies topics. The Peter Lang Cultural Media Studies Book Series is accepting book proposals for both proposed book and fully developed manuscripts on a rolling basis for media studies books that explore media production, media consumption, media effects, and media representations of feminism(s), race/ethnicity, gender, sexuality, and related topics.

The “Mikroglottika series“ provides a forum for special branch of Linguistics: Minority Languages. The series contains book editions of an online periodical and detailed studies on minority languages. Topics dealt with in the series range from philological descriptions of a minority language in relation to any linguistic parameter (phonology, morphology, syntax, lexicon etc.) to sociolinguistic descriptions of particular situations involving minority languages. La serie presenta monografías y actas de congresos, realizados en universidades españolas, tanto del ámbito de la literatura y la cultura alemanas como de los estudios comparados. Recoge diferentes teorías y métodos tal y como se aplican en la actualidad en España, y busca abrir perspectivas para futuros trabajos. Die Reihe stellt Forschungsergebnisse und Kongressbeiträge aus dem Bereich der deutschen Literatur- bzw. Kulturwissenschaft und der Komparatistik vor. Sie bietet Einblicke in unterschiedlichste kultur- und literaturwissenschaftliche Ansätze und Methoden, wie sie an spanischen Universitäten in der Aktualität Anwendung finden und will damit auch Perspektiven für zukünftige Arbeiten aufzeigen.

Volume 13 concludes this series. The burgeoning field of Inter-American Studies interrogates the notion of traditionally bounded disciplinary territories while highlighting the United States internal cultural plurality and its multi-faceted interrelatedness with other countries. Focusing on complex forms of interdependence between Anglophone and Francophone Canada, the United States, Latin America as well as the Caribbean, this series is devoted to publications that analyze and reconceptualize American literatures, cultures, histories, borderlands, demographic migrations, as well as environmental and socio-political concerns within a postnational, subaltern, comparative, hemispheric, transatlantic, or transpacific framework. Prior to publication, the works published in this series have been reviewed by external referees appointed by the editorship.
