This book aspires to make an expedient contribution to the trust-based body of knowledge. Various disciplines analyze the notion of "trust", by addressing it from their own perspectives. The fact that the importance of multilevel and cross-level perspectives is gaining increasing attention in communication management has led to a call for examining trust across levels of communication analysis. The authors approach trust from the standpoint of different sub-branches of communication discipline, including brand management, public relations research, comparative advertising, health communication, political communication and digital communication. The Reliability Perception of the Corporate News in Social Media
Abstract Upon the rapidly increasing current intensive competition, the changes in the market conditions and the awareness of the consumers; institutions started to actualize some public relations applications and techniques in order to differentiate themselves from their rivals. The institutions utilize social networks which provide opportunities such as sending messages without any mediators as well as traditional mass media instruments, interaction and dialogue in order to inform their target groups related to their activities. Although it provides advantages, one of the most important problems encountered related to social network sites is about the reliability of the information which is shared there. The field research focusing on the measurement of reliability perception of corporate news in social media on the target group was applied to 400 students who attend various departments of Selçuk University Faculty of Communication through purposive sampling technique. At the end of the research, it was determined that the participants preferred internet and social media in order to be informed about the products and services and it was stated that they found the news presented in social media related to the institutions reliability at a moderate level.
