Studies in Language, Culture and Society

Until the publication of volume 16, the series was coedited by prof. Piotr Ruszkiewicz. The series will publish books addressing the nexus between language, culture and society. Contrastive studies are welcome in particular, whether of a synchronic or diachronic orientation. Various perspectives on language/communication are of interest: grammatical, pragmatic, sociolinguistic, discoursal and semiotic. A wide range of theoretical and methodological positions is accepted: cognitive /anthropological / corpus linguistics, as well as pragmatics, interactional sociolinguistics, (specialized) genre analysis, or critical discourse studies. The cutting edge of the series is to publish innovative research elucidating the processes of inter- and intra-language variation and change, and – at the same time – relating them to flows in and across cognate categories of culture, community and society. The series will publish monographs and edited volumes reporting on data-driven research that carries a potential for application in translation studies, language teaching, multilingual (multicultural) education, and interdisciplinary critical discourse studies. The languages of publication will be English and German, yet book proposals in other major languages will also be considered, if centrally contributive to the main aim of the series.

Posener Beiträge zu Sprache, Literatur und Medien

Bis Band 38 wurde die Reihe von Czesław Karolak herausgegeben und erschien unter dem Titel Posener Beiträge zur Germanistik. Die Reihe „Posener Beiträge zu Sprache, Literatur und Medien“ begreift sich als Fortsetzung der von Prof. Czesław Karolak, dem jahrelangen Leiter des Instituts für Germanistik der Adam-Mickiewicz-Universität in Poznań, begründeten und bis 2020 herausgegebenen Reihe „Posener Beiträge zur Germanistik“, in der 38 Monographien und Sammelbände erschienen sind. Diese Publikationen waren Ertrag und zugleich Spiegelung der an der AMU Poznań betriebenen Forschungen zur germanistischen Sprach- und Literaturwissenschaft, hier auch mit zahlreichen interdisziplinären und angewandten Ausrichtungen, z.B. zur Kultur-, Didaktik- und Übersetzungswissenschaft. Die Reihe ist nach wie vor offen für die Aufnahme und die Veröffentlichung von Texten, die Ergebnisse eigenständig bzw. in (internationaler) Zusammenarbeit realisierter Forschungsprojekte präsentieren und diskutieren. Der interdisziplinäre Charakter der Reihe wird beibehalten, wobei angesichts der besonderen Entwicklung von Kommunikation (durch die Medien im ganzen 20 Jh. und die elektronischen, zum Teil auch die neuen Medien in den letzten Jahrzehnten) diesbezügliche Beiträge besonders erwünscht sind.

Danziger Beiträge zur Germanistik

The Danziger Beiträge zur Germanistik series includes both anthologies and monographs in the field of German Language and Literature. One area of focus is the link between German and Polish literature, but the series is also dedicated to Germanic philology and history. The editors teach and research German Language and Literature in Poland. In der Buchreihe Danziger Beiträge zur Germanistik werden sowohl Sammelbände als auch Monographien aus dem Gebiet der Germanistik publiziert. Der Schwerpunkt der Reihe liegt dabei einerseits auf dem Verhältnis von deutscher und polnischer Literatur, andererseits widmet sich die Reihe auch dem Gebiet der Germanischen Philologie und der Geschichtswissenschaft. Die Herausgeber lehren und forschen zur Germanistik in Polen.

Die Reihe lenkt ihre Aufmerksamkeit auf Sprach- und Kulturkontakte in synchroner und diachroner Perspektive, wobei insbesondere die Berührungsbereiche zwischen der Germania und der Slavia im Zentrum des Erkenntnisinteresses stehen. Einen weiteren Schwerpunkt bilden von Mehrsprachigkeit beeinflusste sprachliche und kulturelle Divergenz bzw. Konvergenz aus eurolinguistischer Sicht. Die einzelnen Titel dieser Schriftenreihe werden primär in deutscher oder englischer Sprache veröffentlicht, wegen des Mehrsprachigkeitskonzepts und der eurolinguistischen Ausrichtung sind aber auch Beiträge auf Russisch zulässig.
