English Corpus Linguistics comprises studies of English that are based on computer-assisted, corpus-based methodology. It promotes corpus-linguistic descriptions of English in all its facets as well as in its diachronic developments (e.g. in regional varieties, in learner languages and in genre-specific historical varieties) and also highlights advancements in corpus-linguistic methodology (e.g. new software). In particular, ECL invites contributions that combine corpus-based insights with theoretical approaches and the modelling of linguistic theory.
