Schriftenreihe zum IT- und Informationsrecht

Die neue Schriftenreihe will die umwälzenden Fragen der digitalen Gesellschaft aus juristischer Perspektive nachzeichnen, unter besonderer Berücksichtigung des IT-Rechts und der technischen Bezüge der Digitalisierung. Das besondere Augenmerk gilt dabei der interdisziplinären Verzahnung von Technik und Recht. Dabei weitet sich das IT-Recht zunehmend zu einem allgemeinen Daten- und Informationsrecht aus, sodass auch die Bezüge zu Rechtsfragen von Big Data, dem Dateneigentum oder der datenschutzrechtlichen Zuordnung von Informationen thematisiert werden. Willkommen sind insbesondere Abhandlungen, die die Grundsatzfragen des Informationsrechts interdisziplinär und rechtsvergleichend untersuchen. Die Schriftenreihe wurde Mitte 2022 eingestellt.

Immigration from Europe to North America

Although human beings have been migrating across the globe for millennia, mass migration to North America has occurred only in the last 200 years. Whether they came to farm the land, to practice their crafts, or to find work in newly-emerging industries, over 50 000 000 immigrants crossed the Atlantic Ocean in the last two centuries to begin a new life in the «New World». This series presents examples of the latest scholarship on mass migration from Europe to North America. It welcomes comparative studies of immigrants who went to either Canada or the United States, or both. It also features interdisciplinary studies, biographies, collected essays, and conference papers related to immigration to North America. Language, Migration and Identity

This series fills a hitherto neglected but now growing area in the treatment of migration: the role of language and identity. This topic is central in a globalized world where the definition of community is constantly challenged by the increased mobility of individuals. Linked to this mobility is the issue of identity construction, in which language plays a key role. Language practices are indicators of the socialization process in bilingual and multilingual settings, and part of the strategies by which speakers assert membership within social groups. Migrant speakers are constantly engaged in identity construction in varying settings. Language, Migration and Identity invites proposals for revised dissertations, monographs and edited volumes on language practices and language use by migrant speakers. A wide range of themes is envisaged, within the area of migration, but from a broadly linguistic perspective. The series welcomes studies of migrant communities and their language practices, studies of language practices in multilingual educational settings, and case studies of identity building among migrants through language use. Proposals might focus on topics such as second language acquisition in social contexts, variation in L2 speech, multilingualism, acquisition of sociolinguistic competence, hybridity and ‘crossing’ in relation to identity. A multiplicity of approaches in the treatment of this interdisciplinary area will be welcome, from quantitative to ethnographic to mixed methods. The series welcomes established scholars as well as early career academics and recent PhD research.

Wolfgang Mitter Die Konzeption der Reihe beruht auf der Absicht der Herausgeber, jüngste Entwicklungen der Migrationsforschung im europäischen Kontext zu veröffentlichen und dabei die Aufmerksamkeit auf vergleichbare Themen zu lenken, welche Ähnlichkeiten und Unterschiede in den einzelnen europäischen Ländern verdeutlichen. Die inhaltliche Reichweite ist weit gefasst. Berücksichtigt werden bildungspolitische, allgemein- und vergleichend-erziehungswissenschaftliche, schulpädagogische und didaktische Aspekte, ebenso kulturtheoretische und bildungsgeschichtliche Rahmenbedingungen konkreter Sachverhalte und Trends unter bikulturellen, multikulturellen und universalen Fragestellungen. Im Hinblick auf den methodischen Ansatz liegt der Schwerpunkt auf der Analyse empirischer Untersuchungen auf quantitativer und qualitativer Grundlage. Die Reihe nimmt Beiträge von Experten auf, doch fühlen sich die Herausgeber der Förderung des wissenschaftlichen Nachwuchses besonders verpflichtet, welche durch die Veröffentlichung von Habilitationsarbeiten und Dissertationen verwirklicht wird.
