The Contributions to Philosophical Theology is a series dedicated to publishing monographs and collected volumes that combine theology and philosophy. It deals with different topics such as dogmatics, science and religion, God’s transcendence, Christian tradition, and various personalities of philosophical theology. The series is edited by Gijsbert van den Brink, Joshua R. Furnal, and Marcel Sarot. Its focus is on explaining social phenomena and processes by employing assumptions on the micro- as well as the macro-level and the interplay between these levels. Founded in 1984 by Günter Büschges and Hansjürgen Daheim, the series covers a broad range of topics and research questions. Publications can be in German as well as English.

The aim of this book series is to study the various aspects of risk linked to human activities. Scientific and technological development is changing our society fundamentally and the concept of risk is crucial for the analysis of the ongoing social transformation process. Progress in genetic engineering and the use of military technology by civilians, for instance, raise questions concerning ethical, political, environmental and public-health issues. This series, therefore, opts for a multidisciplinary approach to the problem of risk, which involves the scientific community as much as the political world and civil society. It publishes monographs and collected papers, mainly in French or English. Cette collection a pour principal objectif de traiter les différents aspects de la problématique des risques associés aux activités humaines. Parmi celles-ci, le développement scientifique, technologique et économique s’impose de plus en plus comme un moteur fondamental du changement social. Dans cette perspective, le concept de risque se révèle un outil pertinent d’analyse des processus de transformation sociale. À titre d’exemple, les recherches en génie génétique, de même que l’utilisation civile de technologie militaire, soulèvent inévitablement des questions d’éthique, de santé publique, d’environnement et de gestion des politiques publiques. Il est dès lors souhaitable d’envisager la problématique des risques à la lumière d’une approche multidisciplinaire qui mobilise tant la communauté scientifique que le monde politique et économique, voire même la société civile. Cette collection intègre des monographies et des ouvrages collectifs, principalement en langue française ou anglaise. As indicated by its name, this series is devoted to the interpretation of ancient Greek and Latin texts. It accommodates not only studies of special subjects and individual authors, but also annotated editions as well as commentaries. In the tradition of critical scholarship the collection is uncompromisingly philological without however excluding new approaches and methods of exegesis. Each of the volumes represents independent and original research which contributes to the understanding of ancient texts whether in the form of critical exposition or the investigation of specific problems. It is in this sense that they genuinely further the discipline of classical philology. At the same time the series welcomes studies of the reception and influence of ancient texts including in particular the history of their transmission as well as the historical development of philology in its various aspects. In order to reach as wide a readership as possible, publication is restricted to works written in those languages most commonly in use in classical scholarship. Special importance is attached to clear presentation and a choice of language that can be readily understood. Authors are moreover encouraged to provide translations wherever they would aid comprehension. Ultimately Sapheneia should not only advance classical studies,but also deepen our understanding of the intellectual tradition of the western world. As of volume 24, the series is no longer published by Peter Lang Verlag. Comme l’indique son nom, cette collection est consacrée à l’interprétation de textes anciens, grecs et latins. Elle offre un cadre à des monographies consacrées à un sujet ou à un auteur spécifique, mais aussi à des commentaires ou à des éditions annotées. La tradition de l’analyse critique nous oblige à concevoir son contenu comme une démarche philologique rigoureuse. Ceci ne saurait exclure cependant ni l’exploration de voies nouvelles, ni un élargissement des méthodes d’interprétation des textes. Les volumes de cette collection doivent relever d’une recherche indépendante, tant du point de vue de leur exégèse que de celui de l’approche analytique. En ce sens, elle offre un apport original à la philologie classique. Une grande importance y est donnée à la continuité et à l’actualité de la lecture des textes antiques, particulièrement dans les domaines de l’histoire de la transmission, de l’interprétation ainsi que de l’historique de la discipline philologique. Der Tradition der kritischen Wissenschaft verpflichtet, versteht sich die Reihe als eine streng philologische, ohne sich jedoch neuen Richtungen und erweiterten Methoden der textlichen Auslegung zu verschliessen. Die aufgenommenen Bände tragen aus eigenständiger Forschung zum Verständnis antiker Texte bei, sei es durch deren Exegese, sei es durch problembezogene Untersuchungen. Contributions to English and American Literary Studies provides visibility for excellent work on English, American and Anglophone literatures. The series publishes monographs and thematically focused volumes by emerging as well as established scholars engaged in exploring literary writing from the early modern period to the present as a rich imaginary form of cultural, political, and intellectual analysis. Open to a variety of theories and methods, CEALS is dedicated to strengthening the scholarly discussion of literary texts and their interconnections with cultural and historical, transatlantic and global contexts.
